Chapter 04: Training with Mother

Today is a new day for me. As usual, I would wake up at 4.00 a.m. After that, I would do a series of physical exercise to keep my body fit. Then, I would go back to my bedroom to paint. I usually did that to relieve my stress.

When it was 6.30 a.m., I took a bath and rushed to the dining room to have my breakfast. I tried to look for my father, however, he wasn't there. I saw the other family members, such as my mother, Vali and his mother, Uncle Razevan, as well as Grandpa Rizevim.

The absence of my father became a matters for me. Since the day when Mother advised me to reconcile with my father, I was always haunted by a negative thought in which I wouldn't be able to have chances to say sorry to him.

My father said that he would go for a week because he was assigned by Grandpa Rizevim to infiltrate to Vampire Faction. However, it's been nine days from the day when he left and he didn't come back home yet.

Actually, I had known from Mother that Father would come back home in ten days which meant tomorrow. She said to me that he had sent her a letter and asked her to tell about it to me. But still, that guilt feeling continued to haunt my heart. I wanted to say sorry to him as soon as possible.

After I finished my breakfast, I went to the traning ground to train my power and abilities. My father entrusted my training to my mother during his absence. So, I temporarily underwent my training with my mother's supervision.

Unlike my father who often focused on my strength, my mother set her focus on training my creativity and intelligence when I performed my abilities. For example, she would push me to create various new techniques of my demonic power rather than instructed me to perform just one powerful technique.

"Come on, My Son. Shape your demonic power into anything besides sphere and bullet!"

I could only sigh after hearing my mother's command.

"But, it's hard, Mother. It's not as simple as you said." I complained

I saw my mother approached me. She then softly hit my head with her fan.

"Who have taught you to complain? Neither I or your father do that. So, don't ever complain in front of me."

"Alright, Mother."

I concentrated my mind and charged my demonic power into my hand. I imagined to create a spear like the fallen angel. I read that it was a special ability of that creature and I found it kinda cool, so I gave it a try.

"Hyaaah!"

Slowly, the demonic power on my hand began to take a shape like spear. It's size was as big as my palm.

Seeing what I've done, my mother said, "What a cool shape! Are you trying to create an arrow? Or a dart?"

"I tried to make a spear, Mom. Just like the fallen angel."

I flowed more demonic power into my hand. As the result, the spear got bigger. However, it then exploded. The explosion didn't endanger me, but it gave my hand a few of scratches.

"Damn! I've failed." I muttered.

"Failure is a common thing that happen when you train your power, My Son." My mother threw a smile at me, trying to comfot me. "But, you need to understand why you fail."

"Why I fail..."

"That's right. Now, I would asked you. Why can't you complete the spear that you are going to create?" My mother tried to test my way of thinking regarding to my failure.

"I guess, I don't put enough power to my hand. So, I failed to create that spear."

I thought that my mother would scold me. However, my prediction was incorrect. Instead of being mad at me, she kindly explained why I was failed.

"I can feel the amount of power that you infuse to your spear. It was actually quite strong for a devil at your age. You are just unable to maintain it to be dense, so it explodes when you give it more demonic power."

"Then, what should I do, Mother?"

"You must do these two things. First, you must learn to expand your spear into multiple direction, so you would be able to create a large, even a massive spear."

"Alright, Mother. I understand. Then, what's next?"

"The next step, you must infuse a certain amount of your demonic power into your spear, as well as maintain its density. So, it wouldn't explode or inflict weak damage to your target."

Aaaargh! Those instructions were quite complicated. I felt that my simple mind wouldn't be able to remember such informations. However, I would try as hard as I can to complete my demonic spear. I couldn't make my mother feeling disappointed to me.

"Is there any step left that I should do, Mother?"

"Yes, My Son. It was the last step in which requires you to do the previous steps at once."

"So, you said that I must do all of those steps at once?! It would be very complicated, Mother!"

I could feel that my mother hit my forehead by using her fan. Being spontaneous, I polished my forehead.

"Aww! It's hurt, Mother!"

"That's a punishment if you dare to complain about your training. Remember this! If you want to become a strong man, then you should endure yourself going through a hard way!"

"Yes, Mother. I understand."

"That's my boy. Now, continue training your spear technique! It's not the time to rest yet!"

"Roger that!" I posed myself like a soldier who did the 'understood' pose to the general. After that, I continue doing my training.

I did the training until the day turned into evening. I sat on a bench at the training ground, waiting for my father. But, even after I spent two hours waiting for him, he still didn't come home yet. So, I then decided to go back to my house, assuming that he would be back tomorrow.

After having my dinner, I was brought to Luciferian Library to read literatures. That's what she usually did to me on the evening. She had the strong desire to make me being smart like her descendant, Sima Yi. Therefore, she often demanded me to broaden my knowledge through reading.

"Mom, why did Cao Cao lost to Liu Bei and Sun Quan's forces despite of having troops more than them?" I asked to my mother after I read a book about Battle of Chibi.

"The answer is simple. Cao Cao has the great army, he even had numerous excellent general. However, most of them aren't good at fighting on the water, so he then decided to tie his ships into one union. Unbeknownst to him, his opponents were already prepared to launch a fire attack and shortly, it was success."

Whoaaa...so cool. I knew the battle through playing Dynasty Warriors on my previous life, but I just knew the reason why Cao Cao lost at there. Honestly, I rarely put attention on the dialogues because I was too focus on the game.

"I guess excellency and abundance of knowledge regarding to battle environment is important."

"Indeed, My Son. That's the reason why I always push you to read literatures as many as you can. I want to make you knowing well about this world. Remember, you won't be able to win a battle if you don't know well about your opponent and your surrounding despite having much power, talents, and high intelligent quality."

"Alright, Mother."

I continued reading numerous literature. Two hours later, my mother asked me to stop reading because it was already night.

"It's enough for today, My Son. It's already 10 p.m. now, so you should go to sleep now." My mother said.

I nodded as I agreed with my mother's words. I felt that my eyes became heavy because I was sleepy.

Together with my mother, I went back to our house. She then escorted me to my bedroom, before she went to her own room.

I changed my suit into a set of pajama and lied myself on my mattress. Being affected with drowsiness, I felt asleep in few seconds.
