(I will be using this synopsis for the mean time, till I think of something more captivating, but I assure that this is a promising novel so give it a try). *** "Hunt or be hunted," is the only way for humans to survive in this world. Christopher's first portal adventure turned into a nightmare as he was tortured by monsters. He miraculously wound up in a hospital. [Ding...You have gained a system.] Christopher used the system to strengthen himself, only to discover that the world is gearing up for something far more massive. Christopher, with the rest of the team, entered the portal.

Something strange happened, more like a glitch: the portal color changed from blue to red.

The two soldiers that were left in charge of protecting the portal outside noticed this but thought it was a normal situation, although there hasn't been any record of the portal changing color by the scientists.

Inside the portal, the team arrived in a cave that seemed to have no end at all.

"Stick together everyone; we don't know what to expect," the leader of the team said.

Slowly, everyone kept moving further into the cave.

After a few minutes of walking, they came across little green creatures.

"Hey, aren't those things called goblins?" a man amidst them said.

(Bang!) "Fire!" The leader immediately shot one of the goblins, and he then commanded without wasting time.

The soldiers holding their machine guns press hard on the trigger, opening heavy fire at their enemies and continuously releasing bullets toward the goblins, who stood no chance against such heavy machines, not only killing them but also destroying everything the barrage of bullets hits. The goblins had no time to react at all.

Everyone who managed to kill a goblin felt a stream of energy flowing in their body, making them a little bit stronger.

The source of energy depends on how many monsters they killed; the more monsters they killed, the more energy flowed toward them.

Christopher didn't feel this warm feeling of pure energy because he wasn't able to kill a single goblin.

"Keep moving!" The leader commanded.

"Bunch of trash, I will make you all regret killing my wife," a man said angrily as he kicked the dead goblin hard like a football.

The foot of the man punched a hole in the dead goblin's chest.

They moved further and further into the dungeon, and on their way, they killed lots of goblins. The leader would ask the soldiers not to kill some, only putting them in a state of being half dead, so that the civilians could finish them off and get stronger, not to be dead weight later on.

After killing all the goblins each time, they will feel that sense of pure energy flowing in their body.

The goblins would be considered the weakest creatures in the dungeon, but the further they dived into it, the more goblins they met, so it was getting stressful.

They kept moving, moving further without any stops. If not for the fact that the unknown energy increased their strength and stamina, they would have collapsed hours ago due to exhaustion.

This time they met red goblins that are taller instead of the normal short green goblins.

The commander didn't care what type of creature it was; all he knew was that they must complete the task at hand.

(Roarrggh!) The red goblins with giant wooden bat clubs charged toward the humans.

The soldiers and civilians, without being told, began to attack the red goblins.

The red goblins were surprisingly tough and resilient; few bullets could hurt them at all.

The situation was quite disadvantageous for the humans, who were solely relying on the heavy gun machinery; although the guns were still able to kill them, the red goblins kept coming endlessly.

(Arrrgh!) A scream could be heard amidst the team; a red goblin had bitten off a large chunk of meat from a woman's neck, who showed fear when fighting the red goblin.

The leader was so angry at the sight that he dropped his gun, brought out his battle knife, and ran toward the damn creature.

"Damn you!"

( Kekeke!) The goblin dropped the woman and also charged toward the leader

As a soldier, he is a trained expert in fighting, and now that his body has grown stronger, it was easy for him to easily finish off the goblin.

Christopher, on the other hand, was having a hard time dealing with the goblins; he was seriously injured, but he was still able to fend off some of the goblins because of his improved physique and his improved skill in knife usage.

"Damn it, the numbers just keep increasing no matter how many we kill," Christopher thought as he slashed a goblin's neck off.

"Sir, we need to retreat," Christopher told the team leader. He couldn't take it anymore; if they keep this up, then they might perish here, even if the mysterious energy keeps renewing their strength.

The team leader, who was fighting with a bunch of goblins, agreed because they were losing this war and even if they survived, the morale of the people would be dampened due to the loss they suffered.

