Chapter 25

Elden walked through the streets of Rosemary village. He looked at the village and memorised the entire place.

' Well at least I have some time before I fight against him. ' Elden thought as a grin appeared on his face.

' Dammit I need to control my battle maniac. '

Taking deep breaths, calming down, Elden headed over to a restaurant and headed inside to get some food.

* boom *

' The fuck?! '

Just as Elden was about to eat, an explosion occurred outside.

Getting up he walked outside and headed towards the source.

" Alright you little shits! Hand over all your money or else these 2 are going to get it. "

In front of him a group of people had 2 people hostage.

" Sigh another cliche setting. " Elden and a guy with a gruff voice said next yo him.

Surprised they turned and looked at the other person.

' Well shit I didn't expect to meet him like this.' Elden thought as he looked at Yami. He stared at Yami and Yami stared back with their deadpan expressions.

It went on for awhile till Elden blinked.

" Ha I won. You owe me a drink. " Yami laughed.

" Ha since when. " Elden asked.

" Since now. " Yami said.

" Bullshit. " Elden said with a deadpan expression.

" Hahah... " The 2 laughed.

" So you want to deal with this or should I? " Elden asked.

" Don't know. I just want to finish so I can go home. "

" Same. What will you do when you get home?"

" Take a dump. "

" I see. I'll probably just annoy my students. "

" You have to deal with annoying kids. "

" Yep but they do make the day more interesting. After all you can annoy them and they can't do shit to you because of your position. "

" Ha that's true. But seriously what are we going to do about this? "

" I'll give you to the count of 3. " The man said.

" Hmm how about we have a bet. " Elden asked.

" I'm listening. "

" 2. "

" We will have a competition to see who can beat the most of these people because we both know they probably have accomplices. Loser has to pay for the other persons dinner."

" 1. "

" Deal. "

" Time to di.... "

In the blink of an eye of the robbers were on the ground conscience as the villagers looked at the scene in confusion.

" Seems it's 6 to 5 in my favor. " Elden said as he had shit eating grin on his face as he looked at Yami.

Yami clenched hard on his ciguritte as a tick appeared on his forehead.

" True. But you haven't won yet. "

" I know but it was fun to see your reaction. " Elden said with an innocent tone.

' This little shit! ' Yami thought as more tick marks formed.

" Ummm Excuse me. " Said one of the villagers.

" Sup old man. " Elden and Yami responded.

" Are you to mages? "

" Pretty much. " They responded.

" Okay well if it's not to much trouble... "

" You want us to take out the other bandits who rob you right. " Elden asked.

" Yes but how did you know? "

" Its a cliche. Seen and been through this shit a lot. " Yami said.

" Same. Also you don't have to pay us with money. " Elden said.

" Wait Why? "

" That's because your village will part of the Diamond Kingdom. "

" That's because your village will be part of the Clover Kingdom. "

Elden looked at Yami and Yami stared back.

" So how should we do this? " Yami asked.

" Hmm after we deal with the bandits we can have a sword fight. No magic of course as we dont want this village to get blown off the map so our bosses won't annoy the fuck out of us. "

" Seems ligit. So we going to start now. "

" Yep. "

Both of them then disappeared as that was left wa s a cloud of dust that blinded everyone.

" What the fuck just happened? " The old man asked.

A few was away from the village with the village chief who was the old man, Yami and Elden stood in front of one another as they got ready to fight.

" So we still agree that you will pay for my meal since you lost. " Elden said.

" Yep. But when I win this you will pay for my booze. " Yami replied.

" That's fine but only if you win. "

Yami got into his stance as he held his sword in front of him with his right hand. Elden stood opposite to him with his sword next to him in his right hand.

" Well anyway let's begin. " The chief said clearly tired of the bullshit. His face even gained a few more wrinkles in the time span.

He threw a rock into the air. Time slowed down as the 2 eyes each other, as their bodies tensed.

* plonk *

As soon a the stone hit the ground, Yami and Elden rushed towards each other, swinging their swords in front of them.

Their swords clashed, sparks were born impact, as the ground beneath them broke into a spider web from the force exerted from the clash.

They stared at each other as they struggled to overpower the other. They operated as they jumped back.

