Chapter 11

As we come to the bottom of the stairs the front door opens and my parents come in with all our belongings. I lead Kayden over with me.

"Mom, Dad, this is my mate Kayden. Kayden these are my parent's, Mana and Ikaika."

My dad shakes his hand, and my mom gives him a hug.

"Nice to met both of you." Kayden says respectfully.

"Welcome to the Ohana." My mom says.

Suddenly Nohea runs past us out the front door, and Ezra is trying to chase after him. My dad grabs his arm, stopping him from following Nohea out of the house.

"You must be Beta Ezra." Ezra nods his head. "What did you say to my son?" My dad demands.

"We just talked, and he asked me some questions. He didn't like my answers."

I let go of Kayden's hand and run out of the house to make sure my brother is ok. I know he isn't going to go far; this is supposed to be his new pack. I pick up his scent and follow it into the forest. I find him hitting a tree, what in the world did Ezra say to him!?

"Nohea, what did he say?"

He turns to me panting. "I asked him questions about his girlfriend, well now ex-girlfriend. Just for me to find out he mated with her! They were even planning on marking each other once they graduated this year! I hate him, I'm sorry Lani I can't stay here. I'm going back home."

I'm shocked by his words; how could he have ended up with a mate as despicable and low as Ezra? I can't blame him one bit for wanting to go home, I would too if I was in his situation.

"Are you going to reject him before you leave?"

"I don't know." He lets out a sigh. "I'm so confused, I thought seeing him making out with that girl was bad. But after learning everything, I think I need time away from here to really think about it. I don't want to reject him because he is my mate regardless. But, at the same time it is cruel of me to leave without rejecting him- "

"You're leaving!?"

I turn around to see Ezra walking towards us.

"Yes." Nohea answers. "And I'll leave it up to you if you want me to reject you before I leave."

I watch the hurt and heart break show on his face. "No! I won't let you."

"Won't let me what? You're not my boss! I hardly want you as my mate!"

Ezra closes the distance between himself and Nohea, then grabs my brothers face and kisses him. All I can do is stand there shocked, after a second, I hear a moan and quickly recover my senses. I turn and run back to the pack house.

"What happened? Where's your brother?" My mom asks.

I shake my head. "He'll be back in a bit. Don't go looking for him! Right now, he is fine."

She gives me a confused look and I shake my head again.

"Let me show the both of you to your room." Kayden says to my parents.

We grab our bags and follow Kayden. He puts my parents in a room on the other end of the hall from our room. We leave my parents to get settled before returning to our room.

Kayden's POV

I watch Lani as she puts her things away, after a few minutes my mind begins to wonder. She spent a week in Alpha Lucas's pack, yet he didn't accomplish using her… did she resist, or did something change for him? She didn't fight our bond, does that mean she has no feelings for him at all? Does he have feelings for her?

As I'm lost in thought Lani waves her hand in front of my face. "What?"

"I asked if you are, okay?"

I nod. "Can I ask you something?"

"Sure." She sits next to me on the bed.

"What all happened between you and Alpha Lucas?"

I watch her take a breath before she tells me everything that happened this past week between the two of them.

"And then he promised to do whatever it takes to have me by his side. And then I found you."

I'm shocked, he really asked her to be his Luna before she even had the chance to find her mate. How could he do such a thing! I know he has found and rejected his mate, but that doesn't mean he can take such an opportunity away from mine.

"I'm sorry you went through all of that." I give her a side hug. "You don't have to worry though, because we have completed our bond, he'll never be able to come between us."

She gives me a smile before kissing me.

"I have been waiting to find you since I understood what mates are. Of course, I had no problem completing our bond! Finding you today made this the best day of my life."

"Mine too." I tell her. "And you don't need to worry about Lucas, if the moon goddess has mercy on him, she'll give him another mate."

She looks at me confused, "What do you mean another mate?"

"He found his mate last year and rejected her because she was a lower-level wolf. Her family did not hold a top position in their pack."

Horror and hurt are all I can see on her face. "He lied to me, he said he hasn't found his mate yet."

I grab her hands, "Let's not worry about Lucas for now, why don't we go get something to eat. Chances are you're carrying a pup now."

I get a smile in return, and she nods her head, and we head down to the kitchen. As we are cooking the front door opens, Nohea and Ezra come in. both of their appearances are disheveled, and I can easily tell the change in the both of them. I look to Lani, and she is furious.
