Chpater 08: Play

Like a flickering light, the little creature zapped between the flowers easily, dodging every attempt Nátt had at apturing it- The fairy giggled in delight as Nátt huffed in annoyance before his fingers moved quickly and a small thorn whip bursted out of the ground and wrapped around the small fairy- Succesfully capturing it! "I win!" Nátt smiled at the red-headed fairy who sighed in defeaet before saying, his voice squeaky and slightly annoyingly familiar with certain chimpmunks... "Fine... You won, i'll get you whatever you want from the Feywild." The little fairy said with a little pout on his chubby face- The little fairy seemed to be a small humanoid man with red hair and green eyes, there were tiny dragonfly-like wings on his back that flapped like the wings of a humming bird, floating in the air calmly.

"Can you get me some Life Dew?" The excitment in Nátt's eyes died out quickly when the fairy looked at him with a large frown on his little face as he looked at him like he was crazy- "I mmean... I would have to-" The little fairy opened his fingers and began making gestures: "↝ then- ↭, ↫ ⇝ ☈ and even some ⇄ before i even get to the place i have to ⥉, ⇲, and a little bit of ↺, and then i would need a twig to ∣, and two twigs to ∥before i even get to the part where i need to ☣ and ☢ with ⚣, after then i would have to ぷ- And then i would find the Life Dew." The fairy was very expressive with his fingers, bending them in weird shapes that only fairies can understand before showing them to Nátt, who only understand his words and not the symbols at all.

"But can you do it?" Nátt hesitantly asked, he could feel his father's piercing gaze behind his back- Yggdrasil has been watching his son play with the fairy he found so the fairy could do something for him, never he thought his son would ask a fairy to go get him a Life Dew! That flower was hard to come by, and maybe if the fairy accepts, he can grow some on his cave! He always wanted one before, right now he'll do whatever he can to help his son, so he did cast a spell- A Level 9 Spell: [Nature's Will], which makes so any creature of the forest obey one order of the overlord of the forest.

And the order he gave? [Obey], a simple and powerful order, that easily took effect on the fairy who dumbly nodded to his beloved son before diving into the flower below him and vanishing from sight. This is the Fairies special ability called [Fey Flight], which enables tiny fey creatures to enter and leave the Feywild at will, without the need of the powerful Level 7 Spell [Plane Shit] or the powerful Lvl 8 Spell named [Planar Road] which enables planar travel easier than a [PLane Shift], since it open a portal to a close plane of existence, without the need to have an item bound to the energy of that place to magically teleport oneself into said plane.

HIs son smiled at the flower, none the wiser that his father just helped himself and him at the same time, he hopes his son would have fun.

-Scene Cut-

Náttúrumaður Grænn stood before the flower, his fingers moving as small little flowers started to pop out of the ground, he was exercising his magical abilities to try another new [Cantrip], just now he casted [Thron Whip] to carpture the fleeing Fairy, and now he has to try new other cantrips since he still wants to know more about them- So, drawing thoughts from his D&D experience, his fingers moved around as he focused on the flowers closest to him and watched as it rotted and died, mushrooms growing on top of the flower.

The cantrip he just learned was the famous [Decompose] Cantrip, used first by Caduceus Clay in the Second Campaing of Critical Role- Or at least that was the first time Nátt saw a character use that cantrip! The cantrip caused organic materila to start decomposing, that's it, that's all it does! It's perfect to make mushrooms and stuff like that, but Nátt knows well enough that mushrooms are useful if you're hungry, and they can also be used for medicine and potions as well, so it's a great harvesting cantrip to have.

It can also help clean the forest from dead animals or dead plants, since it starts new decomposition but also accelerates decompositions that are already gowing, so if he pours more magic energy into the cantrip as he uses it, the cantrip will accelerate the decompsition of the target to a certain degree- Since it was a cantrip.

He would break the magic's structure if he went above and beyond what the spell is capable of holding. And that would waste all the magic energy he put on the spell, sending a blast of magic all around him, which could hurt him. "Hm... two cantrips in one day seems like enough, i guess." Nátt whispered, not knowing it would take a normal human weeks before they even got the same effects he has been having ever since he tried casting magic for the first time. His ifngers traced the flowers as he hummed a little song under his breath. He could take things a little slower... After all, he has many years to come, and unless something bad happens, then he'll be fine.

Oh shit, did he just raise a flag?

Snap that right now!

He will train a lot on magic and potion making, as well as gardening and even herbs and shit! Just snap that fucking flag.

Yggdrasil hummed in thought as his son started suddenly waving a stick in front of him, little did he know that his son was chanting inside his head the words: 'Cut that flag, cut that flag, snap that flag!' Over and over again, as if his chating would snap the flag he just raised.

Oh well, maybe it would, maybe it wouldn't- Who knows?

You don't.
