Chapter 49

"By the way, I wonder who's the lucky girl you're hanging out with?" Kishley asked.

They pulled over to a coffee shop nearby.

"Yeah, you have to tell us who it is." Michael said as he took a sip of coffee,

"Gosh, their macchiato is a little sloppy." Kishley grumbled as she took a gulp.

Chase didn't say a word for the whole time.

Finally, Kishley slammed her hands on the table and leaned onto Chase.

"Aren't you gonna say something? Who's the girl?" She asked and grabbed Chase's cup away,

"I'll tell you at the right moment." Chase murmured,

"I want to know now!" Kishley demanded.

"You heard him? It's not that easy to confess you know." Michael chuckled,

"Well maybe he doesn't want to say it because you're around." Kishley snapped.

The two started to argue.

Finally, Chase can't take it anymore.

He placed down his cup casually.

"Ahem." He said, his eyes flashing daggers.

Kishley and Michael hushed and sat back down without any word.

The three have been friends since senior high.

Despite their friendship, they were also scared of Chase's death stares and cold looks.

- Somewhere on another company

"Sir, your nephew decided to break off the engagement."

"What?" Lucas Wilson (Chase's uncle), answered mindlessly talking to the phone.

"Sir, this is an important issue. I kindly ask you to hang up the phone." His assistant said,

"Yeah, just a sec." Lucas raised his hand.

"Yeah? Uh huh. I'll call back. Bye." He hung up.

"So, what is it again?" Lucas raised an eyebrow.

"Sir, your nephew called. He said he is breaking off the engagement and the deal is off. He also threw Ms. Smith out." His assistant said.

"What?! Is he nuts?!" Lucas bellowed,

"Well, Ms. Monroe said Mr. Chase ordered her to threw her out. She also said that Mr. Chase is determined about his decision."

"I shouldn't have let that sly fox Kishley get too close to him. Who knows what she up to." Lucas muttered and sighed, rubbing his head.

He stood up and left his office.

"Tell me where he is. We need to have a little chat." Lucas ordered,

"He is in his place, sir." His assistant said,

"Perfect. We're going there, right away." Lucas chuckled.

'You better not cause me any trouble, my dear nephew. My plan is now intact and I wouldn't go easy on those who stand in my way.'
