Blacksmith's Exploration of New Heaven(MMORPG)

A tale of a newly broke gambler who finds himself immersed in a world-wide phenomenon of the New MMORPG that's ground breaking for its time. With solid leveling and explanations this novels goal is to satisfy that itch for a good adventure story while having deep plot. My main focus is on making the systems fluid and solid for future world building. The Blacksmith and other supplementary systems are well thought out and should bring a few surprises along the way.

Chapter 4: City of Strata

"Zap"

As he opened his eyes Broken Fire was standing in the middle of a massive teleportation circle with runes all around and 4 mages, all in blue, constantly chanting gibberish.

Once in Broken Fire walked out of the teleportation chamber he looked around at all the people and shops.

How realistic the game looked shocked Broken Fire and it made him bubble up with excitement for the future,

Most of the people he saw he assumed were NPC's(Non playable Characters) but some Characters stood out as unique, as they were just standing around and running around like wild gooses.

When you selected a class you got common White gear for your class that had a minusculely small buff to whatever your class was or ability. For the blacksmith Class he noticed his gear as a set gave him the ability gave him a 1% chance to succeed forging something automatically. His only other ability was a innate ability he got from the Blacksmith class was Forging, which does what it sounds like, allows a blacksmith to forge.

After Admiring all the people he looked around at the shops, NPC's selling goods; Fish, Food, and common supplies for adventuring. He noticed that all the NPC's selling goods did not have a designated class, therefore being a common NPC. They were all Level 1 like him and had general information displayed out to him.

Broken Fire thought to himself that the God Asphea must have a amazingly unique class. Also maybe a beauty class or something.

When walking around there were occasionally giant banners above a building with a symbol which Broken Fire connected to the Class symbols he saw when picking his class.

After walking all over the massive City of Strata he finally found the banner for the Class Blacksmith.

Walking into the Blacksmith Class building he saw only 1 person in the whole room and he was forging a item that looked like at the moment just a big hot red ingot.

Broken Fire walked up to the massive man and just watched him forge the item to get more incite into the class he chose.

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

Clang!

The man pounded the ingot into the shape of a conventional longsword. Every pound of his hammer shaped the sword into a more refined and complete sword.

Broken Fire observed and noticed that he could not see the Level, Name, or Class of the person forging the weapon, while most NPC's he could see the Class and Level of the NPC before being introduced.

While the man was forging the sword Broken fire saw a bar for completion and rating on the sword

10%

50%

100%

The Completion rating went up as he watched and the second bar went from rating went from Okay to Good to Excellent. Stopping at Excellent.

Once completed the man took the sword and wrapped a hilt around the bottom of the sword for ascetics and to sell later on.

Broken Fire noticed as he looked at the Sword that it was classified as a Green Longsword.

"Ho ho ho, a new candidate" said the man,

"I am a humble Blacksmith, Friends can call me Harry."

As soon as Harry said that Broken Fire's window updated his name to Harry and class to Blacksmith. The level was updated then to level 20.

"May I get your name adventure" said Harry.

"Its Broken Fire" said Gruv

"Ho ho ho, all great adventuring blacksmiths have fire or flame in there name

I am looking forward to what you shall do.

I give you a task to make a Common Longsword with similar abilities to this sword"

Harry lifts up the sword and observing it Broken Fire can see that its ability was Great Slash, a attack move that did 160 damage and had a cooldown of 10 seconds.

In this realistic game if you had no attack abilities, you can do a standard attack which is your level number times a random number generated for 1-10 as damage to your enemy. However most attacks would be from gear and special abilities gained from classes.

When Harry asked to make a longsword a quest prompt popped in front of Broken Fire's eyes which said:

Quest Giver: Harry

Task: Forge a White graded longsword with the ability Great Slash(Attempts:3)

Reward: 1 Level, Forge Hammer, ???.

Failure: Kicked out of the Class Building, Go on your way you scrub!

(Accept, Deny)

Of course Broken Fire accepted the quest.

Once accepted Broken Fire asked Harry politely to borrow a simple hammer and some materials to get started on forging.

Once Harry handed over the material Broken Fire started forging.

