Chapter 20 – Verses of death

"Enough."

"Enough, enough, enough…. It went way overboard NOW!"

Both Aiden and Nagisa, neither of them backing down charged at each other with intent to kill. But unfortunate for Ego, they crashed themselves at an empty space in front of them, ending their battle abrupt. The space created before them began to come into the vison. It was a transparent black mirror. The mirror surrounded both Aiden and Nagisa trapping them, voiding their movements.

"Y-You, you… are the cause?... ha…ha"

Said Ego with her broken jaws, sitting up herself supporting her back on the bar's counter.

"I should have taken you down first, hehe…."

With her spouting words of regrets on her carelessness, Draven walked toward her without a word, with a bland look. The bland look alone made her swallow her words.

"Hey~…" Said Draven in an intimidating tone as he approached her.

"Hmm… what was it your power again?..."

"Oh yeah, was it mind control with change of our hearts?"

"Hmm…now I desire myself a cocktail." Said Draven as he bend down to face her.

"HAhaa… idiot now I wi—"

"WHAT?! It's not working?"

"Now I desire myself a good night's rest." Said as he stood up.

"Well, I really~ really~ want a bath now."

"It's not WORKING!? WHY? is it all a bluff what he is saying? No, that can't' be." Frightened herself Ego, with Draven's tolerance to her power.

"Did you think, it was my mental fortitude? Haha….~"

"The—?"

"I simply took away your smoke from my brain." Said Draven with a cold look on his eyes.

At that moment Kai entered Ego's oasis with Lunar.

"Kai, you idiot… you took our trump card with you."

Kai hurriedly walked towards Ego not heeding to what Draven was saying.

"WHERE IS HE?!" asked Kai with his loose composure, making Draven to guard up looking at unusually agitated Kai.

"W-wait, How did yo—?"

A butterfly flew out of nowhere and sat on her shoulders, before Ego could finish her sentence, she exploded covering Kai in her blood. Everyone was shocked at the sight they saw. Draven let go of his protective barrier he was holding Nagisa and Aiden. Nagisa still with her sanity walked to them while Aiden began to regain his sanity.

"Kai, don't tell me it's your soun—?" Asked frightened Nagisa looking at blood soaked Kai.

"NO!, IT WAS HI—"

A force completely crushed all of them to their knees. Kai and Draven unaffected by that force, looked up to see the interior sifting from club to a dojo.

With a swift of wind a man draped in yukata stood on top of an arch looking down on them menacingly. He was accompanied with another woman, who even Kai didn't see in Clara's past. Kai stared back, his face covered in Ego's blood, eye's sharp as an eagles'.

With another gust of wind he disappeared along with that unknown woman. The space collapsed and turned into a back alleyway where club's trash is thrown at. All other stood up, loss for words. It was clear for everyone, that man was responsible for Ego's gruesome murder. Draven left in a hurry leaving all others.

"Should we too head back?"

"Ye-yeah that's better."

"Looks like professor had an idea, who that was…"

They all returned back to their campus with an utter failure. Each and every one of them were visibly disappointed with themselves. They all retired to their rooms without a word. Kai, not going back to his house bunked with Aiden.
