Chapter 10: First Shower
Duke has shifted to Juliet's house for 2 days now... so these two go to home together after work... Duke spent his off time playing with Lisa.... He likes Lisa very much.... because for him only the children are the true messenger of the God...they don't lie and say what is in their heart. He got along with other members of the house as well.... everyone likes him,his nature and behaviour.... moreover Duke also feels some kind of pulling towards these human creatures of this house now what he didn't experience in the past....he always thought that they are greedy, only wants good things and complaint to god about every bad thing they go through in their life.... but in the reality he never got tangled up with any of them ever.
But now he started to think that Humans are not that bad, they also have a lot of conscience, positive sides and moreover they have the most precious things in this world "Emotions", which was lacking in any kind of supernatural beings cause they are bound to a rule, a duty that they need to complete and report to their superior....but for Humans it was not like that....they think over everything, they love, they cry, they cherish their moments....every single good and bad things, they express themselves, they break the universe's rules and make it their way to find the little happiness...
Yes they do complaint but they also say thank you to the God for what they've been given already....they want to enjoy every moment of their life with their close ones....they don't want to have regrets in their life..... though Duke never thought it this way but living with this family was cultivating a new thing in Duke's heart and that was "Emotions & Attachments". This new feelings in his heart was growing up in complete silence...even in his own unawareness. Duke started to understand Human Beings and their complex emotions....he stopped resenting these small but most wonderful creation of God's.
Two months passed in the busy schedule of them having a office to home and home to office trips. In the meantime Jessica gave birth to a healthy little baby boy.... The house was full of his little smiles and cries time to time. The baby was very fond of Juliet as well alike his elder sister. So Jessica suggested that Juliet should name the baby boy as she was providing for them for this whole time so she named him Richard, it was her father's name. Juliet loved her father the most so she named him of his. Duke and Juliet used to play with both of them after coming back to the home. Jessica also joined her new job 2 days ago as she wanted to get herself busy so that she can get over the sadness of loosing her Jason. Juliet and her grandmother also appreciated her. Everything was coming back to it's place gradually.
Today it was 10 minutes passed 11 p.m., Juliet had a pile of work to deal with so they were delayed to go home than the usual time. They just got out of the office and Duke went to get the car....some little changes happened in these past few days..... After that day when Duke saved Juliet in the parking lot..... Juliet used to grow a special fondness and respect towards Duke... and also as a personal secretary Duke was most eligible and competent so after 1 month of that incident Juliet started to sit in the front seat next to driver's.... at first day Duke was surprised but Juliet said that they are together for most of the times of the day and it will be much easier to work with a friend than a boss.
So after that, they started talking casually when they're off work.... Duke was very efficient in his work...every details of what she eats, drinks, where she goes, whom she meets, everything was solely handled by him....Juliet also felt very comfortable and at ease around him as well.. For Duke who didn't had a fondness for any human being...now it was a complete different story with a busy schedule of Juliet....he was not forced but he did all his work whole heartedly. They were becoming friends through these events of life.
Juliet was waiting outside of the montrous building next to her. Duke came with the car and opened the door for her...they went in and set off for home. Juliet started the conversation saying "Sorry Duke....for me you had to wait this late.." Duke smiled gently and said "that's the duty of mine....to attend you as your shadow everywhere and everytime"..... Juliet smiled back...."You know today it was saying that it's going to rain...."
Duke replied "then we should head back as fast as possible."
Juliet didn't like the reply because rain was one of her favourite things so she said.."Who said I'm going home if it starts raining!!!....." Duke's eyebrows knitted together as he said "What!?"
Juliet let out a baby chuckle and expressed with joy " I want to dance under the rain..... want to play with it to my heart's content..... after all it's the first shower of the season!"
