the first night of the war

in the highschool for the city, we can see a young man with red hair and golden eyes inside one of the class rooms,

this was none other than Shirou, he had forgotten his note book in his class, that is why he had to come here at such a late hour,

"seriously, i wish nii-san would teach me his poket dimension magic so that i don't keep forgetting stuff" he mumbled as he walked out of the class, just as he was about to leave the building, he smelled magic being used nearby,

he immediately followed the sent to the school yard and was stunned to see Rin

but the reason for his surprise were the two servants fighting, one of them was dressed in blue and was using a spear, Shirou concluded that he was obviously the Lancer class servant, but the other servant was a mystery,

acting quickly, Shirou used tracing to copy their weapons into his reality marble,

unfortunately, his usage of prana was immediately sensed by both of the servants,

Shirou immediately used the reinforcement that his brother taught him and ran out at inhuman speeds,

lancer was hard pressed to follow the kid, but he was not called a servant for nothing,

"too bad for you kid, but i cannot have any loose ends" he said as he redied his spear to kill him,

suddenly, a portal as dark as the night itself opened up beside the kid,

Shirou immediately jumped into the spacial displacement that his brother called slip-space,

"GAE BOLG!!!" lancer used his noble phantasm but it was already too late,

as there was no target to pierce, the curse of reverse causality was rendered useless,

in the emiya household,

Shirou was sitting on his knees as a furious saber reprimended him

"this is exactly the reason why i told you to take me with you,if it were not for your brother sensing danger near you who knows what would have happened?" she shouted as Shirou seemed to shrink even more,

just as she was about to continue scolding him she was stopped by a hand on her shoulder,

she turned around to face her older version who had a small smile on her face,

" i know you are only trying to be a good servant, but you must remember to have moderation in everything, getting upset over an event that had already happened is useless" she said to which saber sighed and nodded,

however, the mature facade of ruler was broken when she turned to see her master, who had just come out of the shower and had no shirt on him,

at first, she blushed in embaressment at how ripped he was, but then her attention was caught by something else,

numorous scars littered his torso both on the front and back, some of them looked to be surgical scars while the most were from battles,

she could only imagine the kind of battles he must have had to attain such scars, but she knew that there was no point in asking, in a few days, they would know every one of the deepest secrets about each other thanks to the dream cycle,

Kurono sat on the couch with a lazy aura as he said

"still, i did not think that the war would start this soon,i mean the servants were only summoned yesterday, isn't it reckless to fight a battle without knowing more about one's own servant?, but i guess that's just how Rin is" he said while murmuring the last part,

it was only through luck that Kurono was able to save Shirou, he just happened to be testing one of his master class magic-sensor, this magic allowed him to sense everything in a 5km radius, that is how he was able to detect the attack on Shirou and open a slip space portal so accurately,

as they continued to discuss things, saber and ruler suddenly became alert as they both looked towards the same direction, saber immediately dashed out as ruler exclaimed,

"WAIT!! THAT IDIOT!!!" ruler then ran after saber,

Kurono and Shirou arrived just in time to see ruler use one of her command seals to forcefully stop saber from attacking Rin and her servant,

ruler sighed and mumbled,

"seriously, was i this impulsive in my youth? or is it because she is a different version of me?"

Kurono then groaned in annoyance and headed back in as Shirou broke out in cold sweat

the reason was none other than Rin as she had a smile on her face but that smile did not reach her eyes which promised great pain

"so, Shirou-kun, when were you going to tell me that you were participating in the war?"
