BETTER DAYZ

We made it to the police station, to take off the tracker, before we drove the rest of the way to the school house in silence. Pulling into the school parking lot. the sign stating: "Home of the Forks high school Spartans." I scoffed before getting out of the cruiser.

"Well, I can't pick you up after I leave, so just come down to the station when you're done with school, alright." he said, speeding off back to work.

I turned around, headed in the direction of the large red brick building. There were not a lot of people in the parking lot, just a few cars and students, as it was early morning. As i got stared at, for the unexpected entrance. As they stared at my face wondering who it was.

I placed my hood up and put my headphones in Playing [J.Cole - BETTER DAYZ], as I followed along the trail of car's to the stairs as everyone headed to the main entrance area, as I followed finding the main office as a dainty little sign was right above the door.

Inside, it was brightly lit, and warm. The office was small with a little waiting area, padded folding chairs, an orange-flecked commercial carpet, notices and awards cluttering the walls, a big clock ticking loudly.

There were different plants growing everywhere in large plastic pots, as if there weren't enough plants outside. The room was cut in half by a long counter, cluttered with wire baskets full of papers and brightly colored flyers taped to its front.

There were three desks behind the counter, one of which was manned by a big, red-haired woman wearing glasses and bus shaped earrings. As well as a shimmering  green blouse and flowy white skirt with green lizards on it.

Noticing the door, she got up and came to the counter. "Can I help you, dear?"

"I'm Aiden White," I informed her, and saw the immediate realization, glow light up in her eyes.

"Of course, you must be Deputy Steve's son," she said. She dug through a precariously stacked pile of documents on her desk till she found the ones she was looking for. "I have your schedule right here, and a map of the school." She brought several sheets to the counter to show me.

She went through my classes for me, highlighting the route to each on the map, and gave me a slip to have each teacher sign, which I was to bring back at the end of the day.

She smiled at me and hoped, like Steve, that I would like it here in Forks. I looked at her, with an indifferent smile, placing everything inside my bag. Walking out of the door to my first class.

Walking out the door without looking I bumped into someone on the way out.

"Hey, watch it buddy" said getting up from the ground. Others looked at the incident, but kept walking past.

"Sorry I didn't see you there" I said, holding out my hand to help her up. As it was a taller then average girl about "6 '1" with long light brown hair, with streaks of honey as she was on the skinny side for my taste, but she had a kind face with light brown eyes.

She took my hand, and stared up at my face as she readjusted her glasses." Oh, you must be, Aiden white?" She said my name as if she knew me for a while, as I looked at her with curiosity, and confusion wondering how she knew my name.

"You must be confused, I'm Angela Webber, I'm a part of the Welcoming Committee, and a couple of other things around school," she said, placing out her hand to give me an awkward hand shake.

"Aiden, but you already knew that" I said, giving her a nice smile. "Nice to meet you". I said releasing my hand.

"You too.. Well we can walk and talk as I show you around. But the tour will be short." she said walking down the hallway.

As she showed me around pointing and explaining stuff around the campus before the first bell. What classes are good and what teachers are not. And the best way, to get to class that was not explained by Mrs. receptionist. We walked around until the first bell of the day rang in our ear's.

"Aiden, I guess that's a wrap." she said finishing the tour.

"Well, thank you for showing me around Angela. It was fun." I said, showing her a small smile and a wave. Before starting to walk down the hallway in an unknown direction, but stopped.

"What's your first class?" she asked.  She said, trying to keep a small laugh from escaping.

"Gym" I said clearly lost in the direction I needed to go.

"Well that's great!, I have it as well" she said with a smile. "Would you like to follow me?" she said, before beginning to walk the other way down the hall.

Shaking my head, I stubble right after her,  trying not to be late on my first day as well. Lord knows what Steve would do if that happened.
