BACK AT STAR LABS...

2 DAYS LATER

Caitlin slowly opened her eyes, her hazy vision slowly adjusting to the light. She tried sitting up and saw Barry sleeping at her bedside. Cisco was sleeping at another bed a distance away from hers.

The sudden jerk she was caused as she stood up startled Barry awake.

"Hey, you're awake." Barry said as he stood up to move closer to her.

"Mhmnn. Errmm, how long was I out for?" She gave a low grunt in acknowledgement as she sat upright.

"Two days now."

He took in a deep breath, then continued, "About the previous fight with the...Consortium. I just wanted to apologize. I realize now that I have put the both of you in danger, I was rash to letting you guys confront meta-humans with little to no preparations."

"Barry..." She said, her eyes carrying some sympathy, "We only wanted to be of assistance. You needed all the help you could get. Imagine if we weren't there to help you out of that machine. The consequences that would have had on the city, on reality and...on you."

"Try to think about yourself too, from time to time. You need to be alive to be a hero, Barry." She said holding his hand as she flashed him a heartwarming smile.

Wells who walked in at that moment frowned in frustration. "You still can't deny that what he did was entirely wrong, and I did strongly advice you all. We wouldn't be here rendering apologies if we weren't as lucky."

"Next time. Try weighing the consequences of your actions before you run headfirst into them." He said, his annoyance boldly written over his face.

Barry took a deep breath and apologized, again. After dragging back and forth for a while, Wells finally left them alone again the room.

"So, how about Cisco?" She asked.

"Well, he's doing just fine. He woke up one day earlier than you. He went back to sleep one hour before you woke up."

They talked for a couple of minutes before she got tired again and went to sleep.

"Guess it's time to finally check those unread system messages." he said moving to the other side of the room.

He pulled up his system.

*SYSTEM UPGRADED*

*SHOP UNLOCKED*

Two high tiered enemies unlocked

Skill Points awarded: 3

There was a new skill greyed out at the skill section; 'Speedster's Rage'

He expanded the shop section. It was divided into two sections.

SHOP [Uses XP]

BUYABLE SKILLS

—Speed Force Claws [5,000XP]

—Vibrational Blast [4,500XP]

—Speed Camouflage [5,000XP]

—Time Duplication [7,000XP]

UTILITIES

—Energy Drinks [500XP per drink] [-requires dimensional ring-]

—Dimensional Ring [2,000XP]

He was startled. He read the description for the items and skills and none seemed bad to him.

The Time Duplication skill allows him to create duplicates of himself, definitely improving his battle prowess especially against multiple opponents.

The Dimensional Ring allows him the size of a room to store things and people alike.

He also noticed that he had enough XP to level up one time but he still hasn't leveled up.

'Since the shop also needs XP to buy skills. Maybe the system is not allowing me to freely manipulate my XP from now on' he mused.

'Honestly, that's for the best.'

While Barry was engrossed in the new changes that came with his system upgrades…

Wells got off his chair and went to a secret compartment in his hideout at the lab. He paused in front of it for a while.

"I've had enough of all these bullsh*t. The timeline has been altered greatly. But one thing remains certain. Allen is mine!"

"I guess it's time to proceed regardless of the situation."

He pulled the drawer open and brought out a yellow suit adorned with red bolts of lightning.

"Whether or not you're still my rival, let's find out." He said gripping the suit tightly.

Meanwhile at another part of Central City...

"Hmm... it seems like that was effective in the end."

"I had thought that it would've created a whole new timeline. One where he wouldn't have gained his abilities that made him a hero. But instead, it has driven him to become an even powerful adversary. Time travel is one messed up sh*t."

A man soliloquized in an empty building as he paced up and down.

"Let's kick things up a notch, shall we? Don't disappoint me, Flash."

He put on the headpiece of his suit, a menacing dark color. His eyes glowing a violent blue.
