Chapter 19 – …and so are we!

"Let's begin"

These words were uttered in such confidence from Ego Proxy's mouth. Her pupils kept moving restlessly not focusing on a single target but all four of them. The tension kept building and it was unsure who is going to make the first move.

"Aghh, for Fuck's sake…"

Hot headed Erina bolt toward her without any forethought.

A bottle of whiskey behind Ego, which was on the display threw itself to Erina's face, making her lose vision temporarily. Her supposedly punch she was aiming at ego landed at nothing. Ego taking it as the chance slipped right in front of Erina, Crouching ready for an uppercut.

"No, you don't…"

Aiden used his dark matter as a rope to drag Erina back, making her evade Ego's uppercut. Ego stood back in a resting position, loosening both her arms and shoulders while her face clearly hinted she was annoyed for missing her punch.

"Woahhh… you saved me ther—"

"Don't charge carelessly."

Aiden's face was distressed. He was so quick to analyze basics of Ego's power level and fighting pattern. He was certain she is an opponent he can defeat but with exerting much more cautiousness toward her. He surveyed her fighting style was unorthodox and similar to Kai's with a single glance.

"NOW!"

Screamed Nagisa sticking a long bar of dark matter to the ground. All four of them jumped to be airborne while ego stood there on puzzlement. The rod generated high volt of electricity breaking the entire tiled ground striking Ego.

Ego was thrown away from the shock of the attack. She was mostly unharmed with light visible bruises on her face and shoulder. The shock waves didn't conduct well enough because of the material of the floor.

"It hurts little girl~. Fucking hurts…"Ego said while wiping off a little blood she bled from mouth.

The ground which Nagisa was standing on became glue like sinking her legs 2 feet below, trapping her. Ego charged at her with a vicious ferocity only to be interrupted by Draven's invisible space shield. Ego became confused at Draven's power not knowing what it was protecting Nagisa.

Aiden weapon hauled a sword with thin blade, resembling the traditional katana, while appearing from behind Ego. He swung the sword aiming at her neck. To avoid her neck getting slashed she sunk herself 4 feet into the ground with Aiden's slash cutting a mere inch from her hair. Ego sunk herself completely and emerged behind the counter of the bar.

"Haha, I misjudged you. You all are extremely good. I think it's about time I show a little interest to exterminate all you INSECTS!"

With saying that with a true devious smile she clapped her hand thrice slowly, it echoed to the entire room.

"Now you won't even be able get close to me."

The floor, the ceiling, the counter, everything in the room started to move like waves. Image similar to when veil is being dropped, but unlike the veil it didn't stop after two seconds. It kept moving corresponding the waves of the ocean.

"HAHA… welcome to my OASIS, INSECTS!!"

The floor punched Draven in his abdomen catching him off guard. The force made Draven's legs go limp making him fell to the grounds to his knees. He coughed blood as he grabbed his stomach and hurled himself on the ground.

"PROFESSOR!" Screamed Aiden from his throat.

He glared at Ego with such intensity that even made Proxy's hair stand up in goosebumps. When she turned to her right Nagisa too glared at her but it was with pure bloodlust. Nagisa's pupils became pure white, her glasses fell onto the ground. Aiden's pupils turned white and his body began to smoke.

With her instinct, she ordered the floor to attack Aiden and roofs to attack Nagisa. They both in a second slashed the tentacle like structure created to stop them. They dashed towards Ego, while slashing these structures created one after another preventing them from reaching Ego. Meanwhile Ego threw a round blade at Erina.

"Get away from there…!"

Screamed Aiden instinctively at Erina. That was another desire for Aiden. Until now Aiden's desire was to defeat ego even when professor was hurt, but now it changed to protecting Erina even if it was for an instant. This made her take control of Aiden.

"Now, now, now… boy. You foolish kid. Don't go falling for me that easily."

"What should I do with you?...hmm? What should I do?..."

"Yes, I got i—"

Before she could finish her sentence Erina punched her on face. The punch completely shattered her jaws and the left side of her skull. Although the punch was landed she had already ordered Aiden to what he must do. Ego let out a small smile with her broken jaws and blood painted face.

Aiden switched his gaze from Ego to Nagisa. He took a stance ready to slash Nagisa in a single go. Nagisa stared back directly into his eyes not backing her foot or her resolve to kill. Aiden let out a sigh with black smoke coming out of his mouth. Nagisa too let out a sigh, the room began to slowly cover itself in clouds infused with thunder.

"Enough." Said Draven in a light voice only he could hear.
