Chapter 212: Haunting H'el In The Past

Krypton.

The sky was ominously dark.

The biting cold wind, like knives, cut through the air relentlessly.

Everything seemed frozen, with winds exceeding a Category 12 hurricane, fiercely whipping back and forth, occasionally carrying ice particles with its howling.

The environment here was exceptionally harsh, devoid of any signs of life, with the ground frozen solid.

Biting cold, raging storms, desolation... the sky seemed poised to crush everything below.

With a 'bang', a powerful burst of compressed air sounded, and arcs of electricity flashed in the chilling wind as Flash, Batman, Green Lantern, and Black Adam appeared here, traveling through time and space.

Flash, surrounded by arcs of electricity, braked suddenly, sucking in air as the sudden gravity made him lose balance. He quickly adjusted the vibration frequency of his body within the speed force mode to counteract the gravitational effects, then looked around at the surrounding environment.

"We've arrived," Flash said, electricity crackling around him as he squinted at the desolate, uninhabited mountains.

"What a harsh environment. It seems the planetary conditions of Krypton are ten times worse than Earth," Luthor said as he adjusted his green and white armor, adapting to the gravity. Batman had already informed him that the gravity on Krypton was ten times heavier than Earth's, so he was prepared.

"Krypton is a tidally locked planet," Batman explained, looking up at the dark sky, trying to find the position of the sun, but there was only endless black clouds and raging winds.

The sun locked Krypton, preventing it from rotating.

This meant that one side of Krypton always faced the sun, while the other side always faced away.

This caused the side facing the sun to become increasingly hot, while the opposite side became increasingly cold, to the extent that it would be covered in ice and ravaged by bitter winds, similar to the surface of a rogue planet.

Now they were in the freezing mountains, obviously located on the planet's dark side.

Neither the side facing the sun nor the side facing away from it was suitable for life. Only at the intersection of the light and dark sides of Krypton, where there should be a huge river or ocean, could life thrive.

Everyone present understood this basic knowledge. Black Adam flew up into the clouds to find the direction of the sun, while Batman and Luthor calculated the intersection of the light and dark sides. Flash, surrounded by the speed force, directly led them towards the location of the city.

They were very fortunate that the first city they encountered was Kandor.

Kandor was enveloped in a massive atmospheric energy shield, which simulated the atmosphere to regulate temperature, humidity, and air quality, protecting the city from the harsh external environment.

Using his vibrational powers, Flash brought them into Kandor.

Unfortunately, Batman and Luthor activated the stealth systems of their respective armors as they walked down the streets, but due to technological differences, they were immediately detected by Kandor's perimeter surveillance.

(A/N: Bros thought they could just sneak their way to a highly developed technological planet, lol)

In an instant, Kandor's perimeter defense system went on alert, issuing a warning:

"Warning, warning, unauthorized individuals detected in Kandor City. You have violated Krypton's defense regulations. Please immediately kneel down and wait for law enforcement to take action."

"We've been discovered. Flash, take us to the slums. Only in the chaotic slums can we hide," Batman said.

Having once learned Kryptonian language from Superman, Batman understood the warning.

The intelligent system likely recognized their sudden appearance and assumed they were attempting to forcibly penetrate Kandor City's atmospheric energy shield, hence the warning.

In such a high-tech world as Krypton, their technology, Batman and Luthor's, seemed so weak and feeble, their concealment systems easily breached.

As Batman finished speaking, Flash disappeared before their eyes, only to reappear in front of them in the next moment, as if he had never left, having found the slums of Kandor City, a chaotic area, and brought them to the dirtiest, most disorderly part.

Sewage flowed, the stench of feces was thick, and piles of garbage littered the area, emitting a nauseating smell throughout the alley.

"It seems the Kryptonians is no different from Earthlings'," Luthor remarked, glancing at the alley's environment.

Despite being a highly technological civilization capable of interstellar travel, Krypton still harbored the base tendencies of a biological underclass, which greatly disappointed him.

Black Adam pinched his nose, his face turning sour.

The difference from when they first entered Kandor City was too great. Outside, it was clean and bright, with orderly streets and elegant, beautiful buildings characteristic of Krypton, with airships constantly circulating, presenting the appearance of an ultra-high-tech civilization.

And here, indeed, was no different from the slums on Earth.

"Which time period are we in? His childhood, adolescence, or youth?" Luthor turned away from the surroundings, activated the armor's shielding to block out smells, and asked Flash.

"I don't know. I was reminded by my speed force, tracing back to the time point where H'el shouldn't exist, and ended up here. The speed force doesn't make mistakes, and the Emperor of Krypton is at this time point. I'm not sure how old he is," Flash shook his head. He was also unsure of H'el's current age on Krypton.

But then, Flash affirmed with his gaze, "All I need to do is go to the central scientific institute of Krypton, find Superman's father, Jor-El, and I can determine how old H'el is now."

"Wait for me, I'll be back soon," Flash's feet stirred up arcs of electricity, about to run away, but Batman stopped him.

"Wait a minute, Flash," Batman intervened, his face serious, his eyes flashing as he spoke, "When you find him, don't act on your own, come back first."

Flash solemnly nodded, arcs of electricity flickering, disappeared into the alley.

Luthor glanced at Batman, stepped out of the alley, and found that the environment outside was not much better than the alley. Dilapidated adobe houses, cramped spaces, lifeless Kryptonians, and flies buzzing around.

He furrowed his brow deeply, "Is this Krypton?"

Suddenly, Luthor felt extremely disappointed. How could a Krypton like this be worth opposing him?

He shook his head and sighed.

Flash's speed was even faster than they had imagined. Just as Luthor stepped out of the alley and sighed, Flash returned.

"I think I found him," Flash's eyes were filled with surprise, confusion, and hesitation, not knowing how to handle the situation, and returned to say.

Batman and Luthor exchanged a glance.

"Take us there," Batman said calmly, unusually calm.

Flash nodded, arcs of electricity enveloping them, everything around them turning into lines, and in an instant, they arrived at an elementary school.

A boy about 1.4 meters tall looked longingly at his classmates playing on the playground, eager to join them.

The four stood in the shadow of the teaching building, watching the boy.

"Is that him? The young Emperor of Krypton," Batman asked calmly.

"Yes, I went to find Jor-El and inferred his age from Jor-El's age. I searched all the elementary schools in Kandor, checked many paper documents. To ensure accuracy, I searched all the schools, universities, and academies five times. His name didn't repeat. It's confirmed that he is the future Emperor of Krypton—H'el," Flash's eyes carried a hint of fatigue.

In that instant, the workload he had undertaken was too great, so much so that he now just wanted to forget everything and empty his mind.

"Very well, Flash, look behind you," Batman stepped forward toward the boy.

Flash subconsciously hesitated, looked behind him, but there was nothing behind him.

Batman had already drawn his M9 pistol and aimed at the boy's temple.

'Bang'
