Chapter 25: A Shocking Victory

Even the commentator was commenting only of the first three people however then he noticed what was happening at the other end of the players as a big change was happening there the commentator said "It seems Dennis is still on the lead followed by Rahul and Peter however it is such a close run wait a second there seems to be interesting development happening at the other end of the race since the last contender Bharat who was left behind by such a huge gap and even fell over has got himself up and even crossed the eleventh rank Deep and tenth rank Laxman still he seems to be not stopping there."

The commentator further continued: "This boy Bharat seemed to be a trash in the beginning however we have to say that he has quite a sporting spirit as he seems to be severely injured and dripping with blood from his forehead and body still he is able to show so much energy and compete and now he is crossing Akash to take his ninth position also such a great talent even though he is injured he is still struggling to keep up in this race."

Due to this sudden change of event at the back of the race and after the commentary was made everyone's attention seems to be going there and nobody seems to be looking towards the first three positions anymore.

Mary, who was content and relaxed that Bharat will have a humiliating defeat, noticed this small development and frowned as she thought "What is this Bharat trying to do as there is no chance for him to win the race anymore?"

Pallavi also saw Bharat overtaking the players and thought that Bharat was struggling not to become the last person in the race as she sighed and thought "Look at this Bharat how he is struggling to not be the last person in the race to avoid a humiliating defeat. I knew him for so long he was never an athlete, but he took part in this competition to win me over. I warned him so many times in Rajgarh College and also in the train to not pursue me anymore as we are altogether in different status but he still had to do so now that he did he cannot blame me for his suffering since he did this to himself."

The commentator said: "Wow it seems Bharat has been motivated due to some reason as now he seems to be beating the ninth rank Akash and then crossing the eighth rank Sean also overtaking seventh rank David and sixth rank Damian which has brought Bharat from the twelfth rank to sixth rank which is a upgrade of six ranks that's absolutely astounding however so much efforts seems to be in waste since already 15 seconds of the race has passed and now the rest of the five candidates seems to be approaching the finish line in next five or six seconds."

Then Mary sighed and said to her friends: "Humph Look at this boy struggling to survive his speed has increased by a lot it seems if only he showed this kind of speed from the beginning, however now half the race is already over and the efforts are futile as he is going to lose this race."

The commentator further continued: "What an amazing comeback look at this now Bharat has crossed the fifth rank Iyer and the fourth rank Saravanan also the hero of RMU college Peter is left behind by Bharat and now it seems he is in a tie for the second spot with Rahul as the leading man Dennis is still a few inches away from him."

As soon as the commentator said this there was a flash of worry in Mary's eyes as all her evil plans to humiliate Bharat will not succeed since if Rahul was not able to beat Bharat in the sprint competition they will not be able to ask Bharat to leave also he will become popular in this college which will be more troublesome for them.

Bharat was feeling his body was as light as a feather and he has immense stamina so he had exerted as much strength as possible to win this race.

The commentator said: "And now only two seconds are left and it seems Bharat has already crossed Rahul and took the second spot and with that the finish line has been touched by oh it seems both Bharat and Dennis had touched the finish line at the same time since it is not clear we have to replay the scene again to see who touched the finish line first in the camera."

Pallavi who was listening to all the commentary and looking at the live scene was astounded by what she was seeing as she never expected Bharat to be on par with Dennis in terms of sprint competition in sports since she distinctly remembers that in school though Bharat had a good physique however he never won any medal in sports nor participated in any sprint competition before so she was clueless as to how did Bharat manage to come this far that he has almost taken the first spot from Dennis in this sports meet competition.

The replay was played in slow motion on the big screen in the stadium of sports meet competition and the commentator said: "Okay guys now the replay is getting played and let's see who touched the finish line first is it Dennis or Bharat so as we can see Dennis and Bharat are running on par with each other followed by Rahul and finally Bharat has touched the finish line first. Great with this a new history has been created for the GCU college as they were able to break the winning streak of the CU college. Ohh this race was not any less interesting than a roller coaster ride of thriller and adventure."

The commentator further said: "This was an extraordinary race which we have witnessed full of thriller since in the beginning it seemed like every year the first three spots will be taken among Dennis, Rahul and Peter and then the rest will follow and as for Bharat he seemed to be left at far behind by his peers and then he fell down and got hurt on his head and body which led him to bleed from his forehead. Still he got up from that position and overtook the entire contestant to become the first rank candidate and become this year's champion of the Sprint race competition."

As the commentator was narrating the whole race the spectator's eyes were filled with amazement as they had been the witness of such a great show that night.

In the stands Mary was speechless since all her evil plans were spoiled by this scum of Bharat since Bharat won the race and Beat Rahul who took the third position in the race not even the second position. She was really disappointed by Rahul since she thought Bharat would definitely not be able to beat Rahul in the sprint competition.

On the other hand Pallavi was unable to believe herself what she has witnessed as she never dreamed that Bharat, her childhood friend who never won any medal in any of the sports competition in school will be this year's champion in the sports meet competition and beat her new boyfriend Dennis. She was feeling anger due to Bharat's win and a bit of jealousy since Bharat was not her boyfriend anymore.

Pallavi thought: "So what if you win a small race these are just games and you are still not comparable with Dennis since in terms of wealth there is a hell and heaven difference in between you two."

Once the result was announced and it was clear that Bharat had won the first place in the sprint competition it was like a heavy burden had been taken off from his shoulder as he was under a lot of mental pressure since if he lost to Rahul then it was the end of his college life.

Now that he took the first place not only did he beat Rahul he was able to snatch the first place from Dennis who also happened to be the man who took his girlfriend.

Finally for Bharat it was confirmed that he was going to start his college life for which he had to struggle so much and no one will be able to stop him now from doing so that was the reason he felt happier and calm in his mind since along with him his parents have also suffered a lot.
