College

It was nearly eight o'clock. I had written over 50 names, and now I wanted to quit. I could die any moment due to some unspecified rule, however, I just didn't care anymore. What was important to me now, was beating everyone's asses back in college.

Tomorrow, a mathematics examination would be held. For me, this was a piece of cake already. I had 12 hours and I'd have to revise through it all. Honestly, even though I had read all of this before, that was a few years down the line. My college only provided 2 books. However, this wasn't enough.

I spent all of my time, indulging into mathematical problems, a few unsolvable paradoxes and then finally, I made my way to the millennium problems. The one that intrigued me the most, the mass gap. Yang-Mills states the existence of a mass gap, however, no one was able to prove this.

For three hours, I swept across every book, and every ounce of my knowledge, and finally found it. A 40 page thesis on why the mass gap was real; that was the result of tirelessly working. That day, I didn't sleep.

After the 12 hours had passed, I was ready. I made my way to school with my dreary eyes. The teacher handed out the question paper, which I solved in an hour. The time given was 3 hours, however, the teacher wasn't surprised to see my feat. He thought that I had failed this time. After writing the test, I exited the classroom. The teacher asked, "Where do you think you're going?"

I smiled as I said, "I'm going to prove that everyone in this world is dumber than they think."

I submitted my work to a famous professor in town. As soon as he saw the title of the thesis, he rushed to contact every professor in town. After a couple of hours, professors all across the globe rushed to Japan to see the solved problem.

While I was relaxing at home, at nearly 3 o'clock, a horde of professors stood in front of my gate. My mother opened the door.

"If it's another one of those pans you're here to sell, then I'm not buying."

Just before my mother was about to close the door, one of the professors standing there, spoke,

"No! We are simply here to meet your son."

My mother opened the door by a bit. "Is this about his grades?"

"No this is in fact-"

My mom responded, "Then get out of here!" While closing the door.

I climbed down the stairs to observe what had happened. When I opened the door, I saw 12 professors sweating due to the hot sun.

I spoke, "And who may you be?"

One of the professors spoke again. "We're professors from across the globe. If you require to join any of our universities, we can make amends."

I replied, "Come inside first."

I introduced mom to these professors and explained the situation. Mom was shocked at first, and... that's about it. She was shocked during the entire duration.

I handed the professors some water and began speaking. "At the moment, I have no intention to join any university. Leave your contacts here and I'll think about it. Secondly, if you wish to give me a reward, bring that reward here. I'm not going anywhere just to collect a little bit of cash and a worthless coin. Goodbye."

I got up and started moving away.

A professor from the crowd spoke, "A worthless coin? That's the noble prize you're talk-"

Before the professor could continue, I interrupted him to end the discussion. I glared at him while saying,

"I said, GOODBYE."

The professor stopped speaking. I walked up to my room, and locked the door. The professors slowly exited the living room.

Kira: "How do you think I did Ryuk?"

Ryuk: "Not bad. But why was this necessary?"

Kira: "It wasn't. I felt like it and so I did it. Imparting knowledge to worthless humans does bring me some happiness. And to some extent, it livens my superiority."

My boredom reduced. I rested on my bed, waiting for a new day to arrive.
