Chapter 91 - The Avengers Part 2

POV: Baldur

Stuttgart, Germany

After the meeting with Steve. 2012.

The first thing I did after leaving Steve's apartment was to go to Germany. This city is the only place where one can obtain Iridium. Loki needs the eyes of one of the participants in this event to get the main element for opening the portal.

From a location further away from the party, I see several people in suits and beautiful dresses entering the event that is taking place, the same place where Loki will create his distraction and allow himself to be captured.

(I must say, they did a great job rebuilding the city.)

During the Second World War, I ordered my army to destroy all the cities they passed through, one of them was this one. Even after many years, it is still recovering, but many of its buildings with hundreds of years of history were lost.

"Do you believe he will be here personally?"

Next to me, looking down, is Amora. She joined me a short time ago.

"You know how he is, his love for tricks and manipulations is only surpassed by his love for drawing attention. It won't be long before he appears, putting on a great show."

"If you say so."

We stayed silent for an hour waiting for Loki, then I ask,

"Since we're waiting, why don't you tell me what's making you so uneasy?"

For a few years now, I've noticed that Amora is strange. Sometimes I think she's hiding something from me, but I didn't force her to tell me. I'm waiting for her to reveal her secret, but lately, this has gotten worse, and I finally couldn't resist and asked.

Amora lowered her head and didn't respond immediately.

"I…"

Just as she was about to speak, a crowd ran out of the event. They all spread out through the streets, running and screaming hysterically.

"We'll talk later," Amora says to me, taking the opportunity to change the subject.

Shortly after, Loki leaves the event location wearing his golden armor and helmet with large horns. He was carrying the scepter where the mind stone was. He walked calmly down the street, delighting in the panic of the mortals.

"See. He loves doing this," I say, smiling at Amora.

Loki then destroyed a police car that came in his direction when he crossed the street. He created several illusions surrounding a large number of people, not giving them room to escape.

"Kneel before me!"

Loki shouted at everyone, and when they didn't obey, he made his scepter shine and shouted once more.

"Kneel, NOW!"

In fear, several people began to kneel, and then they were all kneeling on the ground.

"See. Isn't this simpler? Isn't this your natural state?"

Loki began to walk among the people while delivering his beautiful speech.

(Come to think of it, Steve should be on his way by now. Maybe he's late because of my visit. It seems like I'll have to show myself earlier than I thought.)

"This is the unspoken truth of humanity, you yearn for submission."

Loki continues.

"This is ridiculous, not a single mortal even tried to fight, or even die with dignity."

Amora speaks to the scene in front of her.

"Where there are those without the courage to fight, there is always one who stands up. Look."

While we were talking, Loki finished his beautiful speech and to his surprise, an elder stood up against him and spoke.

"I will not kneel to men like you!"

"There are no men like me." He says in his great arrogance.

"There will always be men like you." The old man spoke.

You didn't have to be a genius to realize what Loki was going to do. As Steve was late, it was my time to enter the scene.

"Amora, please protect the people."

Passing my request, I go to Loki as quickly as possible.

"Look at your elder, people, let him be an example."

Loki fires his scepter at the elder, but I get in front of him just in time, creating a shield of light that defends him. When I make the shield disappear, Loki can finally look at who interrupted him.

"It's been a while since we've seen each other, brother. I'm glad you're well, but I must say, I'm a little disappointed with your actions." I say.

Loki looks at me smiling, he walks towards me, crossing the people still paralyzed with fear on their knees.

"I was wondering who would appear, I am honored to be in the presence of the mighty King Baldur."

Loki bowed, mocking me, and when he stood up, he pointed his scepter at me and fired, this time with full power. I couldn't defend myself from this without the humans around getting hurt, but then I see that an energy barrier began to envelop all the people around me, protecting them. So before the shot hit me, I create another shield using my light manipulation to defend myself.

The people finally woke up and started running, and the energy field began to expand, turning into a dome leaving Loki and me alone.

Then Amora appeared outside the barrier with her staff ready to help me capture Loki.

"I'm not surprised that the witch is here too, she always follows her master very well."

Loki speaks, probably trying to make me lose my patience.

"I've known you since you were little, Loki, these tricks won't work on me."

"They would work on Thor."

"Thor is a hot-headed idiot."

"I agree with that."

Suddenly, Loki disappears from in front of me and appears behind me, trying to thrust the blade of his scepter into my back. I spin my body and hit Sigel on his scepter, making him take a few steps back. The difference in strength is quite clear.

"What do you hope to achieve with these senseless actions, Loki?"

I ask while dodging the various clones that were attacking me from all directions.

"I'm just trying to conquer what is rightfully mine," he responds.

In all his attacks, Loki tried not to kill me, but he hits me with his scepter, perhaps trying to find a chance to control me. It would work if I didn't know about this information. I was holding back so as not to accidentally explode my brother, but it's time to end this.

I emit a great golden glow with a high degree of temperature, destroying all of Loki's illusions around me. I see the real him by my side, ready to hit my leg. I dodge and spin Sigel, hitting his face with the handle of it, and then I trip him, making him fall to the ground. He tries to get up, but I put the blade of my spear on his neck.

"Don't move."

Loki doesn't seem surprised, in fact, he was smiling.

"You know, brother, you should diversify your attacks more. You've used the same trick before."

The smiling Loki who was on the ground then disappears. I lift my head looking for him, I see a blast of blue energy right in front of me. Just as I was about to dodge, a shadow falls in front of me and defends me with a shield. The shot ricochets off the shield, hitting Loki who wasn't too affected.