Hammering the metal on the anvil to try and look like a longsword, with the help of the system from the game it had 2 bars with percent complete and quality.

As Broken Fire was hammering away at the anvil,

Harry narrated:

"The way to get abilities is completely random and luck is involved in making certain abilities appear.

There is always exceptions with materials giving specific abilities to weapons and also poor materials ruining abilities.

Abilities are classified as the quality of the Ability when forged, Special Ability(Abilities on a person/monster), and Unique abilities(Abilities on gear from Chests made by the world).

This line of work is tedious and hard to master. Once you hit level 10 people will be able to make Uncommon equipment, Level 30 you will be able to make Epic equipment, Level 50 is when Semi-Legendary Equipment is possible to forge, Level 70 is when it is theoretically possible to forge legendary Equipment, and Level 90 is the the tier of God equipment.

Now it is possible to forge equipment at the lowest required level in that tier but the higher level you are in the tier the higher the chances of successful forging said equipment tier and how fast you can forge your equipment differs.

The faster you forge the equipment the more chance for success but lower quality of the ability usually. It is a balance beam. Of course you also need the materials to forge the tier of equipment to match.

A epic equipment cant be forged with just some common steel, however there is a chance like how you saw me forge the longsword where it should be common equipment but I made it uncommon, this is to do with a little bit of luck and the quality of ingredients.

I used a uncommon Iron Ingot to craft the sword but I was trying to craft a common tier gear. Sometimes when using higher tier materials it would luckily go to the next tier. This is easier to make because you are making a lower tier gear than you are capable of but using a God materials with some Legendary materials to try and forge a Godly Item is just a fools gamble.

With your level there is also how well you forged the equipment, in this profession its called quality of the gear being forged. Higher quality of items is how good the ability is on said item, but the same ability can also be on different tiers which affects the effectiveness of it. The quality varies on how focused you are, how experienced you are, and a little bit of luck.

If you don't complete the item to 100% from getting tired or otherwise the item will break and crack in many different ways making it weaker than truly complete items, but in most cases will trash the item so that it cant be used, in other words scrap metal.

Getting Scrap Metal is more common with making items from Scratch with no design.

Classes , Abilities, and god forsaken stuff can change this but this is the ropes of forging.

The reasons for limitations to forging is that the world does not want forgers to make gear above their capabilities to wear and make it difficult to equip everyone with abilities."

Clang!(1%,Okay)

Clang!(10%,Okay)

Clang!(50%,Good)

Broken Fire was hammering and listening to Harry attentively.

The shape of the iron was getting closer and closer to a longsword,

Hammering away at the anvil at 55% his gear ability with the 1% chance activate rate randomly activated where the sword automatically finished.

The sword was good quality, the 2nd lowest quality sword you could make.

(White) Longsword:

Good Ability: Fast Slash(Improves speed of sword by 5%)

Any time forging something the forger can always put there name on the weapon, name the weapon, or brand it with something but most times with (White)regular items no one marked them.

Looking at the sword Broken Fire was happy that his ability happened because its a 1% chance once the forging started, so it was not 1% chance every time a percentage went up, it was 1% at the start of forging to randomly at any percent to finish the work.

However Broken Fire was disappointed because he had 2 more attempts to get the rewards.

If he didn't complete it he would get nothing and get kicked out.

Given by: Harry

Task: Forge a White graded longsword with the ability Great Slash(Attempts:2)

Reward: 1 Level, Forge Hammer, ???.

Failure: Kicked out of the Class Building, Go on your way you scrub!

Calming himself down he looked at the time on the system interface and it was 2am in the real world, the time was 1:1 in game and in the real world.

On to the next try.

Grabbing the Iron ingot and putting it on the common looking anvil,

Clang!(10%, Okay)

Clang!(50%, Good )

Clang!(100%, Excellent)

Finishing Broken Fire observed his newly created Sword.

(White)Longsword:

Excellent Ability: Lesser Stab(Blunt Stab doing 20% of your max health, Cooldown 24hr)

"Ho ho ho, Decent Swords so far but not what you want! One more try little adventurer" said Harry.
