Scream Queen

Nina Skorzeny aka Scream Queen was the former lead singer of the band scare tactics as well as a Vampire. She had heard of a city where night is the most beautiful and many night creatures like herself had started to gather over the last month. Her band had broken up for good this time and she was wanting to get away from her old city. She needed something new in her life.

It was already starting to get dark as she approached Moonlight City. The moment she stepped her foot inside the city, the whole world around her changed. The harvest moon of the night sky and stars surrounding it, seemed much more magical than before. It was hard to put into words, but if she had to, she would say it just 'pops'.

As she was making her way further into the city, she started to see ghost here and there. A sight she had never seen anywhere else. She also passed by a few Vampires like herself. They were getting along with humans instead of drinking their blood or worse. It was a rare sight to see good vampires with self control like herself.

Hearing tales of the Hero that guards this City, it's not surprising that evil would stay away. The Hero King Moonlight was a heartless bastard that would cripple a normal criminal if he saw fit to do so, or so she had heard. The people that have seen and heard him all say the same thing. He's a Demon pretending to be a Hero.

His voice came from the depths of hell, his eyes had lightning dancing in them, the moon on his chest glowed brightly and yet ominously, while his hair looked like a white flame that would get so hot, it would sometimes create lightning itself as well.

They say that if you see his brightly lit self at night, it's already too late. His speed is inhuman, his strength and invulnerability is on par with Superman's, and his brutality is worse than that of Batman.

She had also heard other stories, ones where he treated the good people of his City as if they were all his own children and created miracles. It's hard to imagine both people described are the same person.

After a while of walking she heard a beautiful melody in the distance and the musician side of her drew her closer towards it. She wasn't the only one either, she was followed by a number of other people and ghost as she approached the center of the city where the melody was originating.

After getting close enough she could finally hear the lyrics.

The man singing in a deep and ominous tone had pieced through every defense she had. This man was a Siren in male form. The lyrics he sang sounded more like a magical spell than it did a song.

As she approached the stage he stood upon, he was just finishing up his song, but it was already too late. She had already fallen under his enchanted curse.

After the applause had quieted down, the lights went out. Leaving the area pitch black. Everyone around her acted as if they could not see, but she could still see everything well. With her Vampire abilities, she could see in the dark quite well.

The man on the stage pulled a disco ball out from a place she couldn't see and shortly after that, his clothes changed like a magicians trick. After that she watched the man quickly hang a disco ball before heading back to the mic singing softly in the dark, with only her eyes upon him. A show just for her. After singing the intro verse to the song, he paused.

It was at this moment, after the man had already broken through her guard with his voice, this moment when the lights shot back on and a gust of wind hit her as his voice belted out the next bit of music, this was the moment that she had fallen head over heels. She finally understood what all the fans felt as they attended her concerts if they hadn't left with their ears bleeding or worse.

This song was softer and gentler than the one before, but also more upbeat. It made one want to move and express themselves through dance. She felt a sadness from the lyrics, but at the same time, it encouraged happiness.

She started moving her hips to the beat. Her arms raised up and went this way and that, only to move down her body a bit later. The music had decided what her body was going to do next, she felt she had no control. It was just naturally happening. She had never felt more free and yet under a curse at the same time before.

The man looked down at her and extended his hand with a gesture of invitation.

They danced as he sang and then when it ended, he kissed her hand while thanking her for the dance before the lights went out.

Nina was put under such a heavy trance that she blanked out in her own mind for a solid minute. When she came back to her senses due to the firework blast's, the stage and handsome man in the white suit were nowhere to be seen. It was as if he was never there.

All she knew of him was what he looked like and his stage name that had been written on the stage itself via banner. Thinking fast, she took out her phone and searched his name.

He had other music! She immediately put the music on and looked up at the sky, watching the fireworks.

Her heart felt warm for the first time in years.
