CHapter 1: part 4

No one's pov:

"*Meow...*"

"Come back here Yumi..." A male's voice called as he followed the cat, She led him to the bench (Y/N) were sleeping at. "...Hm..? Hey." He looked down at her and tapped her shoulder. "Hey. Wake up kid." He shook her a bit and she slowly opened her eyes. She looked up at the tall male, her eyes still a little heavy. He was wearing a black hoodie, his black fluffy hair stuck out of the hood as he looked at her, he had purple scars on his face, and his eyes... They were a bright aqua blue, like Touya's..

(Y/N)'s pov:

'..My eyes are playing tricks on me again.... Get a grip (Y/N), Touya's dead. I need to accept that.' I said to myself as I sat up, I noticed the cat from earlier in his arms and purring as he pet it a bit.

"..What are you doing out here this late?" His voice was a little deep, but it was soft.

"..Oh, sorry. I must have fallen asleep..." I said and rubbed my eyes a bit.

"Obviously." He said sarcastically. "You shouldn't be out here this late, villains like to hang around here at night." I rolled my eyes at him.

"I can take care of myself thank you very much."

"Uh huh.. sure."

"I can!"

"Ya sure about that..?"

"Yes!! And i'm going to become a hero. A real hero!" I said, standing up and looking up at him. He looked down on me, his half lidded eyes widening a bit then he smirked at me. Why was he smirking at me?

"Good luck with that.." he chuckled as he put down the cat. "Go home and keep dreaming kid." He said then walked off into the night. I stood there in bewilderment, watching him leave and the cat followed him. 'Hmph..! What a jerk!' I stomped off as I headed back home.

The next morning I was exhausted, the entrance exam was only a couple days away. If I didn't get any rest soon I wouldn't be able to pass the exam.. and then Dad would hate me for the rest of my life.

"Hello? (Y/N)-chan? you still there?"

"H-huh? Y-yeah i'm here, sorry Natsumi-chan." I replied, her voice over the phone snapping me out of my thoughts.

"Jeez, I must be really boring if you keep spacing out like that." she joked a little.

"Hahaha sorry, I haven't been sleeping well recently."

"What, why not? Are you ok? Are your parents fighting again?" I could hear her worrying already.

"I'm fine, I'm still adjusting to being back. The city is a lot louder than at home." I lied.

"Oh.. Well I'm sorry to hear that."

"It's ok, i'll get used to it."

"Which one, the lack of sleep or the noise?" She said sarcastically. We both laughed, it felt good to hear her again. "*giggle* So have you gone to see Touya?"

I knew it was only time before she would ask that question.. I can't tell her the truth right now.

"Not yet, his younger siblings came over for a visit a couple days ago, but he couldn't make it." I lied again.

"Aw that stinks, but you'll see him soon."

"Yeah, soon.. I have to go now, I'll talk to you again once the exams are over."

"Ok, I know you'll do great cuz! Talk to you later!"

"Thanks, bye."

*click*

I let out a sigh as I lay my head on my pillows. 'I can't keep doing this.. I can't keep hiding in my room like a little girl. I'll have to face them sooner or later. I need to be stronger than that, I need to ignore the pain and just push forward..'

I sighed and got up and went down stairs. I heard my mom talking to someone as I walked down the stairs.

"Oh, here she comes. (Y/N), Shoto is here to see you." she said, coming to the stairs. I looked past her and saw him on the couch and he waved a bit. I smiled and waved back.

"What are you doing here Sho-chan?" I asked as I walked over to him, mom left into the kitchen.

"I wanted to know if you were ok." He said, looking down at the mug in his hands.

"..I've been better, but I'll be ok." I sat next to him.

"..He missed you you know....we all did, but I think it affected him more.." I looked down, clenching my hands a little.

"I missed you all too, I missed you all so much..." He glanced at me, and I smiled warmly. "There were times during my training when I wanted to give up and quit my dream..."I looked down to my hand and let a small bullet shaped orb form from my finger, it floated there and it gave off a warm glow. "But the thought of coming back, being able to see you all again.. was what motivated me to finish my training." I looked back at him and the glowing bullet faded away. "I owe you all so much." Still giving him a warm smile. He shook his head slowly and placed the mug on the table in front of us.

"You don't owe us anything (Y/N)-chan."

"*giggle* I know. That's why.." I hugged him softly. "This will have to do instead." He slowly hugged back. "And promise me that we'll both work our hardest to become heroes." He pulled away and nodded.

"I promise."

"*giggle* Pinkie promise." I giggled and held out my pinkie. He chuckled softly and wrapped his around mine. I smiled brightly and enjoyed the rest of his visit, we hung out in the livingroom and chatted for a while. He had to leave after a little bit so I walked him out. "Next time you visit we'll have to train together, I wanna see how strong you are." I said warmly. He nodded and waved before walking away, I waved too. Soon he was out of sight and I went back into the house. Dad was already out of his office.

"Are you done with your little tantrum..?" he said with a slightly cold tone. I looked at him, I was still angry but I knew I had to push forward.

"Yes."
