Iroga

One year has pass without any incident. I trained with Takeshi, Rolando and Matt. I'm the only one who trains without any clothes, because everything burns when I transform. The only think that keeping others to see my family jewels are the fire that envelopes my body. Matt is an earth diwata or Mondiale, Takeshi is a water diwata or Agua, Rolando is an air diwata or an Etere and I'm a fire diwata or an Apoy. This is our faction in the diwata society and our lives are depended on theses. If we want to use our element to its full potential we have to shift first, my ear is pointy, my eyes are red, also my lips and nails. It depends on the element we represent, and also my hair is on fire and my blood is as hot as lava. When we transform we are suspended two feet in the air, I don't know why. We can transform from Diwata and human. The only indication that we are not normal humans is our hair and blood.

The weird part is Light, he is one of a kind diwata as well as Shadow. Diwatas bestow Light the name of his being as Sinag and Shadow as Ombra. They are a complete mystery. When I asked Light about his past, he brushes me off and threatened me not to ask him again or he will castrates me. Lights ability is to summon lights, heal, read minds, telekenisis and to manipulate emotions. He can just manipulate weak emotion like enjoyment, pain, affection and anger. But he can't manipulate powerful emotions like hatred, love and sorrow. Shadows ability is to control shadows, possess humans and create virus or disease; it is useless for the Diwatas but destructive for the humans. He is also governing the fallen diwatas. And the two of them are immune to all elements; really… elements can't hurt them. The only things we can do are use weapons like swords and guns.

"Kelvin, can you please concentrate!" Light shouts at me, because I am the only one who can't control my elements that it is always spread like wildfire, thanks for Takeshi it is distinguished before my fire damaged something or hurt someone.

"I'm trying my best Light! It is freaking difficult!" I snap at him, summoning my fire is a piece of cake, but it is really hard to control.

"We are not even into the complicated training, yet you are struggling, I'm expected more of you Kelvin. Being Apoy is dangerous if you are not careful. This is it for the day, guys. I'm going to brief you all for your first mission as Four Child, come with me to the office except you Kelvin." This surprised me, why am I not included?

"Why can I be included for the first mission?" I ask Light.

"Because you can't even control your fucking element, that's why. Disaster will happen if you are included to this mission, train your element and then we talk." Light said to me before he leaves the training ground.

"Sorry bro, maybe next time." Rolando said to me in sympathy.

"Train well so you can come to the next mission with us" Takeshi encourages me, and Matt agreeing with him.

They get back into the house with Light, while I'm left to the training ground.

"This sucks." I muttered to myself looking to the burned training ground. Changing back into human self, I go back to the house into my room to sulk while they are discussing the first mission.

I can't believe one year has passed. We never encounter Shadow again, but we know that he is planning something; one year of silence doesn't mean that he's surrendering.

As I brood in my room, I notice my Apoy manual in my desk and cringe in embarrassment as a I remember what Light discusses with us last night…

We are watching TV that night when Light enters the Living Room and switch the TV off, ignoring our protest he stand in front of us. "Was anyone of you finished the book I gave?" When no one answers him, he sighed and tsked.

"I know this will happen, we will discuss one of the most important things of being a Diwata, your Iroga." Light said to us that make my curiosity peaked.

"Iroga is your better half, it will complete your elemental soul, and it will be human." I think I read that in the handbook. Iroga, my soul mate or something, but why it is human?

"Because Kelvin, you are born to human a parent. A child with human parents will have a human Iroga. And the child of a Diwata will have a Diwata as Iroga. It is the way, the nature of an Iroga. So even if you are a certified Diwatas, you will have a human Iroga because of your human parents." Light answers me, he always reads my mind. A beautiful, smug, and good for nothing Sinag. Yeah read my mind you bastard! And he just smirks at me, the nerve!

