Dakota City Concert (Part 1)

Supergirl was currently in her Kara Kent wig and glasses at the front of the concert like usual. She had not expected a rap concert, but she was also aware that Prince Aeric didn't really have a set genre, he unlike many artist chose to not limit himself when it came to music. It was one of the things his fans liked about him.

As the lights had gone out and her bracelet started flashing with the keyboard note repeatedly at a somewhat slow pace, it seemed to build up anticipation in peoples hearts including her own. When Prince Aeric who was on the platform had raised up fully and was standing on the stage, the bracelets stopped flashing and stayed white as he began to sing. (Kanye West - Runaway)

🎵♪🎶And I always find, yeah, I always find something wrong

You been puttin' up with my shit just way too long

I'm so gifted at finding what I don't like the most

So I think it's time for us to have a toast🎵♪🎶

Supergirl watched in shock as a holographic chalice appeared in her hand out of nowhere. The white color seemed to match the concert bracelet she was wearing. A text was shown on her bracelet at this time as well. The text read: 'Raise your drink up and wave it back and forth' As everyone in the crowd raised up their holographic chalice and waved them back and forth like instructed, the chorus of the song could be heard.

🎵♪🎶Let's have a toast for the douchebags

Let's have a toast for the assholes

Let's have a toast for the scumbags

Every one of them that I know

Let's have a toast for the jerk-offs

That'll never take work off

Baby, I got a plan

Run away fast as you can🎵♪🎶

The lit up chalices swaying back and forth all around had looked beautiful, but once the last lyric of the chorus ended all of the chalices in the crowd disappeared at once.

🎵♪🎶She find pictures in my email

I sent this bitch a picture of my d#ck

I don't know what it is with females

But I'm not too good at that shit

See, I could have me a good girl

And still be addicted to them hoodrats

And I just blame everything on you

At least you know that's what I'm good at

And I always find, yeah, I always find

Yeah, I always find something wrong

You been puttin' up with my shit just way too long

I'm so gifted at finding what I don't like the most

So I think it's time for us to have a toast🎵♪🎶

Once again the chalices appeared in every bracelet wearing persons hand and once again everyone raised their cups and waved them back and forth. The people without bracelets chose to either raise imaginary cups up or a drink they had bought before the show.

🎵♪🎶Let's have a toast for the douchebags

Let's have a toast for the assholes

Let's have a toast for the scumbags

Every one of them that I know

Let's have a toast for the jerk-offs

That'll never take work off

Baby, I got a plan

Run away fast as you can🎵♪🎶

The Chalices once again disappeared with the chorus as Prince Aeric continued to sing.

🎵♪🎶Never was much of a romantic

I could never take the intimacy

And I know I did damage

'Cause the look in your eyes is killing me

I guess you knew of that advantage

'Cause you could blame me for everything

And I don't know how I'ma manage

If one day, you just up and leave

And I always find, yeah, I always find something wrong

You been puttin' up with my shit just way too long

I'm so gifted at finding what I don't like the most

So I think it's time for us to have a toast🎵♪🎶

At this point the crowd didn't need the promt as they all began to raise their holographic chalice.

🎵♪🎶Let's have a toast for the douchebags

Let's have a toast for the assholes

Let's have a toast for the scumbags

Every one of them that I know

Let's have a toast for the jerk-offs

Baby, I got a plan

Run away fast as you can🎵♪🎶

After the music ended, Prince Aeric spoke into the mic. "This next song may come off as a bit preachy but it is dedicated to a good friend of mine that will remain anonymous. He's going through drug and alcohol addiction currently, but he made the choice to get better on his own which takes a lot of will power. He chose family, friends, success, and life over drugs. I am forever proud of this friend. I hope this song reaches those that are also currently in a slumber and need a wake up call".

Supergirl then watched as Prince Aeric with a solemn expression began to rap. (Macklemore - otherside with a bit of red hot chili peppers - otherside sprinkled in at the end)

🎵♪🎶He rolled up, asked him what he was sippin' on

He said, "Lean, you wanna hit it, dawg?"

That's the same stuff Weezy's sippin', huh?

