Chapter 6:Questions and Conspiracies

She scraped through the pages rather hastily but paying attention to every detail. Soon the pages elapsed and the book was closed, pushed aside. She took another and did the same thing.Nothing.And and another, the result was inevitable. The books to her right were forming a tower while those she was yet to read while diminishing. Before she knew it it was sunrise as the fiery flame flickered its rays through her window.Another say, huh? She said as she scoffed at the futility of it all. She then looked to her left again, there was one more book she hadn't looked over. The book was a manuscript worthy of its name."Alchemy and Magic by Marienne Sedai."Magic was long lost in the lands of the north, Makuol, it almost became a myth but a dark one that was borne of a derilious rumor festering it to a state of taboo, that of called Heresy. She blowed through it dusting the book of its layers of dirt. Honestly she was impressed that it had lasted for she could barely salvage the words written. It began, True magic is born of necessity...These words lingered on her unwaveringly as she remembered of a miracle in Wanda."Was that... Did I..."Of course she had many questions and conclusions in her head but she was not allowed for a blast was head as the door was set ajar.Several knights barged in at once as they brandished their swords in the air. She immediately recognized them as the knights of the holy triumvirate."You are Aurora of the house of Belmont?" The guard questioned."Yes and I want to know you would enter my room like that.""You are under arrest for the crimes of heresy and high treason. Take her."Aurora took a step back as she almost stumbled by the table. The guard at the front walked towards her, his eye focused on something, something on the table. He took it, the words were clear as day." She really is a witch! Take her! "* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * His hand banged the table violently, it was too abrupt that the men whimpered and scurried to the door but they could not leave not with his Deathly eyes fixated on them. His name was Nix, their boss and the leader of the Zect. A civil society, they liked to call themselves but they weren't at all civil. They murdered and stole claiming that they were destined to restore the natural order. One order in particular was the union of Wallace and Wallachia. A division of two kingdoms that were once one. But their ideological wasn't exactly peaceful. You see their base was in Wallachia, they planned to take Wallace by force. Their petition was ignored by the king for he too that the rumors were true that Wallachia was a cursed land. So the Zect decided to take matters into their own hands. "What do you mean it failed!?" Nix barked at the men who now looked like scared puppies. There was a pause as none was brave enough to deliver the news, especially this sort of news. One of them nudged the other who then flinched and the lot of attention turned to him." The men you sent to take her were found dead, sir""Pardon?""The ambush failed."It was a swift movement, too fast for the scout to respond and the next thing he knew he was held high by the scruff of his neck. "What of the target" Nix's eyes for a second flashed red. "We.. believe she... Got away, sire" Nix lowered his hand and let go of the scout. "Leave" he barked. When they left Nix saw that the room was empty but he could feel it. He was here. "I know you are there." Almost immediately a shadowy mist formed as a figure materialized from it. Nix smiled at the newcomer, "I assume you've overheard everything, Exile." The so called Exile seemed to be dressed in a cliak but looking down one could see that it wavered unnaturally like a mist of shadow. The cloak pretty much covered his body apart from the face etched with moving tattoos on the left side. The area around his eyes was dark making him look like a live sculpture. "Yes, What is it that you need me to do." "I want you to capture her before she reaches the capital or worse the castle." The shadows began to hover and disappear till Nix said, "Wait, don't kill her. It seems as if our princess Ezna is special just like you. Keep her alive, she may be of more use than she already is."
