Chapter 7: Personal Secretary

Everything gradually started to set in it's own place as time passed by.. it's been two months since Jason passed away.. Jessica was now 8 months pregnant so Juliet appointed a personal nurse for her. Her granny takes care of Lisa while she is away to work and when she is home she takes care of Lisa by her own..she became a second mom to Lisa. Lisa also clings to her very much...she loves her dearly.

But in between all of these one thing was exhausting Juliet very much..the works and her company. Her company.."Dreams" was first started by her great grandfather and by the time now she was the president of it and the chairwoman was her grandmother, Selena.. it was a multinational company which deals with the A.I. Technology, Telecommunication, I.T., Financial Sectors, and many more. Juliet was a successor of this company and she was competent too.. she had her degree of majoring in Computer Science Engineering from one of the prestigious universities in the world and she was also a very capable A.I. scientist herself. Her great grandfather dreamt about the future life and technologies so her grandfather and dad invested their whole life working on the company's growth..now it was time for Juliet to make them feel proud by leading "Dreams" to a next generation's dream company for working on the future technologies.

But after Jason passed away Juliet didn't appoint anyone as her personal secretary..so as a result she had tons of work to settle down at her company by herself.. she used to leave for the company at 6 a.m. and return at 8 p.m. as she had to take care of Lisa as well. The rest of the work she was doing from home after 10:00 p.m. when Lisa went to sleep but because of this hectic schedule she did not get much sleep which resulted her health deterioration.

Selena woke up in the middle of the night to get a glass of water and saw the lights of Juliet's room is still on so she entered her room.. she saw a lot of paperworks, documents and files are left open on her bed and she was sitting on the bed resting her head on the headboard while working on her laptop.

"Juliet! It's 2:30 a.m.!! When will you go to sleep..do you really want to die this much!!! Have you seen yourself in the mirror these days!!! You look like a ghost..dark circles under your eyes, tiredness all over you is so evident..at this rate you will surely exhaust yourself to your bottom extent!!"

Juliet flinched to hear yelling at this hour but not much of an expression she gave. She just said " I'll go to sleep after I finish this last one.. don't worry I'm alright"

Selena was really angry but she didn't say anything because she knew Juliet was not gonna listen to her so she left the place. Juliet continued working..

The next morning when the maid entered Juliet's room for cleaning..she didn't saw anyone..afterwards at the breakfast table when Selena asked if she took breakfast before going to work..the maid replied " No.. it's been a week now that she is skipping her breakfast at home and told me everytime that she will eat at the company". She was already very angry at Juliet for her workholic behaviour but skipping breakfast made her mad with anger.

It was about 3'o clock in the afternoon.. Lisa was playing with Selena on the living room..when the doorbell rang.. The maid opened the door reveling Ms. Miya and Juliet.. Juliet was half asleep and Ms. Lina was carrying her by shoulder..

After putting Juliet into her bed Selena and Miya came down..they sat on the table while Selena offered coffee to Ms. Miya.

"It's been a whole month that ma'am has started working excessively, she is always in a bad mood..even the employees are very much scared of her now.. she isn't appointing anyone as a secretary also so the work pressure is too much for her" Miya said everything that was going on to Selena.

"Hmm..I think now I've to do something to make this girl stop overworking herself!" Selena said with determination.

At around 6'o clock Juliet regained her consciousness completely.. she opened her eyes and saw Selena sitting on the edge of her bed and Jessica on the chair.

" Are you happy now?" Selena asked her in an angry tone..

"Sorry granny..it will not happen again.."

" Yes it'll not because you are having a secretary from the next day on.. I already told Miya to find the best candidates for this job and hold a interview tomorrow for your personal secretary's post and I believe as a chief managing director she is capable of finding a suited one for this post.. ." Selena said in a stern voice. Juliet was about to say something when Jessica interrupted her.." Juliet, I know why you are not appointing a personal secretary..but you need to understand that we all need you...and if you will exhaust yourself this much and fall ill then do you think Jason will be happy to see you like this!?" Juliet didn't say anything because she knew she was overworking herself for over a month now.

Jessica continued " please appoint someone in that place......As Jason is not here..... It's my duty to protect you as well.." Jessica came and sit on the bed. Juliet hugged Jessica and said "ok, I will".

" May I come in ma'am?" A male voice was heard in the office room of Juliet. Miya was there as well. Juliet looked at the direction of the voice and found...."You!!!" Miya was shocked hearing this from her. "Do you know her ma'am!?" Miya questioned Juliet.

"Y..yes sort of" Juliet replied.

Then Miya said having faith in her decision.."Oh! Then it is for the best I guess.. Ma'am this is Duke, your Personal Secretary from today onwards".
