The whole incident seemed to be enough to teach Trisha and her mother the importance of time, to cherish what they had.

One day, Paula caught Dave cheating, the next few days he's suggesting a divorce, the next the divorce goes through, and the next thing, they found out Dave had transferred all the properties to his name.

Now, when they were at their lowest, after all the bad publicity, they were even expected to start moving.

What if Trisha hadn't transferred the first house they occupied in her name? what if there weren't some other properties in Trisha's name?

Dave would have taken everything, all the property that he had no idea how they were incurred, or how hard the owner had to work for them.

Practically, they were left with nothing. How were they to continue their lives like nothing happened, like they hadn't been stripped of everything.

Most especially Paula, how would she not feel stupid, used…?

How would she not feel that she had let her first love, her soulmate, her beloved, how would she feel that she hadn't let him down.

Coincidentally, it was around the time Paula's first husband and Trisha's father got into a car accident and passed on.

….

The little mission the girls had planned was successfully executed. They managed to take her phone away and cheer her up, even if it was for a short period of time.

PAULA'S POV;

My thoughts have been in disarray for quite some time now.

Everything felt … overwhelming!

To think I had shared a home with this man all this time, and I couldn't see or sense his intentions!

It made me feel very bad, it makes me feel like I let him down. Will he ever forgive me!

Sleep wasn't an option, I had stayed up for quite a while now, yesterday too. I just couldn't sleep.

I suddenly heard the knocks outside.

The girls came in shortly after, they cooked and literally forced me to eat such a large amount of food.

They came back after they went out with the plates. They probably went to do the dishes, leaving me in my room.

It took me a great deal to will my thoughts away from Dave and how stupid I felt.

The girls promised to be back, and they did just that.

They stayed, we watched a movie and we had snacks to go with it.

The movie did a good job to crack me up. Kevin Hart just knows how to crack me up.

Sighing, Trisha started, her eyes scanning every inch of my room

"That could have been the last movie we would ever watch in this house!"

"I cant believe we have to move!", I added.

"Where do we even go!", Trisha asked after a few minutes of silence.

"What, seriously? You didn't consider our place. What!?", Elle suddenly burst out, obviously annoyed.

"We don't want to impose honey, maybe we can find somewhere to rent!", I said.

"Mom said I should make sure you come over so you're comfortable, she made it my mission!", Elle said, referring to her mom.

"She really did!?"

"Yes, and dad doesn't mind. That way we won't be worried about where you are or if you're safe!", Elle said.

"Okay honey, we'll stay there till we find something more permanent!".

"Why don't we go over to my place, let's have dinner. Maybe you could pick your rooms after that!", Elle suggested.

"Alright, I'll freshen up then!"

We agreed to spend the night over at their place, I guess we could use some sort of distraction.

As I stood up, arranging the blinds after I did, I couldn't help but notice the calendar by my bed side.

Right, his death anniversary. My first husband's death anniversary.

A sad smile creeped on my face as I suddenly felt nostalgic, that night was something I didn't like to remember because I lived in disbelief several months after the accident.

I still don't believe I have ever gotten over his death, how could I ever?

He left so abruptly I never even got the chance to say goodbye, I didn't even hear his final words.

I hope he forgives me, I hope he forgives the fact that I willingly gave away everything he had worked for.

Sighing yet again, I cleaned the several streaks of tears that had formed on my face before I turned to enter the bathroom, after all the girls and I had planned out our evening.

AUTHOR'S NOTE;

HI GUYS, TO BE VERY HONEST, I THINK I PREFER WRITING IN THE CHARACTER'S POV. BUT, I WILL BE INTERCHANGING THAT WITH THE AUTHOR'S POV.

I MIGHT EXPLAIN PAULA'S RELATIONSHIP WITH HER FIRST HUSBAND IN THE NEXT CHAPTER OR THE NEXT FEW CHAPTERS.

DON'T FORGET FO SUPPORT THE BOOK GUYS!❤️
