Chapter 50

- Amanda

After the coronation party, the principal decided to give the CAU students a week's break.

They were overjoyed by the news.

Amanda wasn't in the mood lately after hearing Shannon's story.

She kept thinking about whether Shannon wanted her help or if was it a trap like the last time.

Simeon told Amanda that she would be driving Shannon to school and then picking her up after.

Since he thought Amanda doesn't have anything to do at home.

Amanda was busy scrolling through her phone when she remembered something.

Ring, ring

"Hello?" Chase's voice answered the phone.

"It's me," Amanda replied back,

"Yes, I figured. Do you need anything?"

"Did I call at the right time, or are you busy?"

"No, it's just the right moment. Do you need anything?"

"Can you meet me at 4 pm?"

"Sure, why?"

"I need to talk to you."

"Okay, just wait for me at the gasoline station near your place."

"Sure." Amanda hung up.

Amanda texted Shannon that she won't be around to pick her up.

Instead, she asked Edmund to do it.

"I still have something to do. I'm gonna be home late."

Amanda just wore something casual and left the house.

She arrived at the gasoline station on time and found Chase waiting in his car.

"What do you want to talk about?" Chase asked as he drove,

"About the guy, Colton," Amanda replied,

"What about him?"

"Did he spill the beans?"

"Yes, I told you about it."

"I also wanted to say, thank you for helping me." Amanda looked down.

Chase pulled over to his garage.

He lived in a penthouse near his company so he wouldn't have to travel far.

"Come in," He opened the door for her.

Amanda entered and sat on the living room chair.

She studied the interior design of the room.

Fluorescent lamps hung on the wall.

Black and white flowers on a ceramic pot rested on the living room table.

"Tea?" Chase asked,

"No thanks." Amanda shook her head.

"It's been a long time." Chase sat beside her,

"We used to hang out often. Until you moved out." he looked at her.

"Yeah, I remember." Amanda smiled.

"So, you personally came here to thank me?" He raised an eyebrow,

"Yeah, I would gladly want to pay you back," Amanda replied.

"What would the payment be?" Chase asked,

"Anything. As long as the host is satisfied." Amanda answered.

An idea lit up on Chase.

"Then, would you do me a favor?" Chase said, flatly,

"Anything. As long as it is within my power." Amanda looked at him.

'I don't want anything from you, really. But if you can give me a chance...'

Chase moved closer and brushed a strand of Amanda's hair from her face.

Amanda didn't dare to move and waited.

'You better not do anything unwanted.' Amanda watched his eyes as his face went closer each second.

Then, he pulled her in for a kiss.
