CHAPTER 29 Date Day 3

　　As I went to lift myself up from the sofa, a bustle of noise came through the front door, and averting my attention that way, my mum, Tess, and Georgina, all came scrambling through, carrying various shopping bags in their hands.

　　“What a day!” Tess beamed, coming over to me and flopping back on the sofa.

　　“Any luck with the shopping spree?” I grinned.

　　“Yep, and we got you the most amazing dress!” She smiled, grabbing hold of my arm.

　　Not waiting with bated breath, I hoped that I wouldn’t be dressed up like some over-inflated meringue pie.

　　“Yeah, it was nice of everyone to tell me that there was a ball tomorrow night,” I quipped, watching Georgina and my mum bundle over with the bags.

　　“Sorry, darling, but your date was much more important!” my mum announced, flopping a bag down in front of me. “Here’s your dress. How did the date go?”

　　“Erm…” I took a look around and noticed that everyone was waiting to hear how the fabulous date went. “It was okay,” I mumbled.
