Chapter 31: The Guilt

It was Monday morning for the last two nights after the incident outside the nightclub and after they got back home from the sports meet competition Bharat was having these nightmares again and again thus he did not have proper rest for the last two nights.

He recalled his past days in Rajgarh Town and thought how good were the days when he was with his friends in his hometown. He remembered how his friends Abhimanyu, Karthik, Aarav and Pallavi and himself with all of them together used to go on short picnics sometimes in the park and other times in the nearby hilly forest and thought how happy they were together.

He also thought how he used to live happily at his home with his parents which were also their ancestral home.

He recalled that because his father was employed by a reputable company in Rajgarh Town, they had a happy and quiet life. They had so much influence there in the Rajgarh Town as everyone used to look at his dad Mr. Brahma with so much respect and love.

They had an ideal life there however everything was destroyed once his father lost his job and then it turned out to be a nightmare. Because his father worked there in International Premier Bank (IPB) for twenty years and was in his prime and would have liked to work many more years however he was just terminated like that all those years of hard work and being so loyal to the company did not count at all. Since not only his father was terminated from the company where he worked for so many years but also it was like he was blacklisted there and he could not find job anywhere not only in the banking industry however no company will hire him now since the crime lord who had great influence there had threatened all the hiring companies of the severe consequences if they hire Mr. Brahma. It was like mini sanctions which had been put on his dad.

After this even Bharat had to go through severe consequences since once Bharat completed his schooling even he was facing issues getting admission into the colleges and then due to so much pressure and tension his Dad had a heart attack which was like the biggest nightmare of their life.

When his Dad was admitted in the hospital it felt like everything had come to an end and there was no way out since no one came to help them at that crucial point of time. Thankfully they had done their medical insurance in time due to which they got by the situation somehow.

However for Bharat it was like the life had endless sorrows in store for him since once his dad was out of danger they had decided to move out of Rajgarh Town so before moving out he thought of meeting his childhood love to inform her about his temporary relocation from the Rajgarh Town since he loved her dearly as he thought that she might have missed him very much because they had not seen each other for a few months due to various issues.

But when Bharat went to college again to meet with Pallavi this time he was flabbergasted to find that his love who was also his childhood friend would betray him and cheat on him for a boy like Dennis who was not liked by any of his friends as Abhimanyu, Aarav, Karthik or himself. Even though she never liked him, now she made Dennis her boyfriend and her opinions about Bharat had also changed and she seemed like a completely different person.

Nonetheless Pallavi was his childhood friend so even if she betrayed him he would not like to see her unhappy so he let her continue her relationship with Dennis and didn't get involved in it.

After that they had to leave their home town which was more sentimental and closer to their hearts.

The reason for all these sorrows was one and only the crime lord and why did he punish his family because his Dad was just doing his duty of reporting financial crime since he was an Anti Money Laundering Officer. Just because it did not serve his interest and his dad was an obstacle on his way the crime lord punished their whole family and forced them to leave town.

Similarly as per the rumors circulating that Suresh Singh he also seemed to be very ruthless and had a habit of tormenting his victims through various methods of mental or physical ways.

He had also forced his victims to either leave town with their families or commit suicide and if he causes a road accident like the other day nobody could put a finger on him as police was already on his side.

So in all these aspects both the crime lord of the Rajgarh town and Suresh Singh of Rajgarh Metro city who was the son of an MLA were very much the same. So till the time these kinds of people were there in this world people will get bullied and they will suffer and the world will not be able to become a better place to live.

The problem was these kinds of people were extremely powerful and they had high status and were too influential. With one small gesture they can do anything in their society.

No one has the guts to take action against them and if somebody is brave enough to raise their voice then they are silenced through brute force. Even the system is not helpful to the common people. So where can the common people go to seek justice?

The only way was to become powerful enough to resist these kinds of people and to become powerful he has to become rich and more influential so that he can help the victims and his family so that his parents do not have to go through all those hardships again and they can return to their home town and live in their ancestral home also he wanted that no other victims had to go through all that which him and his family had gone through by leaving their home.

Basically Bharat was feeling guilty that he was powerless and could only see when he and his parents had to leave their hometown and he was constantly thinking about the solution to rectify this if somehow this can be changed and they can return to their previous state of wellbeing.

 At this point of time Bharat was in the one bedroom rented apartment in which he and his parents lived. In which they had one Bedroom, one kitchen, one living cum dining room and one bathroom which was adequate for the family of three however when compared to their Bungalow in Rajgarh Town this was too small so he used to miss his home town a lot.

Also they had a home here which was bought by Mr. Brahma for his brother Mr. Bhaskar and his family since at that point of time his brother did not have a job and was not doing so well so Mr. Brahma arranged a job in Police as well through his connections since he was in International Premier Bank and had good influence. The house which was bought for Mr. Bhaskar had adequate space to accommodate Mr. Bhaskar's family, their parents and Mr. Brahma's family as well for a few months however due to the attitude of her aunt and cousin sister they had to move out.

Bharat did not have any complaints about his uncle and aunt as this was usually the way of the world when you are strong and influential people will be friends with you to take advantage of you and once you lose all power and have no influence people seem to forget you and will not come for help.

Bharat promised himself that he will become more powerful and more influential in future so that he can fulfill the dreams of his family of returning to their previous state of life by returning to the Rajgarh town and leading a better life.

However he did not have much time to dwell on these things as today was Monday morning and he had to go to college so he got up from bed freshened up and readied himself.

After having a quick breakfast of homemade chapati with lentils and French fries he went to college.