And tons of other rappers that be spittin' hard

Yup, he had five up on

Then went and passed him that Styrofoam

The Easter Pink, heard a rhyme before

Finally got to see what all the hype was on

And then he took a sip, sittin' in the Lincoln

Thinking he was pimpin' as he listened to the system

Little did he know that it was just as addictive as base

Not the kind of hit from the kick drum

Hotbox, let the bass bump

Take it to the face, gulp

Months later the use went up

Every blunt was accompanied by the pink stuff

But goddamn, he loved that feeling

Purple rain coated in the throat, just so healin'

Medicine alleviate the sickness

Liquid affix and it comes with a cost

Wake up, cold sweat, scratchin', itchin'

Tryna escape the skin that barely fit him

Gone, get another bottle just to get a couple swallows

Headed towards the bottom couldn't get off it

Didn't even think he had a problem

Though he couldn't sleep without gettin' nauseous

Room spinnin'

Thinkin' he might have sipped just a little bit too much of that cough syrup

His eyelids closed, shut

Sat back in the chair clutchin' that cup

Girlfriend came and a couple hours later

Said his name, shook him but he never got up

He never got up, he never got up

We live on the cusp of death thinkin' that it won't be us

It won't be us, it won't be us, it won't be us

Nah, it won't be us🎵♪🎶

Prince Aeric sighed softly as the instrumental continued. Dakota city wasn't as bad as Gotham or Moonlight City when it came to crime, but it wasn't far behind and drugs were very common. Many in the crowd could think of a loved one that was struggling with addiction. The people listening understood and felt that sigh deep within their bones. They were tired of losing loved ones to drugs and the people that slang them.

🎵♪🎶Now he just wanted to act like them

He just wanted to rap like him

Us as singers underestimate the power and the effects that we have on these kids

Blunt passed, ash in a tin

Pack being pushed, harassed by the feds

The fact of it is most people that rap like this

Talkin' about some shit they haven't lived

Surprise, you know the drill

Trapped in a box, declinin' record sales

Follow the formula: violence, drugs, and sex sells

So we try to sound like someone else

This is not Californication

There's no way to glorify this pavement

Syrup, Percocet, and an eighth a day

Will leave you broke, depressed, and emotionally vacant

Despite how Little Wayne lives

It's not conducive to being creative

And I know 'cause he's my favorite

And I know 'cause I was off that same mix

Rationalize the shit that I'd try after I listen to Dedication

But he's an alien

I'd sip that shit, pass out or play PlayStation

Months later I'm in the same place

No music made, feelin' like a failure

And trust me, it's not dope to be twenty-five

And move back to your parents' basement

I've seen my people's dreams die

I've seen what they can be denied

And "weed's not a drug," that's denial

Groundhog Day, life, repeat each time

I've seen Oxycontin take three lives

I grew up with them, we used to chief dimes

I've seen cocaine bring out the demons inside

Cheatin' and lyin'

Friendship cease, no peace in the mind

Stealin' and takin' anything to fix the pieces inside

Broken, hopeless, headed nowhere

Only motivation for what the dealer's supplyin'

That rush, that drug, that dope

Those pills, that crumb, that roach

Thinkin' I would never do that, not that drug

Growing up nobody ever does

Until you're stuck

Lookin' in the mirror like I can't believe what I become

Swore I was gonna be someone

And growin' up everyone always does

We sell our dreams and our potential

To escape through that buzz

Just keep me up, keep me up

Hollywood, here we come🎵♪🎶

Prince Aeric then gave a pause and let the instrumental play for a second before ditching the rap cadence he had before and softly singing into the mic.

🎵♪🎶How long, how long will I slide?

A-separate my side

I don't, I don't believe it's bad

A-slittin' my throat, it's all I ever...🎵♪🎶

Somehow the change in tone and melody did not feel out of place as the lyrics and tone complimented the previous rap, perfectly wrapping it up.

I am not a fan of macklemore, but I believe this song has a good message and fits well with our MC.

As for Kanye... Unlike many people these days, I think Kanye West is outspoken and sometimes says some stuff that comes off as crazy, but I can't bring myself to hate the guy. He's a good father and son, he's funny as hell, and more relateable and down to earth than most celebs.
