Chapter 29: Welcome to Hueco Mundo!

"What the hell is going on!" Grayson screamed as he was dragged into the shadows by the Gillian and watched as the gap between his current location and the Soul society closed, locking him within and causing the Menos to drag him to his doom.

After that, everything went dark, and Grayson's final memory was of battling the Gillian Menos while falling through the black vortex it had emerged from before being taken along with it and finally waking up here.

"W-Where am I?" Grayson said slowly as he came to, sitting up to take in his environment.

It was dark and Grayson pushed up off of the ground, feeling the sand beneath his hands, causing him to take a look around.

Never-ending white desert, with a multitude of dunes, littered with boulders for as far as the eye could see, with nothing but the moonlight to guide one's vision across the landscape.

"Hey, system. What is this place?" Grayson asked, having no idea where he was.

"This is Hueco Mundo, the world of the Hollows." The system said after a moment

"World of the Hollows!" Grayson said, shooting up to his feet while trying to gather his thoughts.

"That can't be right?" He said, looking down at the ground where he saw his Zanpakuto in the sand.

"Thank goodness, at least I still have you with me," Grayson said, picking it up and dusting it off.

"I guess the only question now is, how do we get back?" He asked, taking another look around, before wondering what had happened to the Menos he had been fighting.

Bonus quest complete. You defeated the Menos Gillian, and you have been awarded 15000 EXP and 2 skill points.

Discover Hueco Mundo, you have been awarded 5000 exp. The system said as it rapid-fired the notifications.

Grayson was shocked he had been had earnt so much EXP for the bonus quest, as well as discovering this place, even if it was by accident.

A strange rumbling sound caught Grayson's attention coming from the sand, causing him to put his guard up before Hollows started to appear from the sand, surrounding him, almost drooling at the smell of his spiritual pressure.

"No time to rest..." Grayson said as he took a stance, using his system to look at the levels of the Hollows, seeing they were only at ten, making them light work for him, even if he was feeling a little tired at the moment.

Grayson didn't play around with them and quickly finished them off one after the other in the blink of an eye.

"There, no problem." He said with a confident smile on his face.

However, more and more Hollows started to appear, seeming to come from almost every direction, surrounding him one by one.

Oh fuck... Grayson thought, knowing that things were not looking good for him now.

Meanwhile, back in the soul society...

3rd seat Gojuro Sezaki and the other surviving Soul reapers had witnessed the whole thing, watching as Grayson had been pulled into the portal with the Menos, only to disappear into the darkness without a trace.

Reinforcements from other squads had now arrived, along with the presence of Captian Aizen and Captian Zaraki, who had been hoping to get a good fight in due to the sighting of a Menos.

"Report, Sezaki." Aizen asked, already seeing that the damage had been grave.

"Yes sir. Myself, 10th seat Iejima Nayasu and 5th Seat Grayson led the charge, holding and successfully pushing back the large number of Hollows that had been able to slip through. However, once the Menos showed up, we quickly became overwhelmed." He said with his head lowered while on one knee.

"So, who the hell defeated the damn thing, and where is he! I wanna fight him for spoiling my fun!" Kenpatchi yelled, holding his sword over his shoulder.

"It was 5th Seat Grayson, sir. None of us stood a chance against it, and if not for him pushing it back we would all be dead." The 3rd seat said with humility.

"And where is he now?" Captain Aizen asked, keeping his arms crossed over his chest with a kind expression on his face.

"I'm afaid that once 5th seat Grayson had pushed the Menos back, it was able to grab a hold of him and pulled him back into the portal it came from." He said, knowing that Grayson was most likely dead.

"Is that so..." Kenpatchi said, guessing the same.

"What a shame, I would have liked to fight that punk before he kicked it." He said, turning his back and walking away, losing all interest in the event and leaving Aizen and the others to clean up.

Aizen sighed before he readjusted his glasses, having heard the full report.

"Momo, I take it I can leave the rest to you." He said, getting a nod from here.

"Yes sir." She said, seeming a little down that Grayson had been lost.

Momo turned around and walked off with Sezaki, taking a look at the damage that the Hollows had done.

"How were so many of them able to get in here without us knowing?" She asked, talking to herself before Sezaki looked at her.

"I asked myself the same question." Sezaki said, snapping her out of it.

"Very well, lets get this mess sorted out. I want the full written report on my desk by the night." She said, barking orders and taking command.

Captain Aizen left the area and returned to his office, taking his time while he strolled in the afternoon sun light.

