Chapter 14

Meruem and Melony were currently eating lunch together in Orion's room again. While Melony was eating her lunch, Meruem was drinking some juice, thinking of ways to get her to be his secondary pilot. He had heard that her parents were highly against ANGELS, so it would be difficult to convince them. The first thing he thought of was of course the pay, even a trainee pilot would make much more than any doctor, lawyer, or scientist, it was perfect. But the pay wouldn't make up for any accidents that could happen on the field, while he was thinking of this, Melony was also considering something.

Melony's time at HEAVEN was almost over, much to her dismay. She had spent the past 2 weeks here, enjoying her time with Meruem and had finally got to pilot an ANGEL. The one thing that made it worse, was her breaking the news to Meruem.

"Hey Mer, I forgot to tell you something."

"Yeah?"

"I'm leaving tomorrow."

He dropped the cup he was holding, the contents spilt everywhere on the floor, and whatever he had in his mouth was dripping down as well.

"What?" He said fearfully.

"Yeah, the two weeks are over tomorrow. But, we can still call and text! Give me your phone, I'll put my number in."

"No, but- but we- we were- we were supposed to fly together."

"Fly together? Mer, I can't be a pilot. I'm a normal civilian, by law, I'm not allowed to pilot an ANGEL. I basically broke the law by piloting with you that one time."

He stood there shocked, he was working out an entire plan, and he was watching it crumble before his eyes.

"But- but we-"

"I want to fly with you too! You think I want to leave? But even if I could, my parents would never allow it!"

"I was just thinking of a plan! Can't you find a way that will let you stay here for just a couple more days?"

"Even if I could, what would I say? 'I need to stay because I don't want to go home to my parents', that sounds like a CPS case."

"You can't leave me Mel! I thought I finally had someone to pilot with, and now you're leaving!"

While they were panicking, an officer walked into the room and asked for them to follow him. They did so, and returned to the room where Meruem had strangled someone. The room was once again filled with people, but not angry people this time. Despite their calm faces, Melony had a feeling that inside, they were anything but calm.