Before the leader could issue a warning that they should retreat, a man suddenly dropped his knife and ran away. "I don't want to die here; I want to live!" he shouted as he escaped.

"Smack this stupid man," both Christopher and the team leader said at the same time because they knew the effect of what the man just did.

The action displayed by the coward destroyed the morale of the civilians that are fighting the goblins.

Everyone also began to panic, running away. They want to escape this living nightmare; no money is as important as human life.

The team formation immediately collapsed, and some of the red goblins chased after the runaway humans.

Christopher knew that if they stayed here longer, they would surely die, so he too took off on his heels and tried to find a way to escape; even though he was injured, the adrenaline rushing through him right now didn't allow him to feel the pain.

"Let's go, men; it's no use staying here any longer," the leader said, telling his fellow soldiers, who were still alive, as they fired bullets at the goblins.

Everyone escaped in different directions.

(Kekeke!!!) Sounds of the terrible goblins' laughter could be heard across the entire dungeon.

The ground began to rumble, and it felt like a battalion of armies was rushing toward them.

This made the fear in everyone's heart increase; those who managed to get to the supposed entrance were left shocked because they couldn't find the exit to the portal anymore. They knew that this was the end for them.

Christopher, on the other hand, wasn't with the masses; he only kept on running and running; every time he ran, he felt that the terrain of the dungeon kept changing, and he couldn't get back to the entrance.

His only means of survival was his knife, which has worn off and broken, so there are no other means for self-defense.

He kept running as fast as he could, but out of nowhere, a flying stone hit his head.

He fell to the ground; his head was bleeding seriously, but he still tried to crawl.

He felt his consciousness and energy fading away. Right before he passed out, he heard the laughter of those damn goblins. The last thing he saw were lots of feet standing in front of him.

Christopher woke up a few moments later, finding himself in a pitch-black room.

His head was throbbing and a warm, sticky liquid was flowing from the back of his head.

He tried moving his arms but they were chained to the ground.

The boy heard quiet, soft growls coming from the other side of the room. Fear quickly took over him but then, he realized where he was and what was happening to him.

"You're finally awake, boy." A deep, scratchy voice spoke from the Darkness.

Christopher's heart began beating fast as he worried that whatever owned that voice was going to kill him. From the darkness came one of the goblins he and the other humans fought earlier.

Let me go, he cried as he tugged on the chains. A goblin angrily punched him in his gut, making the boy cough out blood.

"I'm going to make you suffer, human." The voice came closer and Christopher could finally see the owner of the voice, surprisingly it was a fat huge red goblin sitting on a throne made of human bones with lots of both red and green goblins carrying the throne.

More goblins came in and each one of them had a chunk of meat that resembled human flesh in their mouth. The sight of this was terrible. A goblin came closer and chewed a human eye, the blood splatting on Christopher's face.

Christopher didn't bother crying, shouting, or struggling. He instead accepted his fate, bit his tongue, and waited for the pain to begin with his head hung over.

"I see you've already accepted your fate, boy. It's not going to be that easy for me, no. I'm going to watch as your body crumbles and watch your blood beg for my mercy." The chief goblin stood up from his throne and went closer to where Christopher was chained.

CHRISTOPHER looked at the Chief goblin, spat in its face, and said, "Fuck your mercy."

The chief goblin clawed his face, leaving large scars. Christopher wanted to scream for help, but deep down, he knew that no human would come to help him since they are all dead.

The Chief goblin just smiled creepily at Christopher and snapped his finger, immediately one by one, the goblins began to hit Christopher with all their weapons. Some were sharp, others heavy and others were light but used for way more things.

Christopher was punched, stabbed, whipped, and his body parts severed off, and yet, while all this happened, he didn't let out as much as a peep, but he was screaming internally and regretting the fact that he came to explore the portal with other humans just because of money.

Christopher'sody couldn't hold on anymore from the pain and toture, so he passed out