"Sorry for the delay," says Steve Rogers, smiling at me.

"The soldier, the man out of time," Loki says, looking at Steve.

A S.H.I.E.L.D jet appears above us, and a woman's voice is transmitted from it.

"Loki, lower your weapon and surrender."

But the jet is forced to divert when Loki shoots at it. Steve throws his shield and starts fighting him. Even after punching Loki in the face, he doesn't seem to feel it. There's a big difference between their physiques and in the end, Steve is forced to kneel.

(Enough.)

I fire a blast of golden light from my spear, hitting Loki in the chest and pushing him away from Steve. Loki lay on the ground unconscious, injured but alive, with a large burn on his chest.

"Boom."

Next to me, I hear a noise of a fall. I see a man wearing a full red armor looking at me and Steve, who has recovered his shield from the ground.

"Am I late?" asks Tony Stark, Iron Man.

The three of us stand in front of the unconscious Loki.

"Mr. Stark," Steve complements.

"Captain," Tony responds, then looks at me.

"Viking."

"Mr. Stark," I return the greeting.

The S.H.I.E.L.D jet lands near us, and the back door opens and there is Natasha Romanoff, the Black Widow. She looks a lot like Scarlett Johansson, only with long golden hair and two daggers strapped to her thighs.

"Get him inside," she said and went back into the jet.

I put Loki over my shoulder and head towards the jet, I look at Amora further away and see that she will follow us in her own way, leaving just the four of us on the jet.

We take off and quickly leave the city, heading in the direction where Fury probably is. I put Loki in one of the seats, the Black Widow gave me handcuffs which I put on him, I also took the opportunity to heal his wounds, even though he is what he is, he is still my brother.

As everything was calmer, Natasha got in touch with Fury reporting everything. When she said that I was also on board, Fury was not surprised already knowing that Loki was my brother.

"I don't like this," said the Captain to me and Stark.

"What? That it was so easy? From what I saw, Rapunzel here did all the heavy lifting."

Tony jokes with me, I must say that I almost punched him, what saved him was me remembering his future feats. He removed his helmet and his face is also the same as Robert Downey Jr.

"I'm not talking about how the battle ended, but about him being so exposed, it was clear that he was drawing attention to himself."

"You need to relax, Captain, the horned idiot is locked up, it's time to celebrate!"

"Where is this coming from?"

Natasha draws attention to the sky above us which suddenly becomes cloudy.

"BOOM!"

A lightning bolt illuminates the darkness, and rays begin to fall around the jet.

(I told this idiot to wait for me!)

"BOOM!"

Something hits the top of the jet making it shake a little, Tony puts on his helmet and opens the cargo door of the jet, Thor takes advantage and enters, he stops for a second looking at me, and then at Loki still unconscious by my side. Before I say anything, Stark acts and shoots towards Thor throwing him out of the jet, after that Stark jumps from the jet and goes after Thor.

Steve is the first to act going towards the still open door.

"I would stay out of this, Cap. These guys are legends, they're practically gods!" Natasha tells him.

"There is only one God, Miss, and I know he doesn't dress like this."

Steve says, and before jumping from the jet, he grabs a parachute.

"Why can't these idiots just sit still for a bit and think before acting?"

I say, thinking about how everything got out of control all of a sudden.

"Are you going to stop this or not?"

Natasha says with a bit of anger in her voice.

"I see that you haven't lost your spirit since the last time we met, child, that's good."

"They haven't called me a child in a long time."

"In my eyes, you still are."

I head towards the exit to prevent those two idiots from killing each other, that's when I look at Loki sitting.

"I know you won't run away, but pretending to be asleep is kind of idiotic."

Loki opens his eyes and smiles at me.

"I'm just admiring a beautiful spectacle, brother."

"Of course you are."

I point Sigel at him and golden chains envelop his body completely restraining him.

"You know I'm not going to run away, so why all this?"

He asks, still enjoying the whole situation.

"It gives me a certain peace of mind."

After answering, I jump, in free fall, I see Iron Man grappling with Thor flying uncontrollably towards a mountain, they crash into it, and then fall towards the forest destroying all the trees in their path, Steve is still falling slowly with his parachute.

I land on a large rock formation higher up and watch Thor's fight. He started punching Tony in the face, then grabbed Tony's wrists and crushed all the armor. Tony fired with his hand in Thor's face which didn't have much effect, Thor held Tony as if he were light as a feather and threw him to the ground, the Mjolnir returned to him and when he was about to end the fight, Tony escaped using his thrusters, he made a half turn in the air and punched Thor in the face.

The fight was about to restart, until a shield came flying and separated the two. You don't have to be a genius to realize what the final outcome of the fight would be if it continued, Tony was with damaged armor, while Thor was without any scratches.

"That's enough!" Steve shouted, approaching.

"I don't know what you plan to do coming here, but this is not the right way to do it." He continues.

"I came to end Loki's plans!" Thor replies.

"Then prove it, drop the hammer."

"You want me to drop my hammer?"

Thor, with his temper, then jumps towards Steve, but before the blow hits his shield, I extend my hand and the Mjolnir escapes from Thor's hand and comes to mine, making Thor fall to the ground.

"Have the two idiots finished measuring? Or do I need to get a ruler?"

I ask Thor and Tony who are looking at me silently now.

"Well, let's go back to the jet, and there we'll do what we should have done from the beginning, talk."