Once their feet hit the ground, they rushed at each other again.

Their swords clashed repeatedly against each other. Yami trusted his sword at Eldnens face who tilted his head to the left to dodge.

Elden then bended his back as Yami sword went right above his nose. He then countered with an upward slash at Yami.

Yami noticed and jumped back to avoid the slash.

When the 2 looked at each other to catch a breather, the was a cut on Elden cheek and a cut on Yamis right shoulder.

'He's strong. ' Both thought.

' I don't know if he started using Ki or not, but this is a good time to test some of my theories. ' Elden thought.

Rushing at Yami, Elden aims for Yamis gut. Yami notices as he swings is sword.

* swish *

His blade hits nothing as Elden dodged the strike before landing a slash to his left shoulder.

The cut from Eldens sword causes blood to flow out of the wound as Yamis eyes widened for a moment as does Eldens who looked at the wound with pride.

However Yami recovers faster than Eldnen as He thrusts his sword at Eldens face. Elden notices it and barely avoided the blow, but a large cit appeared on his left cheek.

Getting back his bearings Elden paries multiple slashes from Yami but started to lose his balance from the intensity of his strikes.

Quickly noticing this Elden dodges more strikes before jumped back using a backflip get distance away from Yami.

They stooped to stare at eachother while taking a look at their wounds.

' Damn kid. He's good. He directed his intent at the that point on my body before switching to my left shoulder.

He was a lot faster than normal. Got past my Ki. I'll have take him seriously. ' Yami thought.

' Damn his strikes are hard. Either way i now know that I can use intent to director attention.

For now though I'll need to try to read him. Luckily we can't use magic anyway. However I need to go at 100% if I want to survive. '

They looked at each other, before they disappeared from view.

1 second later sparks erupted in the air as the sound of to metals clashing was heard.

Elden and Yami had more exchanges as they both went on the offensive.

Yami attacked with more ferocity aiming for Eldens vital areas. Elden responded in kind as he attacked as well.

Cuts appeared on their bodies as blood came out of them. However Yami had less cuts on his body than Elden.

Elden breathing was a bit heavy as was Yamis but both seemed fine as they looked at each other.

Taking a deep breath, Elden rushed at Yami as Yami meet him in the middle. Their swords clashed as Elden jumped over Yami and did multiple slashes.

Yami dodged down of them and blocked one as he jumped back. Once he landed he rushed at Elden who just landed on the ground.

He manages to see Yami rushing at him as the world slowed down to him.

' A slash, aimed at my neck. '

Elden used the momentum when he landed on his feet to bend his back as Yami sword goes right over his nose.

Yami eyes widened as Elden uses the opportunity to get jump back and get into his stance.

' The brat managed to Ki!! '

Yami started smiling as he looked at Eldnen. Elden had a smile as well as he looked at Yami.

No words were spoken as they clashed again. Elden could see Yami strikes as he dodged and parried before counter attacking as Yami did the same.

When Elden jumped back Yami immediatly rushed him with a flurry of thrusts aimed at his face.

Elden eyes widened as he hastily dodge d the strikes and blocked some with his sword. Yami noticed and attacked with a strike that knocked Eldens sword out of his hands.

Elden was stunned for a second. Yami used that and grabbed Elden by his shirt and threw him in the opposite direction.

Elden hit the ground and lands on his back as Yami rushed in and stepped on his wrists. Pinned down Yami aimed his sword at Eldens neck.

Silence looked over the place for a few seconds as Yami looked at Elden.

" I win, which means you owe me some booze." Yami said with a shit eating grin.

" I know but you owe me dinner. " Elden said as he got up.

" Anyway did you know what you did during that fight? " Yami asked.

" All I know is that I could predict your attacks. I didn't use magic though. "

" What you used is Ki. It's a technique from where I'm from. "

" I see. "

" Not yo interupt but since he won what this mean for the village? "

Elden and Yami looked at the old man who was pointing at Yami.

" Oh that means you are part of the clover kingdom now. " Yami said.

" Okay then. " The old man said.

" Well enough of that. Let's go celebrate, you have to pay foe my booze. " Yami said with grin.

" Yep I know. " Elden said.
