Author's Announcement

While I recognize the confusion and questions, all of them will inevitably be answered as the story progressed. So, feel free to speculate and theorize, there is no harm in doing so.

Also, if I reply and it doesn't quite answer the question - I am either dodging it to avoid spoilers, or whatever I answer will lead to a leak (spoilers).

I am not Tom Holland!

Anyways, enjoy the last chapter of the Remake of Volume 1!

As the soldiers made preparation and inspected their gears – the whirlwind storm has yet to pass – as the korpsmen made their dissatisfaction known. However, despite the terrible wrath the Watchmaster wanted to afflict, she interrupted her boiling anger by entertaining the loading of bullets into clips.

"I don't know if you can sense it, but I have a gut feeling that they aren't too happy with any of us at the moment." Lieutenant Sandra voiced her concerns as she donned her vest.

Listening to the woman's worries, Nick took a peek at their 'associates' and shared an agreement. "Well, I can't blame them. I know how it feels to not be told of the whole picture." He began before he caught a glance that might signal that the lieutenant wanted to hear more, therefore he continued.

"Surely as you were aware that I was formerly a Delta Operative, that I handled counterterrorism. Well, anyways there was a mission and it was considered high-risk security to an embassy somewhere overseas."

Nick released a sigh as his shoulders dropped.

"But somehow the intel provided was nothing but useless. The building we raided was just filled with innocent civilians. Until explosions were set off and we were ambushed. The fight caused casualties on both sides and the innocent tenants. Heh, turns out the intel was outdated and the building has long since been turned into an outpost as they have switched their main headquarters."

He was silent as he ended before he spoke again as if he had a lot he wanted to say.

"However, I just know those C.I.A and the F.B.I have it out for each other for their own political and self-interest agendas – that they would hold on to valuable intel. Their petty war against each other affecting others."

Nick scoffed as he appears sour even talking about the topic. "But that's all in the past now, we should hurry."

Flashback…

As Supergirl arrived on the scene where Lena have reportedly filed a stolen artifact. It has seemed the investigation and protocols were all dealt with when there was the absent presence of cops, but with traces, there were – concluding the scene had been swept.

However, to Kara's surprise and confusion, she locks on the back of a woman. "Lena?" her voice called out to the mysterious person that idly stood to look at the broken case of glass.

"Lena" Kara mentioned again, but louder as it does the trick in gaining the person's attention. "Kara?"

The woman's reaction was slow and tired, and as Kara further observed she could assume that it felt like something vastly important have been ripped from her. "Yeah it's me, but what about you – are you okay?"

"In all honesty, n-no no I'm not." Lena turned again to look at the broken case as she wrapped her hands around her arms. "Tell me, what's wrong Lena?"

The woman in question began to appear hesitant and nervous, before she finally spoke, while still maintaining a fixed looked at the case.

"The artifact, I feel like it's done something to me, Kara. But I don't know what and I am terrified. It's just suddenly I have an obsessive urge to keep it around me, near me – worst of all I sometimes catch myself feeling so vulnerable when I've spent too much time away from it."

At the revelation of the young Luthor, she jumped to Kara for comfort – burying her face into the woman's chest as she felt tears weep.

"Hey it's okay, it's okay, you're fine. I got you, Lena."

Forward to the present…

Alone in her luxurious apartment, there she lay on the couch exhausted and unrested. "Kara… I need you…"

Unaware that Indigo had the Superhero occupied in the middle of the city with their affair.

"Glad I could catch you on a good time. Going somewhere?" Indigo kept Supergirl in place as she met with her in the sky. "Funny enough, yes. But unfortunately, it wasn't to see you, Indigo."

At the harsh comment, Indigo let out a mocking laugh before she spoke once more. "Well, that is unfortunate since I did bring along 'companions' on the way to visit you. So I guess you'll have to entertain us, Supergirl."

In a synchronized march of mechanized feet that trembled the ground – though it was far – Supergirl's sensitive hearing took great notice of the sound. 'Damn it! Sorry Lena, but I'll need to inform th-"

Just as she was formulating her next course of action, chainsaw-installed arms attempted to cut through her neck as the android dashes through the skies. In an alarming state, Kara distanced herself from Indigo's supposed modified lieutenants with their specially enhanced equipment.

"Ah-ah-ah" Indigo in an amusing tone teased. "These 3 I made – I made just for you, so it would be a waste if you don't play with them." The villain pouted as she spoke before a wicked grin took over. "Hope you can last longer than last time, oh and without your friends to save you this time around, Supergirl."

'Damn it! Hold on Lena, I'll be there!'

"Move out!"

As the backdoor to the armored vehicle busted open, its occupants exited. The soldiers made a perimeter around the transport – keeping their eyes on their surroundings before in an orderly fashion began to move to their objective targets.

Silent in their approach yet swift in their movement, the soldiers were discrete in being discovered as they landed their backs against the target building. "Lieutenant Nick, Sandra – I need you to secure the outer perimeter – we will be needing a clear route on the way out when the objectives have been all accomplished. Understood?"

"Roger that, Director."

"Good" and at a moment's notice, the unit began their infiltration of Indigo's large-scale operation.
