Chapter 20 Making Preparations

Jack woke up to the next day with a hopeful smile. Hoping that the next week would bring surprises to him. Hoping that another dragonoid would evolve and hoping for something different to happen. His hope was purely optimism for the future.

Observing his divine realm over the next week Jack continued his streak of blessing creatures and watching over the fights. Even participating in a few to practice his own skills.

While managing his divine realm and training the dragonoids in more advanced combat techniques and teaching tactics to the leaders Jack was also contemplating what card to use for the second slot.

He would wait for the monthly tournament to make his final decision as the reward could be a good fit or could be traded for something that would fit well.

Though Jack also considered his teacher's offer since having something his peers didn't would give him a massive advantage.

He would save every card from the tournaments that wasn't a perfect fit for his realm. Cards such as class and skills that blended super well was what Jack considered perfect fit. An expansion card to the realm wasn't a perfect fit as it wasn't something super rare or transformative.

Having just more kobolds wouldn't change a whole lot especially when he will participate in multiple tournaments and in each have the chance for getting rewards like the expansion card. Even though the expansion card is expensive it isn't rare. Probably every tournament will have the card for the number 1 spot at least.

Also the expansion card is like a universal currency for trading since everyone needs it. Trading it for a class or skill would be worth more in the long run.

Resources in general are useful but besides high rarity cards the cards wouldn't be worth more than just increasing the population by getting a staple food source through grain.

Tools and weapons aren't needed since he can craft his own with the iron mine he has.

So overall the Jack planned to use wheat for his next card unless he got something perfect.

Organizing the tribe to craft more tools using materials that weren't iron so as to save the resource.

Creating the two full set of armor for the dragonoid was a big event that used most of the iron and the rest was organized for making arrows and weapons for the dragonoids.

The weapons kobolds use are far too small to be used by the dragonoids so new ones will have to be made.

Jack overseeing his realm for the next week went without issue or surprise to the sadness of Jack but after another class and meeting between friends Jack started to prepare his final preparations for war.

Organizing the tribe to continue death battles for three days and then on the fourth day death battles would be discontinued temporarily for war. So he would have about 500 adult kobolds for war when the monthly competition began.

Organizing the smiths to continue making arrows alongside the crafting of bows for about 100 archers who Jack would train in the coming days.

No armor was created for the kobolds but strong weapons and shields were created in which the kobolds routinely practiced drills to train the kobolds in formations, marching and commanding.

With the competition getting closer Jack grew more nervous though he knew his realm was strong he didn't expect to be number 1. Since others were born with a higher platform than him he expected a tough battle ahead.

Not knowing of what the competition would be Jack prepared all sorts of food reserves defenses and traps around the camp. With years to prepare Jack was able to create a strong fort with barricades due to no wood for walls and all sorts of pitfalls, traps and trenches outside with high platforms for the archers.

Though if the preparations will be useful is yet to be seen. Jack just hoped that it wasn't a siege though extremely unlikely was the last thing he wanted to happen.

Final preparations were made and Jack went to sleep knowing he did everything he could.

Waking up the next day with worry written all over his face Jack entered his cabin to head towards his classroom.

Finding himself inside the familiar classroom alongside his two friends and classmates who he got to know over the past few weeks. Though he had been with them since elementary school he didn't know their realms and roles.

Everyone nervously waited for their teachers to arrive as the silence continued with occasional whispers.

Eventually with two flashes of light the teachers appeared at the front of the class.

"Hello students and today is your first exam." Mr.Hai started off clearly causing every kid's stress level to increase.

"Don't worry no matter how you perform you won't fail out of the class" Mr.Hai said trying to ease the tension though his words clearly did no such service.

Realizing that his words didn't help he decided to take the kids to the main hall.

With a brief break everyone found themselves inside a great wide hall where the class was organized in a group with the teachers at the front. Seeing the other classes the students in their class started whispering.

With the arrival of another class soon after a loud voice soon shifted the attention of the students to the front where the main teachers of every class were. A tall black haired man was speaking.

"Hello students today you all will be tested under the supervision of the teachers and their aids." His first sentence was understood by everyone and had no new information.

"Today's test will be a single fight against a impossible enemy and your job is to take as many with you as possible. Timing has no place in the grading and only kills will count. Don't worry this will be virtual and your believers will be unharmed." The teacher announced to the students who clearly looked shocked not expecting this to be the first trial. Though its simple the fact that the believers will remember what happens can be painful to the faith of everyone.

The teachers quickly organized everyone into their own separate virtual dimensions breaking up the outcry as the students were teleported away.
