CHAPTER 5: Heartbreak and Fear

"Thanks" as she goes beside Alex leaving you in the back.

"G7..where is John?" you ask as your bag started shaking violently as the floating orb goes near you.

"Approximately 1.274 kilometres towards where your walking" responded G7

"So that's bastard is still alive..good for him" you said with a smile

"How about Lena?" you ask

"Cannot determine..Status:Dead..killed by a Class 5 entity" respond

"She's...dead?"you said as you feel a pain in your chest. She is your friend. One of your only friends.

I...i will take revenge on that monster!!...but no! Lena wouldn't want me to take the risk knowing her and since the capital is covered with monster...no time to mourn..

"Dammit!! how many would have to die.." you said with a broken tone of sadness as you feel a tear coming from your eye but you quickly erases it.

After your group travels for a while you see John waving at you. As Alex readies her gun aimed at John. As John disappears and appears in front of you with a smirk

"Cool right?" he said with a proud tone

"So this must be Abyss item..a teleportation then" you said nodding at him

"How did you know?!" he said with a shocked face but he laughed after a pats your back

"Im happy to see you alive and well but do you mind if me and my friend tags with you guys?" he said with a pleading tone

"Nope" said Alex with a serious tone

"I don't mind" said Cassandra with a smile

"Sure" you added

"Really?..i give up with this group" as she rolls her eyes. As Cassandra chuckles

"Arvin!!! come here!!" shouted John

Suddenly you see a black suv armoured with metal plates while the tires are covered with bulletproof material which surprises all of you.

"Hi..im Arvin..i am an engineer, age 21..nice to meet you all" he said with a smile and a gentle tone

"Do you have any items?" you ask as John opens up the doors to let Alex and Cassandra enter while you sits near Arvin as John sits at the back.

"I have the Mk2-Red Plasma Katana, which is utter useless if i can't speed up to dodge bullets and i am not going in front without a tank" he said without taking his eyes toward the road as it does a u-turn.

"Can i see it?" you ask

"It might burn you since it materialize directly in my hands so no..not right now" he replied

"Of course" you said as you looked at the window.

As John and Cassandra keep on talking about seamlessly useless topics as Alex sleeps while you continued looking at the window until you noticed there are more crashed vehicles and rotten corpses of people which the smell can't reach you. As Alex noticed it and ignored it while Cassandra started shaking in fear. As Alex hugs her to calm her down.

"You know if you kill people who have items...they will drop it?" said Arvin which scared you and you raised your guard up.

"I'm only saying..because if we intended to kill the three of you..you woudln't be even standing right now..or sitting" Arvin added with a smile

"Don't worry David...he is only joking" said John as he sighs.

"I hope cause if not..this car will be destroyed" you said with anger.

"Chill..dude" says Arvin as suddenly the car stopped in the skyscraper with windows destroyed and the signs of panic and destruction can be seen.

"Why are we stopping!!" shouted Alex as she was suspicious all the time.

"We are killing people...bad people..thugs who gathers all woman and rapes them since all the monsters disappeared due to unknown location" said Arvin with a serious voice as he gets out of the suv.

"But..we don't have the right" pleaded Cassandra.

"So we will wait for them to cause more despair?!." shouted Arvin in anger as he summons his katana which the side of the blade is glowing in bright red like the lightsaber in Star Wars and walked towards the building.

"Give me a sniper and i can help" said Alex with a serious tone as John gives him a Modern Sniper Rifle

"Please..don't be like them.." pleaded Cassandra as she holds Alex's hands but Alex shakes her hand off

"We need to be..we need to survive" replied Alex with a sad tone as she looks at Cassandra and walks out the car followed by John.

"Cassandra..you can stay here" you said with a gentle tone as you walked outside and closed the door as you hear Cassandra sobbing

"So any plan?" you ask

"Given that there are at least 20 people scattered the building...we should do it silently as possible. The last thing we want is a gun battle" explained Arvin as he rushes towards the building.

"I should snipe some of them and cover support" said Alex as she runs the opposite building

"Let's go David...i know this is not pretty but we gotta do what we feel is right" said John with a sad tone as he pats your back and follows Arvin.

As the 3 of you go to separate floors. You decided to go through the emergency exit upwards to find some bandits

As you go to what seems to be abandoned offices with lights hanging on the floor while some blood can be seen with computers sparking and flickering while chairs and desks were mauled or destroyed. You stayed low and avoided to make much noise as possible as you walk towards a door. You put your ear near the door to hear anything in the hallway. You hear some footsteps of 2 men talking and mumbling which you ignored and waited for the perfect time to strike. As both men past the door where you are. You opened it slightly and rushes to one of them and punches him in the back of the face with your right arm which cracks his skull as his dead body flew a couple of meters as his companion was about to turn around only to be punched again in the stomach which destroys his abdomen and he started bleeding out of his mouth as he falls to the ground. You feel terrified of what you just did as you rush back to the room.

"Dammit!..i can't stop my hands and legs from shaking" you said with a horrified expression as you looked at your hands and legs as it shakes akin to your fear. You grab your head in despair

I'm not a monster right?! right?!

"Shit!!..i need to calm myself" you said to yourself as you sit with your back behind the wall.

Suddenly you hear a loud bang of a sniper rifle which you assume to be Alex. As you ran towards the stairs only to be stopped by bullets as it barely misses you as you look to see a man with Ak-47 reloading. You run back to the room and trying to ambush the enemy as you hide behind one of the sofas. Several seconds later you hear the door banging open as a man yells

"Ya scum!! i gonna kill ya" he said in a coarse voice and an accent

As you can hear footsteps as the man roamed the room until he walks toward the sofa where you hiding. Suddenly you jumped at him tackling him down as you tried to punch him only to be hit by the barrel of the gun in your head which cuts you as he kicked you in the guts but you grab his legs with your strong arm and twisted it making the man scream in pain as you let go of him as he holds his twisted legs as he curses you until he sees you pointing a gun in his head.

"Please..don't..i i have a son to find..im only sticking to them to survive" said the man in a sad voice as he pleaded and tears start appearing on his cheeks.

"Ok..ill let you go..but if i find you again with this thugs" as you gesture him saying he will die as you turned around which is a mistake as the man snickered

"Fooled ya!!" he shouted as he shoots the ak-47 in your back but you were able to punch him in the face as it cracks. Although it didn't pierce it hurts a lot and you are losing blood rapidly as you crawled toward the wall as you see a man laid down with his twisted leg and an open skull surrounded by a pool of blood while a blood trail can be seen where you crawled. As you were about to lose consciousness from blood loss you rip a piece of your clothing and started pressuring the wound at the back of your abdomen as it hurts a lot but it will slow down the bleeding. You feel a sharp extreme pain in your stomach as you gripped it harder as you grumbled in pain. You are starting to lose consciousness. The world seems to be blank and emotionless
