Chapter 20

"Uh, baby... you are my sweetest woman." Obsen complimented Alexa by giving her a short kiss on her luscious lips.

--

Obsen and Alexa were already such a shameless couple. The two of them were still engaged in a hot kiss. Even his stout fingers almost squeezed her pink shoots of blushing.

"Shittttt," Darren cursed over and over. Not only was Darren annoyed, but Borneo also felt the same way.

"Disgusting!" Borneo hissed. After that, he looked at Darren with a look that conveyed discomfort.

"Shall we move over there, Mr Gilbert?"

Without reducing the respect, Darren immediately rejected it subtly. "It's getting late. I must return soon. Thank you for the invitation, Mr Borneo." He said, combined with a warm welcome.

"You are welcome. Thank you for taking the time to attend to my invitation, Mr Gilbert."

Before leaving there, Darren glanced at the shameless lovebirds. "You're disgusting!" He cursed along with the footsteps leaving the party room.

Seeing the arrival of his master, Dante rushed to open the car door. "Please, sir."

"Go!" Darren ordered.

"Alright, sir." Dante simultaneously drove the car at high speed through the centre of London.

Whether this was real or just Dante's feelings, it was clear that his master's face had a different expression. He repeatedly glanced at his master through the car window. He wanted to say something, but he held his intention.

One thing was now lodged in his mind. He did not want to provoke his master's emotions. His eyes repeatedly stole glances through the car window.

"What's wrong?" Darren asked without taking his eyes off the laptop screen.

"Nothing, sir."

"Speed up!"

"Alright, sir."

Now, the car sped up so fast that it made a screeching sound. "Focus on driving! I don't want to die young because of your carelessness." Darren snapped while still focusing his gaze on the laptop screen.

'Mr Gilbert is already like a psychic. Can't see but can tell.' Dante muttered in his heart.

Not wanting to provoke the anger of his master, Dante's gaze looked straight ahead, focused on the road. Meanwhile, Darren spoiled his eyes with his ex-fiancé's photos.

The feeling of tightness immediately engulfed him. Even swallowing every breath was like swallowing snake venom.

"I should be the one standing by your side, baby." He muttered to himself while rubbing his ex's photo in the past.

"And this despicable man should be..." Darren purposely paused by clenching his fists until his knuckles turned white.

His jaw immediately hardened, his face tightened, and his eyes turned bright. "Pull the car over!" The sound of chattering teeth accompanied his order.

Unfortunately, Dante seemed not to hear, so he drove at high speed.

Angry, that was one word that described how Darren was feeling right now. "Are your ears deaf, huh? PULL THE CAR OVER! You idiot!" He shouted until the sound of his screams was deafening.

Dante's body shivered violently. He immediately put the car aside. "I'm sorry, sir." He whispered with a bow.

"Where is the car key?!"

"Here, sir." Dante handed it to Darren's hand.

Before sinking into the Bugatti Veyron, Darren's eyes glanced briefly. "Enough?"

Dante immediately raised his face so that he met a pair of blue eyes that rained down on him with full sharpness. "What is this money for, sir?"

The corners of Darren's lips were firmly lifted upwards. "Taxi fare."

Dante had not yet time to thank you and tell him that Austin Matthew Bholthon was at the mansion, but the Bugatti Veyron was already driving at high speed, carrying its master away.

Without direction and purpose, Darren drove his beloved car at high speed around the centre of London. Maybe some people would think that Darren Ewald Gilbert, the billionaire, was crazy. However, he did not care about their opinions. He kept driving his favourite car without any intention of stopping or returning.

He clenched his hands tightly on the steering wheel until his knuckles turned white. His gaze was fixed on something up ahead as if there was an enemy ready to throw him into Hell.

"Arrgghh," he screamed in frustration. A harrowing past has made him unable to think clearly. Even the wound that had not yet dried up was re-emerging to the surface.

With full force pressing the gas pedal, the car accelerated out of control. At the same time, his blue eyes closed so that his visible was dark, as dark as the atmosphere around him at the moment. The corners of his eyes repeatedly looked around, but it was still dark. There was absolutely no light.

"Where is this? Why is everything so dark?" He asked himself because he was alone in that strange place.

Silence, desolate, gripping, immediately plunged him into fear until his stout body shivered violently. His muscular body used to dominate with high arrogance was powerless. Falling down to melting into ashes was the most accurate description of how Darren was currently.

"Where is this?" He asked again in a trembling voice.

"Please, give me a hint, even if it's only 1%." He asked no one because there was no one here.

Someone dimly called out from a distance. "Who's there?" Darren turned his head, but there was nothing but darkness.

Not long after, the voice came back into his ears. A familiar voice that tormented his soul into the void. "Mom… is that you, mom?" He whispered.

Slowly but surely, he turned his face back. Immediately, the glare greeted him, so he swung one hand.

From a distance, a white cloud seemed to be approaching. The longer it formed, the shadow of the person he had missed the most, his beloved mother, showed up.

"What are you doing here? Go home!"

"Is that you, mom?" He asked in a trembling voice.

"Go home! You don't belong here."

Darren did not heed his mother's order. He directly tried to run to hug his mom but was immediately pushed very hard. At the same time, his heartbeat has returned.

"Doc, the patient's heartbeat is running again," said the nurse.

The doctor smiled happily. "Thank you for your wonderful miracle, God."

After that, he cast his gaze towards the nurse.  "Transfer the patient to the treatment room immediately!"

"Okay, doc,"

Meanwhile, in front of the operating room, Austin was waiting, accompanied by Kenzie and, of course, Dante.

"How could Mr Gilbert have such a terrible accident, huh?" Austin snapped while glaring.

"I'm sorry, sir. At that time, Mr Gilbert had just returned from Mr Borneo's event and insisted on driving the car." Dante replied.

"You should have made sure that-" Austin's sentence was cut when the door opened to reveal the doctor.

Austin rushed over. "How is Mr Gilbert?"

"Mr Gilbert is not conscious yet. However, you don't need to worry. He has passed a critical period and will soon be transferred to the infirmary. Excuse me."
