Chapter 16 : The Curious Coroner
Blair’s POV
My lips tingle. I can feel Raven’s firm hand pressed against my side. Every part of me feels like I’ve grabbed a life wire, completely electrified, unable to let go. My heart is fluttering like a caged bird in my chest. My mind feels completely numb, ready to succumb to the will of another. My eyes lull momentarily as a momentary rush floods over my body.
The sound of the supply room door’s squeaky hinge snaps me out of my daze. I whip my head around and see one of my fellow nurses rushing into the room, snatching a handful of gauze packets and then rushing back out of the room, door screeching behind him.
I look back to the shelves and really have to concentrate on why I came in here in the first place.
