Chapter 8

After twelve hours of flight, we finally landed in Hong Kong International Airport. This is the first time I set foot on Hong Kong's soil after so many years.

"Wow, We are finally here! I am so happy that I am travelling with my best friend and my boy friend!" exclaimed Jennifer.

At the very last minute Jeff managed to apply for leave from his office and follow us on this trip. I had to book an extra room at the last minute. Thank God the hotel still have a few rooms available.

The hotel which we will be staying in for the next few days is just two blocks away from the venue where Mama Award will be held.

Since there were only two entrance tickets, I gave up my ticket to Jeff as I am not very interested in K-Pop.

I plan to walk around the city and visit the place where I used to live as well as my old school and the site where my mother used to open her noodle store.

Suddenly all the old memories seem to be coming back in a wave. All of the memories I embedded at the back of my brain.

The small room which I lived in with my mother. The stench from the wet market below. The library which I spent so many weekends in.

I also remember how I loved to sit with Louis and his friends when they came over to the noodle store after their acting classes. I also miss the time when Louis would bring me to the park nearby my mother's stall to play on the swing and talk.

After so many years, this is the first time I think about Louis.

My mother told me many years back that Louis had become one of the top actor in Hong Kong. He acted in many blockbuster movies as well as in Cantonese dramas.

I am very happy for him. He deserves his success. Nobody can work more harder than him.

I had never watch any of his movies or dramas before as I am always hitting the books.

"Taxi!" I was jerked back to reality when I heard Jeff shouting out for a taxi.

It was a thirty minutes trip from the airport to our hotel.

After checking into our room. I decided to call it a night.

"Good night! See both of you tomorrow morning," I said.

"Are you sure you do not want to join us for a drink at Lan Kwai Fong? It is just a few minutes walk from the hotel," asked Jennifer.

"No, thank you. I am exhausted from the long flight. You guys go ahead and have fun," I answered.

"Have a good rest then," said Jeff.

I smile at both of them and enter my room.
