1-5: Fear

Fear. We all had a fear of something. Some feared animals, others feared judgement, but never did Hans think he'd be fearing a bunch of pirates. He had successfully made it to the top, where the wind threatened to throw him into the sea. He looked down to see the pirates quintuple checking everything. How could they be so insistent? He simple sat and waited. Eventually, they finally gave up, and started to board their ship again. Once they finally left, Hans slid back down and found the man downstairs, tied in a chair.

"They thought this would kill me faster. Thank God I have you here!" Hans quickly untied him and then decided on his next move... which would be to go back to the wheel. This was feeling more and more like a task than a favor. He was fighting the urge to just leave but he couldn't. He didn't know why. It felt wrong. So, he took a deep breath and started steering. He looked out onto the open sea, and took in the beautiful dark purple of the sky.

"This is nice" He thought.

...

Was this nice? What was he going to gain from this? Pride? And even so, what if the memory ended before he could find his home? It would have all been for nothing. He knew what he had to do.

He heaaded down to the sleeping quarters where the man laid. "Hey, can you uh, tell me about your home?" Even though Hans was usually put to sleep by the man's stories, he liked to talk to him. It calmed him down. "Well, I've already told you we live on the cliff sides, but I never told you what is at the top. If you can survive the climb, it is said that you can actually reach the stars from there." That sounded nice, THAT was nice. It gave him a reason to keep going. He wanted to touch the stars, that would be his goal.

He would keep going.
