Chapter Twelve

Jennie.

"I'm sorry Cara, but I don't like you." Jennie regrets it once the words leave her mouth.

Cara sits there like a bucket of water has been poured over her, is that- tears? She's crying. God Jennie wants to scream at herself, she's such an asshole!

She can't believe she rejected a girl this hot, pretty, sexy, she can't believe she rejected Cara.

She wants to hug her and tell her that she was joking but it's too late, also things are better the way they are now. Cara was too good for a girl like her anyways, she was only going to get hurt if she stayed with her.

Cara wipes her face with the back of her palm and looks up at her.

"I'm sorry." She says.

"No don't apologize" Jennie wants to say, "I should be the one apologizing instead." But she presses her mouth shut.

"I've never been rejected you see, heck I've never even confessed to anyone!" She pauses debating on her next words, "rejection does sure hurt." She says in a low tone but Jennie hears her.

She reaches out for her hair but that's when Cara decides to stand up and she immediately pulls her hand.

"Better get going, don't want to embarrass myself further." And she walks to the door, Jennie follows her without saying anything.

She opens the door for her and Cara gives her a weak smile.

"Thank you for everything Jennie, really thank you." She turns around and leaves and Jennie stands there staring at her hopelessly.

If only she wasn't such an asshole.

"I don't deserve you Cara."
