I got up early in the morning and realised that I needed a better perspective of the death note. I had established a foundation for myself mentally, but I just couldn't get myself to write another name. It was then, I decided to prepare; prepare to hand over the death note.
I wanted to give the death note to someone else, to leave track of this horrid book. And to face no repercussions, I asked,
"So, Ryuk, are there any aftereffects of giving the notebook to someone else?"
Ryuk: "Once you pass on the death note to someone else, you'll lose all your memory about the death note."
Kira: "Is that all?"
Ryuk: "Pretty much."
I grinned. How much more advantageous could the death note be?
I opened a random notebook and listed all the incidents as well as the result of the experiments I had conducted. Other than this, I wrote all about the rules, the details and all that was important. I put this notebook in the upper drawer of my study table along with the torn out page of the death note.
If I would lose all memory of the death note, it would allow me to enjoy writing more names. Instead of facing the boredom I do now, I would enjoy writing at least a couple more names in the future. With this thought in mind, I decided to seek a psychopath to carry my legacy forward. And on a side note, I wouldn't have to deal with Ryuk.
He's going to assess a few people in the next chapter. After which, his successor will be certain.
