Meet The Sullivans

Charlotte Sullivan sat down comfortably on a couch in the luxurious-looking sitting room and in front of her was Gabriela, with her knees on the floor holding Charlotte's hand and carefully painting her fingernails with red nail polish.

A sudden footstep behind Gabriela startled her, she missed her focus and mistakenly painted over Charlotte's nail.

"You stupid brat!!." Charlotte yelled instantly, Gabriela gasped out loudly with fear.

Charlotte used her other hand to aggressively hold Gabriela's jaw and directed the girl's face to hers, a look of total rage on her face.

"Listen to me, Gabriela! If that happens again, be prepared to go hungry for days, you hear me, you little slut." Charlotte slammed before aggressively letting go of Gabriela's face.

Little beads of sweat formed on Gabriela's forehead beneath her bangs and her eyes got blurry with tears.

"I'm not a slut. I'm not a slut." She murmured continuously to herself as she wiped her eyes with the apron on her.

"Are you crying?! How dare you cry?!" Charlotte fired up again getting up on her feet as if ready to unleash her feeling of fury on Gabriela.

Gabriela jerked up scared, silently hoping that Charlotte didn't hear her murmuring about not being a slut.

"Oh, take it easy, Charlotte," Ethan said as he finally walked over to them.

Charlotte quickly sat down pretending as if nothing had happened. She slowly cleared her throat. " Why are you back so early?" She asked her son, Ethan.

Ethan gave a sly smirk to Gabriela who was still on her knees before getting seated beside his mom on the couch.

Ethan let out a barely audible sigh." I got bored."

Charlotte turned to her son with a serious expression on her face and stared at him with a grave look.

"What do you mean you got bored? So you didn't let your father know before you left the company. How do you think he is going to take it when he asks you why you left work so early and you tell him it's because you got bored!." Charlotte yelped out.

"Chill mom. Being this way won't make Dad love you." Ethan stated.

Charlotte gasped out, a little look of surprise and embarrassment on her face.

"This is not about me young man and show a little bit of respect, I'm your mother."

Ethan chuckled dryly. "Don't go there, mother. Where is father by the way?." He asked.

Charlotte turned to Ethan again and stared at him sternly. "He wasn't at the company?"

Ethan shook his head continuously, the expression on his face looked like he was lost in thought. " He wasn't," Ethan said.

"Of course, he is probably with his little mistress" He added.

Charlotte turned away, a look of rage on her face again. She aggressively starts peeling off the paints Gabriela had painted on her nails while continuously biting her lower lips.

"What are you still doing here?"

Charlotte yelped out as her gaze fell on Gabriela still knelt down close to where she sat.

Gabriela looked up quickly. " I..."

"Stop talking and get out of my sight!" Charlotte yelled out.

Gabriela immediately rose to her feet, she quickly gathered the things and walked away briskly out of Charlotte's sight as quickly as her shaky legs could carry her.

Ethan laughed loudly.

"Take it easy, mother. She is not the cause of your heartbreak, your husband is. Taking it all out on the poor maid won't make it any better." Ethan said and concluded with a laugh.

"Leave me alone, Ethan" Charlotte yelped.

Ethan chuckled and sat up.

"I feel so sad to see you this way, mother." He said with a mocking tone and look on his face.

"Lies. I hope you don't treat Seraphina this way when you finally get married to her." Charlotte said.

Ethan sighed and started to walk away.

"I'm marrying her because I love her, mother."

He said.

Ethan suddenly stopped at his track and turned back to face his mother with a sly smile on his face.

"And maybe because I love watching her become more miserable and I love it even more because I am the cause of it all."

He giggled loudly and walked away.

"Like father like son," Charlotte said to herself.

Immediately Ethan was out of sight, Charlotte quickly picked up her phone and dialed a number. She placed the phone on her ear and quickly checked again to confirm that Ethan was really gone.

"Hello madam" A Young man's voice answered

"Hello Dominic" Charlotte called

"Do you need me to come over?" Dominic asked sounding flirtatious

"No. Not today"

"Then what can I do for you today my lady"

" I need you to spy on Edward for me"

"Your husband?" Dominic asked

"Yes. Got any problem with that?"

"No. I'm on it, madam."

"Find him quickly and let me know," Charlotte said and quickly hung up.

She took a deep breath, continuously biting her lower lips nervously.

Outside as Ethan walked to his car, he stopped as he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket. With a tired groan and a little frown on his face, he struggled to pull the phone out of his pocket.

"What took you so long to pick Ethan?" A Lady's voice complained to Ethan as he finally picked up the call.

"What do you want Dorcas?" Ethan asked as he continued the walk to his car.

"Have you forgotten that it's my birthday today? The party is starting soon and you are not here yet."

Ethan froze at his spot as he was about to open the car door. He had truly forgotten about Dorcas's birthday party.

"What's with the silence Ethan? Don't tell me you've actually forgotten about my birthday party, I'm your girlfriend!." Dorcas yelled through the phone.

Ethan sighed exhaustedly, it wasn't even in his mind to go but he would have to avoid problems with Dorcas because she's really a problematic girlfriend.

Ethan was already looking for ways to end his relationship with her since he would be getting married to Seraphina soon. Ethan wanted to end the relationship with Dorcas not because he wanted to be loyal to Seraphina but because he wanted to focus all his energy on tormenting Seraphina's life just like he did in high school.

"Ethan!?" Dorcas loudly called

"Send me the location, I will be right there." Ethan relayed into the phone as he immediately hung up and got into his car.

He planned on ending the relationship with Dorcas today, so his father could believe that he was really serious about marrying Seraphina and hasten the process of convincing Seraphina's parents to give her to him.
