!!GOOD LUCK, CHARLIE!!

I sat down in a kitchen with a small table and two chairs. There was a fridge and cabinet and a small table, with a plain granite counter that had multiple ways to make coffee, and other items.

I did the homework that was assigned to me, putting my headphones in to listen to music as I went and did my homework for the day. As some of my teachers thought it would be funny to give it to me on the first day.

But regardless if I care or not some of the teachers think it's an opportunity to catch up with the others even if I have  already taken the class, the work should be easy.

At least I hope I still have some of my old homework on my laptop, maybe I can get something out of it. At least they won't know about it.

thirty minutes later…

A medium built man walking in wearing a uniform and badge, grabbing a pot of warm coffee and pours himself a cup. His black hair and olive skin shone, as small water droplets covered his face, as if he was running a marathon.

After pouring himself a cup, he finally noticed me as he looked at me with a puzzled look. Before sitting down at the table.

"Oh hey, you must be Steve's boy, right?" he said, taking a sip of coffee. Looking at me with curiosity, but a little bit guarded.

"Yes Sir, Aiden White" I said, placing my hand out. He took it and we shook. Taking my headphones out of my ears.

"I am Charlie Swan, chief of the Fork police department, nice to meet you" he said, withdrawing his hand, taking another sip.

"Where are you from, Aiden?"  Chief Swan said

"Chicago, Sir" I said, clearly feeling the awkwardness in the conversation.

"The Cubs haven't played them in a while. Do you play any sports?" he said, moving to baseball.

"I used to play basketball, but things happened, and I wasn't able to play anymore." I said, feeling a little past pain.

Well if you ever feel like playing again, the basketball team would sure like to have you. I would say so cuz we haven't won a game in a while. But I digress." Chief Charlie said, with a cheap smile, going over the small history of the basketball team.

The blaring of the intercom sounded, and the room got a little awkward. "Chief Charlie, it is time for you to pick up Isabella from the aeropuerto." Mrs. Blossom said. (Airport).

"Well got to go.. Nice meeting you Aiden, I hope your stay in forks is a nice one, have a nice day" he said getting up and placing his cup into the sink, and moving to the door.

But right before he left. "I understand what you're going through, coming from Chicago, but please don't bring up what happened over there. here. I don't want the good folks to be scared over nothing. Or to find a dead body and have to talk to Steve about it. Ok" He said, getting serious for a little bit.

"Sir, I didn't come here to cause trouble, I was sent here, I just want to lay low and do my time, ok" I said meaning what I say.

"Oh Ok, and hey kid, I understand but don't try to get into any trouble, and don't stay out too late. There are some dangerous animals out there, ok." he said, as I nodded again and he headed out the door, as his face fully changed to one of joy and giddiness as he was happy that his daughter was finally coming home to him.

An hour later…

After finishing my homework I scrolled around the web for a bit about forks before looking at some videos, and taking a quick nap.

But I was soon woken up out of my sleep by Mrs. Blossom over the Intercom. "Aiden… Aiden, please come to the front desk please, Mijo".

A little groggy, I got up and fixed myself before grabbing my backpack and placing all my items into my bag and left the breakroom.

Heading past the door and all the office desks filled with different case files and papers. I could hear Mrs. Blossom talking to a young girl as they argued about something.

"Mija, I just want you to be safe, it 's just for today, ¿Por qué estás preocupado?" Mrs. Blossom said.
