Free Time

Julian POV:

After reaching a satisfactory level, I took a break to relax and spend some time with Secre.

I had completed a lot of missions in the past few months which contained some top-tier difficult missions so I can extend my break to as long as I want.

Kirin had taken a short vacation too and promised that he would return in a week. I was not worried about him, as he had enough speed to escape any situation and with my link to him, I could track him down to almost any location.

During this time, I visited some places with Secre that I never got the chance to explore like the amusement park and ice cream land.

Asta and Noelle continuously pestered me so I took them too while I and Secre enjoyed ourselves separately.

There are still some places that I still wish to visit.

With my current rank, I now had access to the artifact Museum.

It contained artifacts that were considered dead or unusable.

The artifacts present there are mostly excavated from ruins of ancient civilizations that were found underground.

People could also donate artifacts in exchange for money.

I wanted to see if there was something left behind from the Ragnvindr Clan.

Today was one such day where everything seemed peaceful.

That is when Finral approached me asking me if I wanted to go to a mixer with him.

Finral's eyes met with Secre making him realize that it was a bad idea to ask me.

I had something else to do so I would have refused them anyways.

Surprisingly he somehow managed to convince Asta and Luck to go with him, the worst people to take to an event like the mixer.

Asta could somewhat understand other people's romantic advances but had no idea how to respond to them.

As for Luck, forget about romantic, and could not even properly understand other people's normal emotions properly.

As Asta agreed to go with Finral, Noelle's face showed a multitude of expressions.

It was crystal clear as to what she was thinking.

I didn't comment anything as she would lash out at me.

That was the last thing I wanted in my peaceful morning.

In the evening I and Secre set out for the capital to enjoy ourselves.

This was our sixth proper date after getting into a relationship.

We visited some fast food stalls as I liked to try different dishes, and clothes shops as Secre had not taken a fascination with clothes. Still, her attire mostly contained black or dark-colored clothes.

I was walking the streets without my uniform but still, people recognized me and thanked me for saving them.

Some called me a hero while some children were amazed and wanted to fight a dragon like me too.

There were some rumors that I even had a fan club but I don't know if that is true or not.

I walked towards the place where all sorts of restaurants were present and entered one of them and directly went to the third floor.

There were only a handful of people on this floor as it required reservation.

I handed the receptionist a token as a sign of reservation and took my seat where three people were already present.

"It's been a while Lucis, Olivia, Leopold."

All three of them were in casual attires and surprisingly not in disguise.

"Look who it is! Capital's hero, Incarnation of the first wizard king, the dragon Slayer Great Julian !!" Lucis said in a dramatic tone.

Olivia burst out laughing while Secre had a proud smile hearing all of it.

"Who is that beside you? A new member?" Leopold asked.

"Meet Secre..my girlfriend " I replied.

Hearing this Leopold and Lucis had a reaction as if their eyes would pop out of their sockets while Olivia covered her mouth with shock.

"Are you real? Not a spell right ?" Olivia asked looking at Secre.

"Of course, she is real! what even is that question?"

"It feels unreal…..

I thought you were interested in men since you never showed any interest in any women" Leopold said.

"You don't get to say that! You are the only one who is single among us " I replied.

"Now now, stop arguing….let's have a peaceful chat, " Lucis said still trying to hold back laughter.

I properly introduced Secre as an old friend who recently joined the Black Bulls. I told them some stories about my adventures which three of them were greatly amazed at.

Olivia was very eager to meet with Kirin since she was there during the mission on the secluded island. Kirin was still enjoying his vacation so Olivia and could not meet him today.

"What happened to you Lucis? it feels like you didn't sleep for days" I asked.

"For the past few weeks, I have been made to do missions like anything...as if Wizard King takes please seeing me suffer.

Sometimes I wonder if I just acted as the Prince of the Kingdom and enjoyed my life ordering people as my idiot father" Lucis replied.

"I would have never liked you if you acted like that," Olivia said.

"I know, I would have hated that version of me too…..

As for you Loepold, why do look exhausted too? Didn't your brother wake up some time ago?" Lucis asked.

Just like Lucis, Leopold had dark circles under his eyes. His cheerful personality was replaced with a strange calmness.

"While my brother was asleep, I had to take the position of temporary captain as Vice-captain dumped it on me.

Even after my brother woke up, the only thing he does is train and leave me to handle his mountain of paperwork. " Leopold said.

"My sister came to visit once but left after laughing at my condition. "

'Well totally sounds like something Mereolona would do'. I thought.

"Both of my siblings wanted to meet you but I heard that you were on a mission," Leopold said to me.

"Just tell me when your brother is free, and I will meet him. As for your sister, I will meet her if I go to grand magic zone. "

We had a small talk that caught up with our lives and overhaul had a good time.

Leopold learned I was going to visit the artifact museum and decided to tag along as Fuegoleon had handed him an artifact to submit to the museum.

After having our food and sharing the bill we decided to take a walk under the night sky.

Lucis had to drop Olivia at her house so he left early.

" Looks like you became quite famous after your display in the incident…don't know when I will become famous, " Leopold said.

"Just keep doing what you are doing and you can become famous surely."

We decided to go to the museum two days later and made appropriate plans.

"Okay then, see you later!"

" Good night "

I decided to check on Finral and the others and as expected Finral and Luck miserably failed at impressing girls.

I saw Asta run away from the pub holding Rebecca's hand with Noelle following her from behind throwing her waitress apron to the manager with a bag of money for the damage.

Well, at least she paid for it.

"What is she even doing," Secre said facepalming.

I sighed and followed them and stood beside Noelle.

" How did you people mess up so bad, " I asked.

She yelped in surprise as she didn't sense me coming.

" If you are wondering about that girl, she is Rebecca.

She runs a busy restaurant with her siblings around her. They must have found a common topic to talk about. "

" She seems pretty nice….if you don't do anything soon, she might steal Asta away, " I said with a slight grin.

" W-what are you talking about?! It's not that I care about him or anything .. it's just ..just " Noelle stammered.

" I get it, now stop being a tsundere and call him back. We have to get back to the base "

" You....!!!"

After her little outburst, Noelle called back Asta.

We walked for some time as Asta told us what happened in the mixer till we found the other two. Luck and Finral were in an ice cream parlor eating ice cream with the latter having a disappointed face.

I knew it didn't affect Luck in any way he has no clue about relationships.

"Why are you making that face for Finral?

You already know the outcome so there is nothing new about it" Noelle said making Finral even more hurt.

"Where did the two of you go?" Asta asked.

"I had some people to catch up with"

With nothing else to do, we returned back to the base after buying ice cream with everyone.
