ITS BELLA, NOT ISSABELLA

An hour went by as I could feel my phone buzz in my pocket as a notification from Steve popped up:

"Hey kid, something came up, I'm not going to be able to pick you up, today." Steve texted.

After the debacle we settled down a bit, as I did the rest of the homework pretty quickly. Mostly listening to Jessica and Angela conversation about girls' stuff before placing my headphones in.

The sounds of [New Edition] played in my headphones, as Eric played around on his phone. The sound played against the rain.

As a blackish blue Suburban and a Chevy Astro pulled up. Mike and the other guys got out, as they also had Lauren riding with Tyler.

Waving through the glass they all came in and sat at the table,

"Hey, what up?" Mike said, walking in the door, as if it was lightly raining outside, as droplets of water were all over his jacket.

"Hey Mike, you want something."

"Yeah, just get me my usual" he said, sitting down at the table.

"Me too," Tyler said after.

"Yeah if only you paid me back from the last time." Connor said, joking around. As Tyler followed saying his plea. As Lauren followed silently behind them.

"Hey y'all, hear about the animal attack in the next county over." Ben said.

"Yeah, it was gruesome, 3 campers died," Ben said.

As Angela covered her mouth and Jessica rolled her eyes, Eric was still engrossed in his phone. I didn't really care, so I said nothing.

But I looked at Ben for a minute, as he has been having a problem with me for a minute now, and I still don't know why. But now I get the jest of it. And I hope the next time I see him alone; we're going to scrape.

"Well god bless" the families Angela said, hold a silent prayer for them.

The rest of the gang came over from ordering, as everyone started talking about random topics. The boys talked about the recent season they've been having, as they didn't think they would make it to the playoffs.

I checked my phone for the time, as it was about 2 hours we had spent studying, so I got up to leave and grabbed my stuff, saying goodbye to the girls, and Eric by patting him on his back as I left. Jolting him into reality.

Jessica tried to offer me a ride, but I declined. Wanting a little time to myself and the light rain had given up for now. The rest just watched as I walked out the door and headed down the street to the high school.

Walking through the school to the 2-mile trek to the house. I walked down the rest of the stairs, and headed across the parking lot, to the street leading towards my house.

I kept walking down the street until I heard a beeping noise. As an old red truck, but due to old age, it now looks orange.

"Hey, you need a ride or something?" a brown-haired girl asked, I looked at her and realized it was the other new girl from lunch, and Bio II. and could see the rain as it looked like it was picking up in the distance, the cloudy sky now a light drizzle again.

"Yeah, if it is not a problem" I said, moving over to the passenger side of the truck.

'Thanks again," I said, as she nodded and started to drive again.

"Oh, so you're the police chief's daughter" as she was the reason why chief swan headed out early yesterday.

"Yeah, he's my dad, so what about you" she said.

"Officer Steve, is mine," I said, clearly uncomfortable with that fact. but we continued to drive on.

"So where are you from?" She spoke.

"Chicago, and you" I said "Arizona" she said back.

"You're a little Pasty for a chick from Arizona?" looking at her up and down.

"Yeah, I get that a lot" She said "My mom says I'm part Albino" she said, as I snicker at the light joke.

"You were getting groceries?" I spoke.

"Yeah, my dad Charlie doesn't really cook, so I bought some stuff." she said continuing on.

We rode in silence for the rest of the car ride, before Bella stopped by the street I indicated, right before going down the driveway. "Hey if you need a ride home tomorrow, just let me know."

"Yeah, will do." I said before closing the door and headed toward the house.
