Chapter 26

" Hello Elden. I'm glad you accepted my invitation. " Captain Rose said.

" Pleasure to be here. " Elden said.

Elden sat inside the headquarters of captain Rose squad base. He looked at the captain herself who held a blank face as she stared back.

" Your letter asking me to come here was a surprise but before that can we have Fox come out from her hiding spot. " Elden asked.

Rose said nothing as she just smiled. Suddenly a figure stood next to her, wearing a fox mask.

" You always know when I'm around. How? " Asked Fox.

" That's a secret for me to know and you to find out. " Elden said with a playful tone.

" Well I'd like to start now. " Rose said.

" Of course. After all that's why I'm here? " Elden said.

" Before tell I need to know Elden, what is your thoughts on the kingdom? " Rose asked.

Elden playful expression was replace with a serious one.

" Hmm I don't mind telling, but I need to know,

Are you doing this on the kings orders or out of your own choosing? "

" My own choosing. " Rose said without skipping a beat.

" I see. Will Fox say anything about this to the king? "

" No. She is part of this. " Rose said.

" Alright then. To put it in simple terms, the kingdom is shit. " Elden said.

Silence permeated the air as Rose and Elden stared at each other.

" I see. That's good. My thoughts wee the exact same. " Rose said with a smile.

" Well that's good. But that leads to the bigger topic, why did you call me here? " Elden asked.

' She didn't lie at all. Ki is very helpful in this situation.I was able to read her easily. Her magic was controlled and didn't give anything away. ' Elden thought.

" Simple. You have the same thoughts as me and I wanted to talk to you. "

" I see. But how were you so sure? "

" When you came back from your mission givin to you by the king. "

" Sigh of course it was then. " Elden said as he slumped into the chair.

* Flashback. *

" You failed!! " yelled one of the royals.

" Yes I said that like 3 seconds ago. Joker I did say that 3 seconds ago right? "

" Yes you did. " Joker said with an amused face.

" Thank you Joker. "

" Because of this our plans have been post lined so to your failure. " The same royal said.

" What do you have to say for yourself?!! " He yelled as he pointed at Elden.

" Shut the fuck up and go bitch to someone else. " Elden said with an cold emotionless gaze.

When he said those words silence permeated the air as everyone looked at him. His cold purple eyes looked at the royal who flinched and shrunk at the gaze. The same applies to other royals who tried to avoid his gaze.

The captains all had different reactions. Leonardo had a shocked expression that Elden could speak in such a way toward the royals.

Lisanna had a small smile on her face while her eyes showed satisfaction.

Rose had an amused expression on her face while her body was shaking before holding her hand to her mouth.

Joker didn't give a shit as he just laughed out loud, clearly enjoying what just occurred.

Lance on the other hand was still stoic. His expression didn't change, not even for a moment except for when his left hands grip tightened onto his right arm.

Drake on the other hand, just stared at Elden with a blank look.

The king just let this play out as he looked at Elden. His eyes showed confusion.

" Why you.. " The same royal started but stopped when he the king raised his hand.

" Tell me Elden, do you not know the consequences of your failure? "

" Hmm can I ask you something your majesty?"

" Ah you inso.. "

" You may. " The king said.

" Tell if I had faced Yami Sukehira at full capacity with my magic, what would that accomplish? " Elden asked.

" If that was the case I believe that the mission would be complete. "

" You are wrong. " Elden said.

For the second time since the meeting began silence rained over the place.

This time however everyone had the same feeling that was shown on their faces.

Shock.

Elden just spoke to the king, telling he was wrong. On his face they could see that Elden wants afraid. He was non chalont.

" I'm sorry, I misheard. What did you say? " The king asked.

His stoic mask was broken. Anger could be seen on his face.

" Like I said you were wrong. "

The king grounded his teeth in anger as his magic power was released into the room.

It was a small amount as he had same level of control. No one reacted outward to the magic as it was small.

Calming down the king looked at Eldnen.

" Explain. "

" Sigh. Tell me what happenes when 2 captain level mage fight seriously. The destruction of the near bye area.

If me and Yami were fighting at full capacity whether I won or lost Rosemary village would have been destroyed.

My mission was to get Rosemary village under the Diamond Kingdoms control so I did the next best thing that gave me a greater chance.

A sword fight against Yami without the use magic. If I had won Rosemary village would be under the Diamond Kingdom.

This route gave me more of a chance to complete my mission which is why I chose it."

" I see. But why couldn't you win your sword fight? "

" He was stronger than me. " Elden said as it was the most obvious thing in the world.

" I see. " The king said as he went back to his stoic expression.

" Well I think this discussion is over. You can all leave now. "

" But your highness... "

" The captains can leave. I need you to stay here for a moment. " The king said.

* Flashback end *

" Sigh good times. " Elden said.

" Anyway what's your plan? " Elden asked.

" I want to change the kingdom. The kingdom has gone to shit. Lisanna and Fox agrees. "

" I see. What have you done to change the kingdom? "

" Mostly tried to change the living conditions of most of the citizens. I chose my members who have the same thought as me. "

" I see. But you do realize that there is an easier way right. " Elden said.

" And what would that be? : Rose asked intrigued.

" A coup. " Elden said.

Rose eyes widened as she stared at Elden. In her mind her first thought after the shock disappeared was that it was a stupid idea but she stopped from saying it out loud.

She stared at Eldens, who had the same expression when he made the statement. A smile on his face as his purple eyes showed confidence.

" But you know that would be impossible right."

" Why would that be impossible? I never said we would it do now or in the year. We don't have enough people to help.

I have a plan but right now I need to ask,

Will you join me in this crusade? "

Rose just looked at Elden with a shocked expression. She looked over at Fox. Her mask covered her face but she could tell she was conflicted as her hand was shaking.

" After the coup what will happen? "

" Well it will depend on the people but I'll just become King and take over. "

" You'll actually help. But you seem like the lazy type. "

" Your not wrong except I have some ideas that I want to implement to kingdom. If I becomes king I have the ability to do so. Besides if I wanted I could just give the position to another person. "

" I see. You really are a crazy bastard. "

" Hmm so you finally noticed. " Elden said with a smile.

" Welcome aboard. " Elden said.

" Thanks. Also Fox and Lisanna will be joining."

" Thought as much. " Elden said. He then turned around and started walking toward the door.

" Elden. " Rose called out. Elden stopped and looked at her.

" If you and Yami used magic. Who would've won? " Rose asked. Elden just looked at her.

" The winner would've been me. "