"What a shame, I hear your new 5th seat was killed taking out a Menos." A familiar voice said, coming from behind him.

"I wouldn't say that," Aizen said, knowing who it was already.

"Gin..." Aizen said, not turning around to face him.

"My... I wonder, what do you have in store for that one?" Gin asked while he placed his hands on his hips.

"For now nothing. All will be revealed if he returns." Aizen said before he walked off, not caring to go into any more detail as he left Gin with a smile on his face.

With that Aizen returned to his office and took a seat on his chair before he placed his hands onto the desk.

"Now, how will you handle things on that end, Grayson?" Aizen said with a calculated smile on his face before he took his glasses off and put them down, leaning back into his seat.

Time for Grayson had been going by rather slowly. He should have thought about this from the start really, seeing that he now found himself in the world of the Hollows.

Grayson had found himself surrounded on all sides by every manner of Hollow one could imagine, being forced to fight them off over and over again.

"There is no end to them!' Grayson yelled as he sliced through another one before spinning around and blocking another advance, halting its pincer-like blades on its arms with his Zanpakuto.

"Damn it!" Grayson yelled, kicking the Hollow away from him, giving him a little room for a second as the others surrounded him, not caring for their own lives as they charged in one at a time, each trying to get their claws on his soul.

"Hadō #11. Tsuzuri Raiden!" Grayson shouted, slapping his hand onto the ground and letting his spiritual energy flow out.

The electricity sprang out across the sand and hit all of the Hollows within range, giving Grayson a little more time before more could get close enough to replace the ones he had killed.

"System, we need to do something about these Hollows, otherwise I'm going to run out of gas well before we run out of Hollows.

"I'm working on it." The system said, scanning the area while Grayson ran across the sand, slicing Hollow after Hollow down while they chased him.

as Grayson ran further and further he could make out what looked like some sort of forest coming into view in the distance.

"What about that?" Grayson yelled, stopping another attack from a flying Hollow that looked like some sort of bat.

"I'm scanning the area... I can detect some very powerful spiritual pressures coming from that area." The system said, alerting Grayson to the dangers.

Great... Now what am I going to do? Grayson thought as he watched the flying Hollow come back around for another attack.

"Bakudō #4 Hainawa!" Grayson yelled, having an idea as he shot the Bakudō spell, watching as the yellow energy rope wrapped around the Hollow, trapping it.

"Here, have this!" Grayson yelled, spinning the Hollow around and using it as a bowling ball to knock the other Hollows through the air, making it crash into them and send them flying like a rag doll before he let go and watched it sail off and crash into the ground.

Grayson could also see the EXP notification pop up in the corner of his vision, seeing that he had killed so many Hollows the notifications didn't fit in the text screen anymore.

At least I'm getting something for all of this. Grayson thought while he watched the Hollows surround him again.

But seriously... If I don't find a way to hide and rest I'm a goner... He muttered to himself, knowing it was only a matter of time until he ran out of steam, quickly looking at his stats.

Grayson was only able to get a quick look but could see that he had levelled up, and also had some strange bonus thing at the bottom of his display with ?'s on it.

However, his concentration was soon snatched away as he was forced to fight more Hollows, seeing that he was now surrounded by at least 100 of them, knowing he had only one option left.

"I can't afford to mess around anymore! Distort, Jūryoku no Megami!" Grayson yelled, letting his Zanpakuto release and reveal his Shikai.

Suddenly all of the Hollows around him dropped to the ground, being crushed by the invisible force that had overcome them.

Grayson had started with only ten times gravity to subdue the Hollows, seeing that none of them could withstand the pressure.

Grayson turned his sword upside down with one hand and let his spiritual pressure flow into the blade, making the red orb in the middle of the hilt spin faster.

"Crush them. Jūryoku no Megami." Grayson said, turning the gravity up to two times what it was, increasing the pressure on the Hollows by up to 20x that of normal, crushing all of them at once.

Grayson took a look around, finally noticing that he was alone and not surrounded.

"Did we kill them all?" He asked, letting his Reiatsu calm down as he returned his Zanpakuto to normal.

I cannot detect any spiritual pressure without 500 meters. The system suddenly said, putting his mind at ease.

Well, that's a relief... Grayson thought before he dropped onto his butt to take a rest.

"I guess the only thing left to do now is to try and figure a way out of here," Grayson said while looking up at the moon, knowing that it was going to be a long night trapped in this place.