"Now to know if it is your Iroga, he will see an insignia in your forehead. And yes you have one, but it is hidden and can only be seen by your Iroga. If someone ask you about a glowing symbol in your forehead, tada! That is your Iroga. Only a Diwata have an Insignia, and the human doesn't have one. But if you want to know if it is really your Iroga, kiss him. There a certain feeling you will feel, I can't describe this for you, but you will know it for sure." Light is still smirking at me.

"Now to have a blessing by Bathala, you will have to do the rituals" He really is enjoying himself.

"What rituals?"

"Who is Bathala?" Takeshi and Rolando ask, the same time.

"Bathala is our Deity, He is the one who made us, don't pissed him off if you don't want to be punish like the fallen diwatas and believe me, he is real." Bathala huh, was he also the one who chose us to become Diwatas? I know that Light heard me in my mind, either he knows or not, he did not answer me.

"Now the ritual involves you and your Iroga under the full moon, at exactly 12 am. You guys will make a circle with your elements, and then you have to copulate in the center. This will make your elemental soul and his soul to intertwine as one. Giving him the ability to control and summon your elements, your elements became stronger ten times as before because the soul of your Iroga brings you more strength. When your soul became as one your lifespan will become one as well. When you die, he dies and vice versa, simple as that." The calming effect help us accept the result of the rituals, and it doesn't surprise me anymore. Why he is always saying HIM when he is talking to our Iroga? Then Light look at me smugly, waiting for me to voice out my question in my mind. Two can play in that game.

"Why it is you always saying him when you explaining about our Iroga?" Matt tries to hide his laugh but failed, Rolando blush, and Takeshi just keeps his calm, serene face.

"Because my dear Kelvin, all of you are gay. Are you trying to hide your sexual orientation?" Light really is enjoying this. You will going to pay for this, you mind reader, good for nothing, cheater!

"I ahm... I had a girlfriend!" I stutter trying to defend myself.

"Your way of hiding who you are,"

"No I'm not!"

"Yes you are!"

"Why do you trying to say that I am fudging gay!"

"Ooohh, you are still afraid to curse, lovely Kelvin, lovely."

"Well bullsh... aahh! Prove me that I'm gay!"

"Are you really asking me that, do you really want the others to know what you're thinking?" Light challenge me.

"There is nothing to fear Kelvin, we all are gay, no one will judge you." Matt tries to comfort me.

"Yes! I admit it! I'm attracted to guys, if you're calling me gay, be my guest, call me that for all I care!" and I walk out the scene, like a drama queen. DAMN

I stop reminiscing when the guys came out of the office. They looked grim, make me almost relieve that I'm not in the mission, well almost.

"Guys what is the mission? Can you tell me?" I ask them wondering what the problem is.

"The mission is still confidential to you until you can control your element, Light's order" Takeshi told me, he is still deep in thought. There something going on.

"Do you want to watch Tharntype? I swear the series are good, it can also help you adjust..." Rolando mutters as he switches the TV on and connects his laptop.

But everyone minds is elsewhere and I know what he wanted to watch, so I stand up and walk towards Lights office. I paused for a minute to breathe and knock.

"Come in Kelvin." I open the door to see Light lying on the sofa. He is clearly in stress.

"What do you want?" Light asked.

"You know what I want right? You just have to read my mind." I snap at him, I'm still pissed that I'm not included in the mission.

"I don't want to argue with you right now, I'm tired to even read your mind. Just tell me what you wanted, or so help me I going to throw you outside of this room." Light muttered while gritting his teeth, still never looking at me.

"I just wanted to know what the mission is. I'm not trying to be included or anything, but I can help."

This time, Light look at me, his eyes are tired and he looks older, well he is old, you get my drift.

"Hiding this to you is not a punishment Kelvin; we are just trying to protect you and the humans. As long as you can't control your element, you are weak and an easy target to Shadow. We don't want that. So please be patient and train hard tomorrow." I never said anything else; I just leave and slam the door, so much for being a Four Child.
