Chapter 13 – Busy Shop

Jake took Ben to a clothes shop; his outfit was dirty, and it was damaged. The farmer outfit is cheap compared with the other outfits. Jake went to the nearest shop and bought a set of clothes for him if he goes with is old outfit Donna will not allow him to enter her restaurant.

Ben was happy, he will have a new job, he bought a new set of clothes and he is going to have food. Ben felt a lot of gratitude toward Jake. He vowed to appreciate this opportunity and don't let Jake down, he will make his mum proud.

"Mum you don't have to worry about me any longer, you can go rest. I found someone who will take care of me. Rest in peace with dad"

Ben said it in his heart with a lot of gratitude, while looking at Jake back.

Jake entered The Bigs Eats restaurant. It was full of people everywhere, there is even a long queue outside the restaurant. Mike and Suzan look tired from all the serving. Donna, on the other hand, she keeps humming while cooking in the kitchen so must be very pleased. Jon was on the counter, he gave me an angry gaze. I think he's blaming me for leaving the shop and not helping.

"Jon I can see the shop is busy if want any help just ask," Jake said while moving fast he doesn't want to be held by Jon.

Jake went to the kitchen; the restaurant is full of people so he doesn't want to take a table and obstruct the flow of people.

"Donna your face looks so excited, you need to calm down or you will get sick, hahaha" Said, Jake, while telling Ben to sit on the table.

"Jake, thanks to you the restaurant is full of people, they keep complaining because there is no much space for them. The customers eat my food with a big smile on their faces, this was my dream, to satisfy the customer with my cooking talent."

Donna was over the moon, she really feels happy, she never imagined that her dead restaurant will come back to life and it all because of Jake. She then noticed a kid came with him.

"Jake, who is this kid with you? "

"His name is Ben, he will be helping me in the farm. I found him in the corner of the market street in a poor condition, his family used to have a farm and he will be a great help to me"

Jake told Donna everything about Ben story. She felt very sad for him. He is still a child and he lost his family what a tragedy.

"Don't worry about it, he will come and live with me. Anyway, we came here for lunch, we are very hungry, and we wanted to taste some of your delicious dishes."

Jake and Ben sat together at an empty table. While they were waiting for their food, Jon came out of nowhere and sat beside them. He just wants to run away from the busy area, his head hurt him so badly, so when he saw Jake coming he followed him.

The dishes came to the table one after another, the smell of the dishes makes you feel hungrier. The table soon becomes colourful, it was covered with different kind of dishes.

"Ben eat to your full, don't be shy, I know that you are hungry, so don't you care about anything except eating, you need to eat so your muscles grow and your body has the strength for working in the field."

Jake felt like a big brother. They start eating, enjoying every dish that was made from Jake farm; Soups, main dishes like herb- potato and the Fried Apples. The dishes taste was good, but they are missing something, there were no spice, like curry, chilly or black pepper spices. I need to find them to make the food taste better.

Ben was hungry, he kept eating, he never tasted such a delicious food before, every dish as its own flavour, when the food enters his stomach he feels warm and his inside feels happy about this good dish. He was crying while eating he was remembering the last time he ate food with people, not dirty food that was a waste no want to eat it. His last meal was before they take the journey with his parents, they ate the last meal on the farm. He remembers it. At this moment he missed his parent, he promised himself that he will look forward, but he couldn't.

"Donna cooking becomes better than before, you sure have the talent. It will not take long until you became famous in the town."

Jake really can see a difference in the food between today and yesterday.

"Thank you very much, but still if this kept going I will be tired to death, I will look for someone to help in the kitchen and outside so that we can keep up with customers."

Donna has been really tired since the opening of the shop today until now she didn't take any break, she feels tired.

"Don't worry, we will take it baby steps, bringing people to help, expanding the restaurant and make it the number one in the world."

Jake really wants to make this restaurant the best in the world or how could he build his empire with a normal shop. He wants to expand it to the four-floor restaurant. The common floor for the common people, the Silver floor for special people, the Gold floor for the important customers like nobles and rich people and the VIPs Floor is for some people who will fit the bill and be handed the VIPs ticket, but it will be expensive.

"Two or Three days from now we will interview some new worker to help us. Don't worry hon, the shop earns a lot, so you don't need to worry, just focused on cooking, you are the backbone of this restaurant"

Jon was surprised when he came this morning, the shop was full of people, a lot of complaining about the space or when we are going to eat. He needed to solve all these problems. The kids Mike and Suzan were under a lot of pressure and the couldn't handle it.

"Jon, I will come and do the counter work, but I have something to do these days, about two to three days if you could cover me it will be good, I know you are a busy person"

Jake needed to take care of the farm, so no one could question him, and he needs to show Ben how to work on the farm.

"It's okay, I can manage three days, but no more I don't care if you have any excuse I won't accept it."

Jon is really pissed off.

After the meal, Jake told Ben to help Mike and Suzan outside. Jon went back to the counter and Donna kept cooking.

Jake left the shop and continue his journey to find ropes. After ten minutes of walking, he found a shop and bought some. After that, he kept strolling around until it was time to go home.

They ride the wagon and went back to the farm, Mike was driving while Jake and Ben were sitting at the back.

When he entered the house, he found his mum in the kitchen making dinner, Jake left some vegetables and fruit in the kitchen, so the house will have some food they can eat. Jake gave his mum a scarf, he found it while strolling around the town. He told her about Ben story and that he is going to live and work here now. His mum cried after knowing the bad fortune that Ben had, she kept hugging Ben telling him it alright, nothing bad will happen to you anymore.
