Spying Mirror

Four men and two women are standing outside the residence where currently party is going on. They all wore black dress and have "X" mark on their foreheads.

Some people who are at the door were just about to leave the party, but upon seeing those six people, they quickly took a few steps to the side and stood there petrified. They are all like they had seen something foreboding.

However, six black-dressed people didn't care for their reaction and moved in the direction of Lord White. These six people are watchers from the Dark city.

Seeing that watchers are coming to meet Lord White; many clans took it as a chance to take their young ones away. Mortals were hurried to leave the residence than celestials. Celestials also maintained some distance with them.

A young girl couldn't help ask "Why is everyone seems too afraid of those black-dressed people?"

An elder simply said, "Watchers stay in the cursed land."

The girl said, "So, they joined the Devils. They are certainly evil."

The elder said, "We don't know whether they have fallen to evil or not. Maybe they still have some sanity and are watching the cursed land. In the past, watchers who lost their sanity started killing mortals and celestials."

"They just look like other Celestials, by divine essence around them I could sense they at least 8th path cultivators. If not for their odd exterior and mark on their face, I wouldn't have noticed them. Why do they stay in cursed land?" said the girl.

"Watchers are the first line of defence against devils that are born in cursed lands. Anyone can join the Alliance, which is unlikely for becoming a watcher. Selection of watchers is very strict. Only celestials whose cultivation is above 6 paths and have very strong conviction can become a watcher. It is all done to save weak-minded cultivators from becoming devils because of the contamination from the abyss." said the Elder.

She then continued to say, "Cursed lands and abyss slowly erodes the rationality of those stay near it. It may take a few months or years or even more time, however, once they fall for that temptation, they are more dangerous than devils that originate from the darkness."

There are many who respect the courage of watchers, on the other hand, some hate them for the vicious past. However, watchers only consider it as a sacred duty to protect the celestials and mortals. They know that once they become a watcher, they will forever be isolated from the rest of the world. However, not many could maintain their sanity upon becoming one and eventually fall under the temptation of the abyss.

All five celestial races have their innate talents. The Three-Eyed race is capable of observing karma and creating illusions, Designers are capable of creation, Giants can transform their bodies and have high destructive strength, Angels possess psychic powers and Centaurs can petrify all living beings.

All celestial races are capable of purifying cursed lands; however, ancient cursed lands are very powerful so, even powerful cultivators who are at the peak of the world only remained helpless to purify the cursed land. All they could do is suppress its power by various methods left behind by their ancestors.

Watchers main troops are selected from centaurs because their power is most suitable for killing devils without any further complications. The Three-Eyed race is preferred next as they can monitor if anything comes out from the abyss.

Gina Morris cupped her hands and said "Senior White, we heard many praises about the little boy. I also wanted to see with my own eyes. Even though Holy City didn't allow us to leave the Dark City, we hope senior will be magnanimous and allow us to see the little boy who created a miracle upon his birth."

She then glanced at Lukas as if waiting for him to say something.

Lukas seeing her glance said "You know it was not my decision. It was Hyden who doesn't trust watchers. I only wanted someone to monitor watchers when they leave cursed land."

His answer was within her expectation. However, she acted like she was displeased with his lack of trust and sarcastically said, "Since you don't trust us that much, maybe you should become a watcher."

Lukas didn't know whether to laugh or cry as he sensed that she is was deliberately making things difficult for him.

Lord White who has seen many people could guess that she wants something, so he said "If you want something just ask it. As long as it is reasonable, I can help you."

Gina mood became spirited as her plan had worked. Lukas was only a bait all along, she wanted the help from Sublime School of Craft.

She said "Senior I want you to design powerful mirror for me so that I can see everything while staying in the cursed land. Though I have one, it only works within a thousand miles and it can only spy on one person."

Though Gina has half bloodline of three-eyed race, unlike them she can't see beyond the normal range of her eye-sight. She can see the fate of myriad things, but she can't see them physically if they are far away. A few years ago, Queen Svelto came to her and asked for her assistance in designing a spying artefact. Queen wanted to use it on her husband. Since Gina has half bloodline of designers, she was able to learn some basic things about celestial designs. She and Svelto designed a mirror according to their plan.

However, spying mirror's function didn't meet Gina's demands. She wanted a mirror to see everything happening around the world not just something that could be used on one person. While she is in cursed land, all she has to do is observe if something is being born in the land, if she has a mirror which can help her observe the world, she can easily overcome her boredom there.

Lord White said, "I am now old, I might not be able to help you. I will ask the elders in the school to help you. First, show me that mirror. I have never designed anything like that before. Though you only have a half bloodline of designers, at least you are doing better than those who are walking the path of mortals."
