A…WHAT MOM!

Days were moving pretty fast and apart from the little assignments she got from school, she was trying to find some other way to amuse herself. Her best friend Lily was always busy with her fashion classes and modelling and after successfully making Mr Bran's, her neighbor's life miserable by deleting all his office files and forcing him to start over, she was bored.

She found no opportunity to play games as nobody was available for her amusement. "Oh, no," she groaned in bed after realizing that morning came.

Lazily, she lifted her head up, noticed it was Saturday and only seven in the morning. She rolled over and covered the duvet over her head, preparing to go to another round of sleep up to afternoon, then wake up and eat and sleep again and call it a day. Her life was boring perfect.

She was just about to slip into a beautiful dream when her mother pounded on her door. "What now?" she shouted from her bed.

"Open this door, I have excellent news!" her mother excitedly screamed from the other side.

"I am sure," she said to herself. Then she shouted for her mom to hear. "If it is about your work, congratulations, now let me do what I know in peace."

Another pounding. "Honey, you'll love this, please open the door?"

Cursing all her mother's lineage and the father's she never knew, she walked gingerly to the door and flung it open. "What?"

Her mother was beaming. "So, there's this party…" she closed the door on her mother's face. "Wait…" she opened it and maintained her disinterested look. "I was given to two invites, it's a computer nerdy thing my boss got invited so I was thinking why don't you come with me, and my boss isn't interested?"

Hearing the word computer made her brain pay attention. "You said two tickets?" Her mother nodded quickly. "Can I see them?" she gave them to her. "Thank you." She slammed the door shut.

"Honey!"

"Thank you, I will be taking Lily with me, you're the last person I will be going to a party with," she yelled from her side and checked the tickets.

The event was taking place in the evening at a private resort a few kilometers from the city. Quickly, she grabbed her phone and called Lily. "Are you free this evening and don't tell me you're busy?"

"Is that a question?" Lily asked.

"So, I want you to come over here in the evening, dressed we are going to a party. Don't be late!" she hanged up before Lily could think of an excuse.

Crawling to her bed, she grabbed her computer and checked about the party and the attendance. She was hell shocked to realize that powerful computer companies in the state were invited together with other great companies, no wonder her mother's boss was invited.

This was her time to shine, time to meet people she met in her dreams, maybe she could say hello to the CEOs or workers of the companies she had dreamed of working in after college, maybe she could even weave her own connection.

She jumped up and down on her bed. "Yes."
