Chapter 20

*

I let out a sight of relief immediately Danny left my room. This was getting too much for me to handle alone.

I mean don't get me wrong, it was great at the beginning but now it's just plain creepy, like some twisted thriller movie.

I walked over to lock my door then went straight to my bed, laid down facing the ceiling

"I need to get out of here" I said to myself

I missed my whole life back at home. This place was nothing like home, well except for Robert. He was the only thing helping me keep my sanity in this place, he also made me feel better about this place, infact he was the only thing I was grateful for...

I sat up on my bed and smiled. I think I know how to escape this death hole. For now, I had to get ready for my last date with the Ethan of this world. Weird.

The Next Day

I woke up feeling better than I usually do because I believed that this would be my last day in this world

I walked over to the vanity to see how I looked when something caught my eye

It was the crystal gem, still as beautiful as ever "Let's get out of here, shall we" I said having the crystal give a faint glow

I ran downstairs to greet everyone but surprised at what I saw...

They were here, all of them. Alex, Valery and Danny.

They were having breakfast with my family, even Zack and Zoe were down early

The only person missing was Tyler and that was because of work. There was no turning back

"Good morning everyone" Everyone turned around to face me making me a bit nervous

"Oh hi Jess, how was your date yesterday" Danny asked as I made my way to sit down close to Dad

"Oh, we broke up" I said casually

Dead silence. I don't know how else to explain the atmosphere at the table but it was like time stopped for a whole minute

"You what?" Danny asked trying to sound calm but failed

"Yeah, we broke up and ended it as friends" I said taking a piece of toast and spreading butter on it

Immediately Danny stood up, I could feel the anger radiating off her

"I think we need to go. Sorry Stella, we have to go, is that okay with you" Danny asked forcing a smile

I just sat there eating my breakfast unfazed, but obviously I was scared but I knew that this was for the best, for all of us.

I realized that if I wanted to leave this world I'd have to come clean with my feelings and accept life the way it was and is now

"Aren't you coming" Danny asked distracting me from my breakfast

"Nah, I'll catch up with you at school" I said

"You sure, it'll be more fun with more people in the car" Danny tried again

"Nah, I have to go somewhere after, so I'm good" I said giving her a thumbs up

I could almost be very certain I saw smoke come out her ears, I smiled and winked at her.

I guess that ticked her off cuz she stormed out of the house.

"Sweetie are you alright" my Mom asked

"I'm better than I'll ever be, Why?" I asked

"Don't push it Mom, it was bound to happen anyways" Zack spoke for the first time not looking up from his food

"Shut up Zack, Jess are you sure you made the right decision, I'm worried about you. I don't think you understand what Danny is capable of" Zoe said and it was obvious she was worried

"My daughter is strong, nothing's to big for her to handle" Dad said from his newspaper

"But-"

"I think it time for the kids to head to school" Dad said cutting Mom off

As he stood up he sent me a wink as I mouthed back a thank you. I just got a overflowing amount of courage to take up the task at hand.

Later that Day

Everyone had been avoiding me and when I say everyone, I meant everyone

Since I walked through that front door everyone's been whispering stuff and pointing at me

It was lunch now and people were still whispering things thankfully I live up to the name Ice princess or Queen whatever

I sat at an empty table, the rest of my friends where nowhere to be found, I needed to make things right with them

I finished my short lunch and began my hunt for my friends

I went towards the big oak tree we hung out at and surly, they were there, I began walking over to them when I heard their conversation

"...That's what she said before Danny suggested we left the house" AJ finished

I guess she was telling them what happened earlier

"Could that be why Danny told us to avoid her and spread the news of Jessica's and Ethan's breakup" Ace asked

"Could you guys not worry, the least we know is that Jess a strong girl, and let's face it, she's practically the only one who can face Danny" Valery said from her spot under the tree

"Nae, you're right" Ace said

"Dude, could you stop that Japanese thing when we're alone" Jack snapped at Ace

"Mi-Sorry" He said laughing awkwardly

"I do hope she'll be fine" AJ said

"I thought you didn't like her" Valery asked

"I really don't know, I think there's a chance that she wants to change but can't because of you know who" AJ stated

"By the way Valery, you're strong and independent, why are you hanging out with Jessica" AJ asked

"I don't know, probably for the thrill of it and definitely the benefits" Valery answered

"I know right" Jack chipped in as everyone bursted into laughter

I smiled too, just listening to my friends gave me an extra boost of confidence. I already knew what I had to do

I decided to skip the rest of school since I didn't think I needed it

I got into my car and started to the last stop of the day: The café Robert worked at.

It took a good 45 minutes to get to the café and as I pulled over into the driveway I took in a deep breath. It was almost time to end everything.
