CHAPTER 6: Premonition and mission

"Damn!!" you shouted in pain

"gah! this really hurts!!" you said with a mix of anger and frustration

As the pain keeps you awake as you stayed in the room and hoping that the enemy will not found you, even though your vision are starting to fade, you force yourself to open it as you squeeze harder in your wound to stop the bleeding. A couple minutes later the door opens up as you readied your pistol aimed at whoever enters the room only to see John with wounds on his hands and upper left leg and bruises in his face.

"What happened here?" he ask as he looks at the corpse

"What happened to YOU!" you said emphasizing the You.

"We should head down first because we are both wounded..i already signalled Alex and Arvin to rescue us" he said as you sighs in relief

"I still cannot believe how Arvin managed to kill the boss without any bruises or even wounds" he added with a surprise tone as you look at him pondering as well.

"How did you know he was not wounded?" you ask

"He walk back down and sees me probably after killing the boss...he said that he will go down to get Alex and Cassandra" he replied

"So did you get any items?"

"Only one but i can't seem to give it to others" replied John as you decided to ask G7 for information. As G7 hovers around you which surprises John a lot.

"The questions will be answered later" you said quickly before John started to talk

"How to give items to comrades?" you ask

"By trading. You can get the item if you trade one of your item to them or you can forcefully get the item by killing them" G7 responded

"So trading huh? hey John what is the item you got?" you ask as you looked at him

"Atlas..Speed Boots which doubles your speed overall" he said as he equipped it to see a blue boots which looks to be advance.

"Arvin would want that" you suggested as you feel your body weakening due to blood loss.

"Hey? you okay?" ask John with a worried look

"Yeah..i feel fine" you replied with a half smile.

After a few minutes you hear Arvin shouting

"John!David!! where are you?" he shouted

"Im here!!" John shouted back.

As silence covers the room. You started to get worried. The pain is really unbearable but you force yourself as you squeeze it tighter. Your eyes are shutting down but you stubbornly decided to open it. You are in verge of unconsciousness as you squeezed some words.

"Hey...shush! it might be a monster" you said with a worried look as you ready your gun

"No way" as John peek over to see a large brown centipide worm-like monster with the face of Arvin crawling as it slithered to every room in the hall way as John jumped back as he covers his mouth

"Fuck...what happen to them?" John whispered as he was worried about the others. Your forehead starts to sweat as you feel queasy in your legs. You can't walk at all. Your blood starts to drip in the floor where you are sitting. The pain starts to get the best of you as you grunt every time you feel your stomach tightening. You tried your best to stay silent so the monster doesn't hear you.

As the monster slithers towards your room. You hear another shout.

"Hey!! Monster! im about to cut you in half" shouted Arvin that you can clearly hear across the hall

"Creee" shrieked the monster that you can even hear meaning that the monster are close.

You didn't see the battle but you certainly heard some grunting and something plops to the ground as you were filled with fear. Your consciousness was gone as you laid in the ground.

"David!!run!!" shouted John as he was stabbed in the stomach by a bladed black humanoid monster. You can't believe what's happening as you inspect yourselve to be bleeding from your head while you look at the suv that was in flame and destroyed.You jerked your head towards to your left as see corpses of Alex torned in half and Cassandra crushed by the suv. You screamed in horror as you noticed that Arvin fighting the monster with only one arm. Suddenly you woke up from a dream

"Gahh!!" you shouted as you realized you were sitting in the suv as you were looked at by Cassandra with a worried look

What was that dream?...its to damn real..is it a premonition?

As you sweat profusely and your hands starts to shake while your eyes dilate as you see the buildings where your dream happen.

"Turned back!! i said turned backk!!!" you shouted on top of your lungs and luckily Arvin complied and made a u turn as the humanoid monster pounced but luckily it misses and started running towards you with its skin and bones can be seen with a height of 20 meters as it wildly swings its sword.

"Damn!! speed up!!" you shouted with a panicked tone

"Dammit!! it might reach us,Alex shoot it and John shoot it too" commanded Arvin as Alex and John opened the windows and started gunning the monster but the bullets were bounced off the bones of the monster and it doesn't penetrate it

"Bullets doesn't work!!" shouted John as he was reloading.

"Damn!!" cursed Arvin

"G7 what is the weakness of this monster?" you ask as the robot floats near you

"Explosion and Combustion of flames" responded G7 as it enters back to your bag.

"Explanations later..so how can we explode that thing?" you ask to the group as you pointed at it.

"We don't have any rpg but we have grenades" shouted Arvin

"That's enough" you replied as John gives you a grenade.

"Chuck it at the monster" said John as you take the pin off which is pretty hard but luckily you were able to take it off and chucked it to the monster as it explodes on impact as you heard a shriek from the monster as the 3 of you were chucking grenades to it until the carcass were destroyed leaving a black orb as you said to stop the car as you run to grab the orb and went back to the car.

