The Persuasion

Sebastian gave a faint smile.

"Now I know the reason why fate brought you to me. You have been through hell Seraphina and you still try your best to look like the happy soul you are supposed to be even though you are completely broken inside... You are here now, I can help you take revenge on that monster that broke you so much. Just tell me what you want...."

Seraphina took a few steps away from Sebastian, and with her thoughts in total chaos, she slowly sat down back on the couch.

She took several deep breaths as if trying to control herself from crying again.

Sebastian was quiet, he just stared at her and gave her time. He didn't know how she was feeling inside at this moment as he was insisting on something that she probably had never even thought of before.

His thoughts slowly wandered back to his fiancee, Evelyn. He wondered if things would have been different if she would probably still been here with him if she had not told him about what had happened at her workplace.

He had always thought it was his fault that Evelyn took her life the way she did even though at that moment, he had tried to be as understanding and supportive as he could. He always wondered what would have happened if he had acted a bit differently than he had. He shook his head as if trying to shake the thoughts away.

He had to be strong and reason well, for there was a stranger who needed his help even though she didn't know it yet.

Seraphina slowly raised her head to face Sebastian.

"It just got to me that I have never even thought about fighting back.

After all that Ethan and his family did to me, all I was thinking about was how to survive, how to live on, how to be happy".

Sebastian moved close to her.

"And it's been Six years Seraphina? Why do you think you are still not happy? Why do you think you are still barely surviving?"

"I don't know," Seraphina said in a whisper

"It's obvious Seraphina. Your soul craves revenge. It needs revenge to feel better after everything you have been through.

Ethan and his family need payback for everything they have done to you.

You have been living under the same roof with your parents, the same people who couldn't fight for you or have your back during your troubled days but just watched you fall into this sad and broken soul. Right now you are completely dependent on them, Seraphina, and that has to stop." Sebastian stated, his tone low

Seraphina took a deep breath.

"I know. I have been a complete mess. I have just been living like someone who doesn't have a life.

My parents are partly at fault for how I am now,

But how do I even take revenge on my own parents? I have never even thought of that?"

"By getting up strong on your own two feet," Sebastian said.

"You've shown them your weakness for six years Seraphina, get up, do something that would make you be you again, that's how you take revenge on them."

"I don't even know who I am anymore and I do not even remember how it feels to be happy like I was before," Seraphina stated

"Well, why don't we find out together," Sebastian said. With that, Sebastian stood up to his feet.

"Just let me know when you are ready, I'll be waiting Seraphina" he added and with his hands in his pockets, he walked over to the window side.

Sebastian was willing to help Seraphina. He felt bad for her and how she had been living her life like she didn't have one.

He also didn't feel good about the fact that the person who made her this broken was living his life freely as if nothing happened and even dared to want to make Seraphina his wife without her consent after six years like he felt bored of not having someone to toy with anymore like he used to in high school.

The thought of this was making his skin boil with so much anger.

He just hoped that Seraphina was willing to make them pay back because they really would deserve it.

"What chance do I even have to win if I decide to take revenge on Ethan and his family? Seraphina asked slowly, making Sebastian turn his back and face her.

"What do I even fight with?, I'm empty and I have nothing to my name compared to them! And where do I even start from? How do I even know when it's time to stop? I'm clueless!" Seraphina added, sounding so broken down and confused.

Sebastian quickly moved closer to her. He sat down with her on the couch and slowly held her hands.

"Hey, hey, take it easy," he said softly.

"That's why you have me. I brought up the idea of taking revenge on those people because I am completely willing to help, Seraphina. You are not alone anymore.

And I believe fate brought you to me for this reason, and I promise to be there with you through it all and I will make sure it's a success. I'll make sure you are happy and content at the end of it all. Just say the word"

Seraphina was quiet and still for a few seconds as if lost in deep thoughts with her head facing down.

All of the six years she had been trying her best to live and be happy but none of it happened.

It only got worse and now with the sudden marriage arrangement with Ethan, the monster who had ruined her life, she had to do something before it would all be out of her control like in high school where she was completely helpless and couldn't fight back.

She has someone now, someone she just met today, a complete stranger who believed that fate had brought her to him and was completely willing to help.

She had to take the chance, it was her only hope and her only choice to finally be happy.

Slowly, she finally looked up at Sebastian.

"Okay. I'm in."

Sebastian's face lights up with a smile.

"I'm ready to take revenge".
