Fateful Encounter
"Did I offend you in any form ,Mr. Yami " I asked appearing as polite as possible .
"Seems like you know me brat " he said with a stoic face .
"To be able handle my presence and not faint, moreover mana equal to nobles ,I knew you are not a normal kid . You are too skilled ,tell me kid are you a spy from other kingdom" he said pointing his sword towards me .
I knew that he could tell if I lied with his KI not that I had any reason to lie to him . His suspicion is reasonable as no noble in right mind would come near this place . As I didn't learn how to hide my mana , the mana released from my body is no less than a noble .
I told him my identity and explained my purpose of joining the hunters guild. " HaHa you are student of that old hag you should have told earlier , what's why your style of swinging weapon is familiar . I took money form her once and not returned yet ,don't remind her or the result will be bad for you !! ".
What do you mean by didn't tell earlier , he didn't even ask who I was before attacking!! I cursed in my mind.
" Don't blame me for attacking you kid , I may be irresponsible but still have to do my job.". That's fine but what are you doing here anyways ,I asked .
" I used up all my allowance paying for the damage my squad caused ", he said with a shameless smile.
"Say kid how about joining me in hunting ,I get bored alone I will get someone to talk to". Refusing this man was another set of trouble. So I was agreed more over I would get to learn from him .

We spent the next 6 weeks hunting around the forsaken realm . He made me fight most of the time and only intervened when I took to long . In the following missions I tried but didn't manage to learn anything new from him , he only used simple attacks and didn't even use his magic .
I learned that sometimes magic knights investigate about suspicious individuals from small organizations like this one . If they want survive they have to agree to the terms , so Yami got my report and followed my hunting record before finally confronting me .
Travelling with him was a bad idea . He kept on telling me different styles of pooping and complaining about different bunch of people . One day we had to hunt a species a species capable of flight ,he grabbed me by my head and straight up threw me up at the beast shouting "surpass your limits!!" without any kind of remorse. I kept thinking how much free time this man had. He told me about his squad and he wanted all of his squad members as outlaws with unique kind of magic. Currently he has 5 members Charmy the cook ,Luck with personality problem ,Magna the delinquent ,Gordon the whisperer and Finral the person with zero self-confidence .I was surprised to know that vanessa had has not joined yet . Luck and Magna had joined him in this year's magic knights examination .
He once offered me to join his squad but didn't force me as I didn't have a grimoire yet . Fair enough ,even though captain can invite anyone in the team ,some rules are to be followed like age and grimoire .
I lessened the hunting for two months . I explored some region of common realm , solved some pickpockets who tried to rob me ,brought new cloths etc. and didn't forget to pay a visit to Rebecca's restaurant . She was one of the regular visitors of the church with her siblings . The restaurant was always full of people and the quality was good. I visited all kind of stalls from selling weapons to armors and weak elixirs .
I brought different kinds of books on History ,Geography and magical beasts. I read in geography that The Diamond kingdom is mostly wasteland with lots of mines but lack greenery . Heart kingdom is mostly covered in forest and people build houses among them without cutting down trees . Spade kingdom is the furthest and covered by snow all the time. In history elves were mentioned as evil beings who threatened to destroy humanity and the giant demon skull belonged to the leader ,well they actually were correct about the latter part.
There was nothing mentioned about dwarves , Charmy was a half dwarf so the dwarves must be hiding somewhere. The royalty was glorified in almost every history book.
In my free time I played with the kids in the church or practiced archery with forming bow and arrow with mana ,I never forgot to send letters regularly to Hage village .All my techniques had reached a bottleneck so I searched for new techniques and finally got a chance for improvement .I met Yami when I returned to the guild and he approached me with greedy eyes . I knew trouble was coming to me when he made that face.