"Okay you need some explaining" said Arvin with his crossed arm. After you explained what G7 is and every information you learned the group were nodding

"Okay what Items did you get?" you ask

"I was able to find 3 but i only grab 1 which is an is an upgrading chip which upgraded my sword so i can throw it and it goes back to me like in xtar wars while i grab another one only to trade with John for the Speed boots while the other item were grab by Alex" said Arvin as he demonstrates how to throw his weapon and it returned back to his hand

"Well the one Arvin traded me is Dagger Haespaestus which if I stab a person all the noise around me and him were silenced allowing for stealth kills and it injects a paralyzing poison to the victim" added John as he equipped a dagger with its hilt to be violet and its curved steel blade with a violet tip on the end of the blade

"The one i got is a Electrical Charge Pistol which if I charge it for 3 seconds a large electric ball will be generated but the farther the target the smaller it will become" as Alex demonstrated as she equipped it with a pistol in orange color with electric blue lines with its barrel to be a crescent-like a satellite with a little antenna which generates the electricity as it goes larger to the size of a normal human as Alex presses the trigger as it moves quickly as it destroys the tree where Alex is aiming at.

"That's..strong" you said impressed by the destructive capabilities

"Indeed" replied Alex in a cold and stern tone

"So what do we do next?" asked John

"Given that the monster is back, we should gather more items" as Arvin keeps looking around.

"Agreed, but how do we find one? don't say we are gonna kill again?" a question from Alex that comes with a stern look.

"Killing is certainly ideal but we are not murderers but survivors" as Arvin sighs in disbelief as he shakes his head

"Then what do we do!" with a loud voice coming from Alex as she storms back to the car.

"Really? does she really think that she's the queen? barking orders left and right" as Arvin clicks his tongue. You can see an annoyed look coming from Arvin as he sits on one of the benches.

"So,David what do we do?" as John looks at you

"We should complete some mission" with a sigh you called out to G7 as the orb floats near you once again

"Any missions?" you ask hoping there will be easier missions

"Currently there are 3 missions for the day with every mission done you can get an item

Killing the black slime 0/3

Find a safe haven

Get 3 items 2/3"

"So we need to kill 3 black slime, find a safe haven and get 3 items" John smiled for your information as he hits your back

"Good job, i gotta tell Arvin about this" as John walks towards Arvin while you decided to enter the suv

You knocked on the car door as Alex open it

"Hey..we have something to do know" you gave her a half-smile and hoped for the best

"Good" as she turns around without even giving you a smile as you entered the suv and sat near Cassandra

"Hey, thanks for healing us" you smiled and offered her a handkerchief

"Its the only thing i can do for the team.." she grabs your handkerchief as she looked outside the window

"Im probably useless without my healing.." She said with a tone of sadness

"No, that's not true"

"Usefulness can not be determined by the ability to kill, its the ability to love, care and respect" You pat her head gently as she turns around and you gave her a bright smile before getting out of the suv

As you step outside the car to see Arvin walking towards you

"Does what John says is all true?" he demanded answers with an aggressive tone. A man without patience will die foolishly

"Yes, but we need to make a plan"

"Then lets go" as Arvin and John enter the suv while you followed

After a few minutes of silence. John decided to break the silence

"So how do we find a black slime?"

"I know a place crowded by them, they are rather slow but only fire affects them" replied Arvin without looking at John as John shuts up

"So how do we kill them?" as you pondered how to kill the slime with a fire but even you did one yourself

"By using some alcohol, it might be expensive given that alcohol can clean wounds but we have a healer."

"Oh ok" as you decided to shut up while you caught Cassandra staring at you but decided to ignore it

"So where is this place?" you ask

"We are already here" as the car stops and Arvin goes out and used his sword while Alex opened the windows to shoot any monster as you and John goes outside to see 2 small black slimes

"So this thing, is what we need to kill?" chuckled John as Arvin ignored the remark

"This is better if you ask me" as you started dousing the little slimes in alcohol and lights the thing on fire

"We need to be careful, there might be monsters lurking" said Arvin as he looked at buildings around the group

"Ok 2 down, 1 to go but where is the other slime" asked John as he scratches his head

"They're near the building to the left" pointed Arvin where you can see a black slime. You rushed towards the slime and poured alcohol to it. Then you burned the slime as you can feel your bag shaking.

"Congratulations, please choose an item" responded G7 as it hovers around you

"Give me an Orion item" as a bright orange light engulfed you as Arvin shouted in panic

As you see an orange hologram of throwing knives. Suddenly you hear a loud roar coming from the inside of the abandoned building as you grab the knives and run towards the suv

"Go!! the monster saw the light!!" you shouted as Arvin and John enters the suv while you followed. As the engine revved and the car started moving as you see what seems to be an overlarge tiger covered in black with spikes coming out of its back as it chases the car. You see Cassandra terrified as she hugs her knees with a frightened expression

"Cassandra!! get yourself together!" you shouted at her but she seems to be out of it as you gave up.

"Dammit!!our luck really sucks right?" Alex complained as she opens the window and started shooting electrical balls toward the beast

"Congratulations! Please choose--

"Not right now please!" as you ignored G7 and opened the window at your side

I hope this knife is useful to monsters. You hoped as the monster closes in the car.
